The BEST Gaming PC Case of 2024 - Antec C5 Review

- What's the BEST PC Case for Gamers? Well the Antec C5 ARGB is my go to, and when it came through I was surprised to see it was coupled with 7 ARGB fans and a PWM controller. Though then I saw the price... $130 (or $170 AUD for aussies), for a fish tank style case AND all the fans preinstalled? Surely something had to be wrong with it... Though let's go through this whole case with an AMD RX 7900 GRE and Ryzen 7 7700 Build.

I bought Performance 1 FT , 2 weeks ago, for 159 euros (Greece). Basically , its MSRP.
It's a "compact" full tower, packs so much "strength" that I cannot describe! ANTEC is back at it, for good!
This "fishtank" case is so VFM, I can't believe it , good job covering the basics of this case, especially the temps!
That's a top case. I recently picked up 2 of them for some customer builds I am doing. Both I got were the solid panel versions as both my customers don't want any glass or RGB. Excellent case and top quality.
@@bosco9028 I changed be quiet silent base 802, which is great but falls short at some stuff. Idk how antec managed to do a full tower rated chassis, which is smaller than bq sb802 but has better cable management options. It's really beyond me 😅
It launched for $110 here in India. Insane deal.
The upside-down bottom fans are a good idea, not only because they look better but the bearings have a easier time because the lubricant is less likely to migrate out of them, they should last better than conventional ones. Basically it's how all horizontally mounted, upward-blowing fans should be, surprising that so few companies make them.
how did i not know reverse fans are a thing? My next build will look even better thanks to the tech YES man.
I like the fact it comes packed with 7 fans at that price. It is way more sexy than buying a $70 matx case with 1 fan, and dropping another $70 on fans to supplement the build.
trialing out a flip in a white one i bought today, really impressed with this case.
@@techyescity a white PC paired with white/black gaming chair always gives me the Storm Trooper vibes. "may the flipping force be with you" hahaha cheers!! and happy May Day.
Aliexpress sells 6 dollars rgb fans ..
Doesnt mean you should buy them lmao just gonna break in a few months thats why they are so cheap @@KBWarrioR2018
I agree 100%. Also not having to buy a controller.
I was going to be picking up the Lian Li O11 for my next upgrade... but now this one seriously has caught my eye 👁 (Aussie Here)
Picked up the C5 because of your video. Great deal with the quality, fans, and controller. Looks great! Wish I could take advantage of the reverse connection ports but MSI is the only company doing this that has a Ryzen board, it's a B650M and I prefer full ATX. Will just have to wait till someone comes out with one. Thanks!
Is it a large case or smaller?
@@kee1394 it's large, full ATX
I have a $7.50 push button outsinde controller with a remote control for my ARGB it just simplifies things.
Really cool case! Honestly a bit too much for me and my usual mid tier builds, especially since I don't like RGB and keep them off. If there was a fanless version for just 100€ it would definitely consider it (already have 3x 120mm fans on my Corsair air 540 and 3 to spare)
I hear rattling on my case
Fans are very loud. Very tight fitting
I think it be good with a not so long and heavy graphics card. I was concerned about noise if those fans spin up to top speed at first. It looks nice though.
Thanks for the review, is the case/fan silents ?
This with an Arctic LF3 360 up top is dope
Antec! Now that's a name I haven't heard in yeeaars. Nice to see them again.
Damn I might buy this
Are these fans any good?
..and if you're OLD 'n' HATE RGB + need at least 2 x 5.25?
Is it compatible with sfx psu?
Vertical GPU mounting option available for this cabinet or not
Please respond i am about to order it
I am in the same boat......did you ever find out???? I haven't been able to find anything.
@@slidewayslifeplease visit antec site I saw 2 variants of the Kits there.
1 was normal and the other was the RGB version.
also, sorry for the late response mate😁
The big desktop collapse has already begun.
I setup a minus forum nab5 for the neighbor. My god its just as fast as my water cooled desktop. You have been warned. Desktop water cooling parts are collapsing in cost. Throw some money at spxs and make a profit.
The big desktop is about to die off, the new mini machines have 16 cores 32 threads, 64 gig ddr5, pxie 5 x 16 slot, and x3dhx cpus capable of 120 watts. All in the size of a shoebox. As predicted ek is collapsing due to no buyers. The use case for super hot desktop cpu is about to collapse and all the manufactures know this. So so the investors. Offload all your sht now, do not wait
Antec pc cases are more reliable imo.
How do you call "Same all Same" glass all around best case!! 95% of cases today are all the same, a truly boring looking case. No decent airflow and "Same all Same" RGB fans.
paid reviews much? This was so obviously off a script from the company. It's a decent product, but still... shame on you
Yeah shame on me dude, I shilled so much that I went and bought 3 of them today at umart myself.
Bryan is totally into banging out awesome builds that he can pass on to buyers at a respectable price. Seriously he was all jacked up on getting these cases. Like on his parts hunt for those PSU's. He knows what is a good deal.
@@Willbme4EVA This guy's builds are so Jank, you'd have to be nuts to buy something from him. You saw the pile of no name PSUs he bought that had been sitting rusting in some garage, and when two of them popped, he kept using the others in builds he was selling in his "awesome builds"? His advice on parts cleaning is borderline dangerous not to mention lazy(You don't wash fans in water, you don't clean parts with wd-40 or solvents). I watch his videos because I find them amusing(kinda like watching LTT).
i dont like glass case
Why
a bit too much glass, yes, but does look nice
I don't like your taste
Thanks for sharing
Why you watching this then? 😂😂😂😂😂
Great case.. BUT! Space for storag is pathetic.. It has only 1x3.5" and 2x2.5" Yeah nvme is now main thing, but there are many reasons to have multiple HDD and SSD
So keep in mind do you need more space for storage as otherwise this will su**
Antec makes some great cases for the money for both looks and function. They are one of my favorite case manufacturers right now. My main build is in a DF600 and I love this case.
yeah they are smashing it.
I agree, For me it's Corsair (main rig is in 7000D Airflow) & Antec, have a couple NX410s around also have their RGB button. While I use OpenRGB I love how easy the RGB button is to press and just instantly change the color or turn from on to off, versus having to go into the software and press a button to do it.
Crazy good value for money with all that’s included! Good for flips too imho
yeah man im testing the waters right now :p
Antec are great value and I am rocking an Antec case, but I don't like fish tanks.
This is the case i want when I build my 9800x3D and 5080 pc 🤝
Lots of wasted space due to dual chamber, side fans and PSU don't have any dust filters.
Just the O11 Dynamic but 90 dollars cheaper, definitly picking this up.
2:45 Anything that turns rgb off is good.
Well, asrock has RGB control in BIOS(wish more people recognized that). So, in this instance it was redundant. But more control over hardware is always good.
@@thatfordboy4297 An external button would be easier for some people who want to switch between presets, or just turn it off sometimes. Not everyone is willing, or capable of playing around in the bios even if they have rgb settings there (I don;t believe that is present in my Gigabyte bios). All of my rgb is turned off except for 2 front fans which are set to basically a pale grey, just so I know the pc is on, if I forget to turn it off. My Asrock graphics cards rgb was turned off via the very bad Asrock rgb software, which I then uninstalled, the setting must have stayed in the registry.
Wow what an awesome goldfish tank. Oh wait uh.... Seriously though great looking case!
I like the button, No controller needed 😀
Corsair would charge you that just for the fans alone
is there still enough room for that 12VHP GPU connector, even with a 4090??
did you bother watching the video? how wide the case is?
I have been dealing with Antec cases for at least 25 years, and they have always been quality products. It seems they kind if fell into obscurity for many years, but their current products are pretty relevant.
My current PC is in a Hyte Y40, I got it on sale for $99, but it only came with one fan, so I was up to $120 usd after adding two fans on the side. This seems to be a value. I have dealt with a few if the $50-60 similar cases that sometimes come with fans, and everyone has been acceptable, but just that, they all have issues, either questionable build quality of mediocre fit and finish, and the fans are almost always static LED or not addressable.
*Even EVERY dollar above 50, is just an waste !*
It's just an case !
Hush now! Younglings ♥ pretty lights ALOT! ;-)
Amazing case! I prefer the button too.
Very nice case indeed however my issue is that I use an AiO for the CPU and I see little to no clearance at the top for the cables for the CPU cables to the motherboard if you use a 240 mm rad
I just got my hands on one of these cases, fitted it with a 7800XCD and a RTX 4070 Ti and was so surprised you get so much in a case for so cheap.
Australian TH-camr reviews case with Upside Down fans; you can't make this stuff up 💀
In my opinion, the fans are extremely loud. Had to replace every one. It was a pain, but it was well worth it. Other than that, 10/10 case.
I prefer a button for sure. My MSI case has the exact same buttons and USB layout that you showed.
By any chance does this case comes with screws?
I have hard drive I want to mount into this case
Argb was a larry let down IMO, I got MSI & there's not much difference between software and hub control with cheapo Argb fans, a part from having two mobo headers for separate effects but I was expecting custom colours with all effects not just some😢👍
Too much glass for my taste^^
Asus TUF Gaming GT501 White Edition:
This is more my style, i am gonna replace the fans, couse i just dont like it mixed.
Either all are rgb, or all are retroe.
I am all in persona, i dont like to f around.
Antec is back-! This is what they are known for, cool review.
Any idea how an aio would fit? I’ve seen some people say that with team create 2x16gb ram sticks (rgb), that fitting an aio is hard. Is that true ?
Wow. I am using a 10 year old $35 case with a modern powerful build in it. Still.. I have many things I'd rather upgrade like ssd or double the ram before I would upgrade the case. Am I the only one go think that worrying about looks or noise level is outrageous?
Would it fit an ATX motherboard? (MSI Z790p)
Much much prefer not to use any RGB software especially because I only use the software to disable RGB. Button is way better.
Nice case. Another good value case is the Montech King 95 Pro. Fans pre-installed, RGB strip on front, easy to build into.
Got ae NZXT H510 with no side panel and i believe it to be the best case ive ever had. Its by faaar not the best looking, but its runs as cool as a mother f****r
Open case will make almost any case a God Tier case
Great value case indeed, your video inspired me to order a few from Umart tonight.... They also have the C3 Constellation at $123 which isn't too bad as well 🙂
Antec are killing it right now with their quality and price when it comes to cases. No need to spend ridiculous money on a case these days when you have companies like Antec doing this.
I know everyone raves on about Fractal and whilst their cases do look nice, honestly after building about 11 PC's in the last 3 years using various Fractal cases their quality and materials used is absolutely garbage compared to other brands thin materials and substandard fitment. They get their design right and even in the case of the Torrent flow spot on but then skimp out on build quality. You want a case that lasts a long time so it needs to be built strong quality materials.
All this RGB nonsense is so incredible cringe.
I hide my PC in another room and use wireless mouse, controller and keyboard and a long HDMI cable to my screen.
For that sweet sweet silence and not getting all that heat in the room i sit in.
Getting a bunch of silly light close to you throwing of your screens calibration.
And having to listen to all that noise and having a space heater right next to you in the summer.
Have always seemed like an horrible idea to me.
I remember when cases were not clear.
Imagine how this case will look 5 years from now 🤢
Nice value. Have a few NX410s, They are making a nice looking O11 knockoff here. I am tempted.
software allows to change all argb (fans, memory, mboard, gpu etc) case buttons do not which is why I use software.
you can get a refurbished HYTE y60 for 150$.....
The fact that your videos go live at random times, (i.e. 8:38pm) makes me believe that you actually put care into release and not just have videos set to timers.
Are you okay 😂
@@YnotEnot no? Now what?
I could take 10000 hrs to craft a masterpiece and schedule it for exactly 10PM but according to your logic because I scheduled it I didn't care about it.
I had an Antec DF700 Flux before my 5000D: I might get that C5 case for my spare ring, it is a very nice case indeed
I have iCue with the 5000D, but I don't use it for the fans, I bought fans with a small remote control to use it
My monster NZXT Phantom 820 I think used an exterior button to control the lights, like the C5, and I much prefer that
I think she will be a cold winter in Oz, there will be a -4 tonight in Tassie, and a frost warning for the whole state
Does it support Vertical gpu?? dosen't look like there is much space there between the bottom fans and gpu?
I too am impressed with this Antec case. I am curious if anyone has used this case with a 360 mm AIO at the top and if the temps are even better?
have you checked out the antec CX200M? it's like a MATX version at only $75 aussie
I've been a fan of Antec since the 900.
Personally i hate unicorn vomit , but then i love sleeper builds
As for that case i would not like that many fans because of the dust that will end up in there , sure we all want a positive pressure case but that's ridiculous and with it being a fish tank you would see all the dust ,
Button is best. I have even purchased those cheap led light strips that come with a remote on some retro machines that have no RGB at all. Just a light adds a ton of visual appeal .
I miss the Antec 900 days hahaha, but this is nice.
Case fans are a waste of money and electricity. Just keep the panels off and cooling will be fine.
I prefer button as well.
The O11 Dynamic truly was a trend setter
This is better
I just ordered one yesterday upgrading from the og h5 flow
Do they make a version with no RGB? That puke makes me ill.
Even in Canada this case is pretty cheap..........................when the Hell does that ever happen 0.o
Competitors are gonna have a hard time to beat Antec's offer.
how's the fan noise on this? Antec fans aren't that good right?
If we mount a 360 rad on top exhaust the temps will be much better
Antec. Believe it!
MADMAN!!!
argb of fans is not good looking, i like argb of fans from montech king 95.
I'm like the Antec P1 not another aquarium case
can you test if it will have enough room to put ur gpu vertically
Im so tired of these fishtank cases i might just build in one😊
prefer button. and would lie to see a white version would be nice.
You can tell they got inspired by Lian Li
good if u cant get god tier case, bad because the materials are crap.
I'm fine with software tho I just use it to turn off lights or set them to red so meh
That thumbnail doesn’t look like you.
Is there space for a gpu support bracket for 3 fan gpu
how is this compared to a nzxt 6 flow?
A case like this really cries out for custom cable extensions. I have a Y60, soon to be replaced by a Y70, and it looks so much better with some Asiahorse cables.
Can you please link up on a video showing off these cables? I would like to add to my new build. Tia
RGB button is lot better as quick and easy to use no mess
fans are quite loud
The Button mate Best Regards Andrew
Hmm .. in Europe / Germany it is 272 Euro or 290USD. So I guess they make the money here.
It is not €272 in Euro, The MSRP is €129
Yes…..I like the button
Ryzen 7 7700 off aliexpress? I have 3 at them moment.
Yes got it off Ali. Prices are solid atm for ryzen CPUs there
