Hi prime vs prime I'm a huge fan of yours and wanted to say if you watch to pulse con podcast from Hasbro the transformers prime arcee and bulkhead are huge let downs they look nothing like there on screen models im disappointed because honestly I was really looking forward to getting transformers prime characters but anyway I just thought I'd let you know and have a great day and keep up the good work 🙂

The 2007 Leader Brawl; Back when buying a leader class actually felt like you've bought a leader class.
Leader class then: a large figure with genius engineering and very movie accurate
Leader class now: *voyager with some shit no one cares about*

Bruv because inflation so if you wanted that today the price would have a way more expensive figure which every one would complain about so take the really accurate slightly smaller and no electronics one or spend a hundred bucks

Back in the day (2007), all the older ones were absolutely SOLD OUT and really put the TF brand on the global map! Sometimes we just had to simply settle for Fast-Action Battlers, Legends Class ones and even novelties from F&B/fast food brands until we could find the main line ones. You had to be there to really appreciate this. It changed the toy industry ever since radically! We owe today to what happened then. It was a collectibles' REVOLUTION!
I remember always sniping Starscream and Blackout and I could only find Starscream in 2009 the ROTF version and the premium version of Blackout (which isn't bad, but cost me 2 years), and also Ironhide and Ratchet, I JUST GOT THEM, MORE THAN 15 YEARS LATER. Megatron was also impossible and let alone Bumblebee. The racks were mostly covered by Swindle, Dropkick and Wreckage among other models that didn't feature in the film.

@@iodaspark At least for the favorites/film featured it was completely scarce... Otherwise I saw everytime full shelves of Swindle and Dropkick.
11:26 Actually, the oldest release of Brawl [in the '07 toy-line] was the Deluxe Class Decepticon Brawl. The Leader Class Decepticon Brawl didn't release until Wave 3. (I had the original '07 Deluxe Brawl. It was one of my first movie toys, besides my '76 Camero Bumblebee & '08 Concept Camaro Bumblebee Deluxes)
Yeah, I had the oldest brawl as well. I wonder why he went with the leader TBH. I thought he said he would do only deluxe comparisons as well.

I have that deluxe still! It's a neat little figure with some fun minor autoforming bits for the treads near the shoulders.

The old Lockdown's face looks like he's smiling. Not in a Lockdown-creepy smile, but a like a happy-go-lucky smile. The new(er) Lockdown has a face that really suits him.

after seeing the Review of the perfect 2009 Optimus Prime Voyager battle blades I think the SS Optimus is a throwback to the line

17:00 The 2007 Barricade isn't fully transformed, the chest can be compressed a bit more and the feet have the spikes that can flip up.
But yeah, still got beatend by the ss
Lock Down is 22ft and Optimus is 28. He comes up to Primes chest, so they’re not even close to being head to head. Even without looking that up I knew they were about that tall, it makes sense, Optimus is a Peterbuilt and Lockdown is a Lamborghini.
Actually he is close to ratchet’s size so making him a deluxe class was a right move to be honest
Then when we see him face off against Optimus, he's as tall as Optimus is.

18:43 neat, I didn't even know he came with a mini frenzy figure since the only one I own and knew about was the rerelease figure where frenzy was replaced with his extending lights from the interrogation scene.

I honestly think you should've included the dotm barricade figure because that one cleans up so much on the 2007 design and has actual hands.
Once again terrific review, PVP! 😃 I’m glad you decided to include the alternate modes for the figures in this second part in order to show which version is arguably better, worse, or even tied! I’d say the Studio Series Jolt is actually (mostly) better in (almost) every way compared to the original release. The only things I think that SS Jolt is worse are the way you have to attach his whips, basically having to remove both bottom claws in order to attach them, then having to place said bottom claws on the sides that don’t connect very well even though they kinda feel like they do, not to mention in the movie they came out of the center of his hands, the whips themselves being entirely gray plastic with elements of blue, are not bendable,, and have very poor storage in Vehicle Mode, has clip wheels, and not pin wheels like the original toy has, and worst of all has really fragile connectors that can very easily break when transforming him. It’s also a shame that SS Brawl doesn’t have any rotating turrets like past figures do, not to mention still does a poor job on hiding the robot head. Not to mention SS Barricade’s Vehicle Mode being mostly crap. I really wish all of the Studio Series figures could’ve been better in every way, but, alas. Regardless, maybe for Part 3 you could take a look at 2007 Ratchet, AOE Optimus Prime, 2007 Jazz, or DOTM Shockwave. Look forward to Part 3! 👍
I mean they haven't released a SS Knight/Envasion Mode Optimus Prime figure he can't do AOE prime if he wanted to

Jetfire transforming into a SR-71 blackbird was the coolest when watching the movie
Personally, I LOVE the leader brawl as well. He is big, he is bulky, he is every bit imposing as a Decepticon should be. The SS version just looks like his little brother. But hey, that is just me, you can like the SS version if you want :D
I love Barricade's new look the Last Knight, I hope he can get a studio series figure too
SS Jetfire earned my grudging respect. The first time I tried transforming him from bot to jet I quit partway through I was so frusterated. But when I came back to him later and watched your video I got through it. After a couple more painful transformations I got through it a little easier each time. Now I can do it on demand. And his bot mode and jet mode are both so impressive and so detailed and big for the leader class price point. Now he never leaves my desk.

I remember wanting Brawl so bad back in the day but was never able to find either one of them. The leader has so much nostalgia with me.
Jetfire was Scottish in the movie. The voice was from legendary Sean Connory

And there are more, they could really call the "line" anything too for example: Final battle version, Redone, 2.0, really anything I hope they do it someday
In 2024, I just looked up an AOE scale chart, and Lockdown is just below Primes shoulder, and not to his waist. So, a voyager is needed.

I prefer the Leader Class brawl over the newer one mostly bc of its size. It has that menacing and powerful feel like he had in the movie. Brawl was tough as hell considering how Bayverse Decepticons are. He took on the whole Autobot squad and did some damage. I also prefer it bc of the light up canon. Ik it isn’t accurate to the movie when he’s in robot mode but I just think it’s cool.
AOE’s lockdown had me so mad. I loved lockdown and he is my second fav bayverse main villain so seeing him be a deluxe and have a figure like that pissed me off even when I was younger. Did my man dirty 😭
I know why they keep making him deluxe bc he’s a car and you don’t want a Western Star size lambo next to SS Bee but like bro, lockdown is so small and I’m sure there’s a way to have him be a voyager/leader and compact him into a deluxe car.
Lockdown im the movie was actually really small
2007 barricade's chest is HEAVILY misstransformed, you can pull the head panel up higher and close back the roof of the car to make him look a LOT better, which is intentional as it locks into place, but never showcased it in the pictures or instructions. makes him look better than the studio series, especially considering Frenzy, but the articulation is missing for sure
I lost the 2007 version of this toy years ago, wish I still had it. But gonna buy a new one probably

I actually love jolts whips as swords seeing as they tab on the 'scabbards' on the side
For some reason I really love SS Barricade. I love it's size and design
I saw the original jetfire in stores as a kid and nobody would get me it since it was too complex. Coming back as an adult I'm very glad I didn't get that figure, the studio series version puts it to shame now.

I like the old Barricade better. It’s robot mode doesn’t look bad and including and ejectable Frenzy is great.
Of the brawls, I own the old deluxe, but I LOVE the leader, I used to own him when he first came out, and he was a lot of fun
Sad to see the evolution of Barricade. I have the 2007 version and it is such a great figure, its such a shame they stopped giving these figures the love they used to. Back then you bought the figure because it had cool gimmicks and both a great bot mode and alt mode. Now you buy Optimus, a Voyager class, and they throw in a blue shield and a random orange sword. They couldn't have just made them gray either!!!

You do have a point.... Lockdown should have been a Voyager.....that can do mass shifting and doing elements of Peru Kill. Not only that, but he would have contained all of his weapons, especially the gunface.
Definitely look into checking out Jazz and Shockwave. My two favorite characters.

I just have to comment that the deluxe 2007 Barricade can collapse his chest down his head and make that chest more compact making him look more movie accurate. I regard him as one of the better looking ones of the line.

For SS Jolt, I have seen someone on Instagram who heated the whips up, got them into a pose that he liked, then cooled them down to get a more dynamic look. Just something I found

I actually owned the older Brawl, or most of him at least. He was missing both arms, all wepons/guns, even his back tank cannon. Because of this, for the longest time I had no idea what he was supposed to be.
I love to see deluxe Jazz and movie voyager Megatron from the first movie. Seeing how i had bothand thought both were good. Also i love this series so far.
Of course the two jetfires are on the list, both amazing figures! I’m torn with which one I like better

The original "original Michel bay barricade deluxe class figure" have the "to punish and enslave" logo, but when re-eleased for revenge of the fallen as interrogator barricade never had that or it skiped something.
I have 1 step lockdown who, despite just being an RPM, I really like
Problem is with the Lockdown size issue is that the movie presented a robot of the same size as Optimus but that turned into a vehicle a third of the size of a truck. If they made a voyager/leader Lockdown he'd look fine as a robot by he'd turn into a truck sized Lamborghini
If I'm correct the ROTF, HA and dotm versions of barricade had hands

But what i had in Mind was maybe in the near Future you could Do the Same With Main Line Figures who can compete with the Masterpiece Line like 86 Hot Rod, Kingdom Primal etc. Would be awesome aswell!^^

It’s a Chevy volt, probably why he had the name jolt in the movie just as a play on the car name.
