"11:15, why is he running on his head?!" That's one of the tricks you can do in the game if you move back certain objects like fire hydrants or tree stumps. "1:56 Pac-Man believes in God." And yet Japan doesn't care!
I have this on Namco Museum 4 PS1, it is one of the best games in the Pac-Man series, but severely underrated. Still not well received even today in the US from what I've read, but maybe popular in Japan. Sad really as this is really a great platformer for it's time and still holds up well today, even this version (not the Famicom version though, too many limitations for that port).
I remember the cartoon that musics from. About the same time wasn't there a turbo teen game based on the cartoon of a boy changing into a car? I can't find anything about that game.
it's absolutely no doubt that Nintendo took their inspiration from this game to make a supermariobros game, check those elements like power ups, level themes, watercanons, jumping & moving platforms etc,,,, all these elements are all presented in supermariobros, including saving a princess, without this game,Nintendo was nowhere to ever create a supermariobros game, even if they dit,it would,ve be a different game and probably less popular as it becomes now, however i i think there was no night theme in the arcade version, but in this version there is a night theme wich in turn was probably inspirated from supermariobros.
Much as I don't like this game for the crazy controls, I REALLY love it for everything else. I sort of wish they made a more practically-controlled remake or something... I really do. You know- one where forward and backward aren't whats usually the jump button.
The cartoon was decent for it's time, Hanna Barbera probably did a better job with it than anything else ity was producing at the time. HB always had a habit of repeating backgrounds and having gimped animation frames in their cartoons, but this one turned out well enough that eventually it inspired this very video game you are watching right here. And no, some of us knew of the game since it came out in 1984, just could never find a cabinet to play it on again till I got Namco Museum 4 on the PS1, and finally had the Japanese version in my game collection.
このゲームにエンディングがあるのか、知らなかった、ゼビウスみたいに同じ面の繰り返しになると思っていた
簡単に見えるがメチャクチャ難しいんだよ。これ神プレイなんですよ。

Most of us in the US would remember that music well from the cartoon certainly, nice they used it for the game later.

No there wasn't.
You could be thinking of Pole Position, there was a cartoon based on the video game that came before it.
Turbo Teen was the one where the boy would turn into a car, but no, no game based on it.
操作も相まって難しそうですね....

+johneygd Shigeru Miyamoto actually stated Super Mario Bros was inspired by this himself which further proves this. Props to Namco for this!
