I skipped out on the original AOE fruity pebbles dinobots because of those bright colors. I was relieved when last knight gave us the dinobots in much more movie accurate colors. Then I grabbed them all for my collection

The TLK figures are not movie accurate (well Slug sort of is). Grimlock was not brown or silver/grey in AoE, he was a patina green like this Studio Series figure. Scorn was a cherry red (and has the most in your face colours of all of the Dinobots). Strafe was blue. And Slug was actually a silver/gold colour, which means he is the only one whose TLK figure is accurate.

I still remember when I broke mine. I was a little kid, so I would take my toys to the park to play with. I ended up dropping Ironhide, and his arms broke. I want to get MPM-6 now that I am 16.
The Studio Series Blackout is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a crime that it took them so long to make a good figure, I mean seriously, he was the first Bayverse Transformer that we actually see in the movie.
I loathe the bay movies and I think a lot of the designs are garbage but opening the series with blackout was a genius move. So glad blackout and starscream have excellent figures now.
@@Joe-fi7il I like the first Bayverse Transformers probably more out of a sense of nostalgia not to mention it having amazing cars. As far as the bots themselves, there’s only a couple that I like in the Bayverse style and Blackout is definitely one of them.
Since they're doing a lot of RotF figures like Sideswipe and Grindor, I hope we get an RotF Ironhide soon, with SS Ironhide being over $100 on the aftermarket.
To this day I still hold the two initial Leader Classes (Blackout, Grimlock) as the gold standard of SS figures. Chock-full of details, excellent balance between the modes, and of course, big chonky units of a bot. Save for Grindor (a retool and strict improvement over the former), the Bee Prime, and the '86 Hot Rod, I don't think any of the other SS figures ever attained to that height. Devastator is a pure feat of engineering in its own way, but... just not quite there overall speaking.
6:26 actually, they designed that toy mainly for kids, and the leader was meant to be the collectors item. With this in mind, you can actually just grip it in place while you move it and no damage is done. I have had both the MB and the original for well over two years and the gears still work just fine.
To this day I still believe SS Grimlock is the best looking and most accurate of the Studio Series line with Blackout being a very close 2nd. It's also because of these 2 figures that got me into Studio Series in the first place. When I first saw Grimlock my first reaction was "wtf? these figures look just like the Transformers from the movie, they dont even look like kids toys". At this point Beast Machines figures were the last Transformers I had collected before I got back into it with Studio Series, so its been about a 20 year gap lol
I’d like to see a video with: SS44 Optimus with DOTM Voyager Optimus SS10 Jazz with 2007 Deluxe Jazz SS58 Roadbuster with DOTM Deluxe Roadbuster SS54 Megatron with 2007 Leader Megatron SS35 Jetfire with ROTF Leader Jetfire Those were some definite upgrades right there.

I’m really loving this new take on you comparing the older Michael Bay Transformers figures to the recent Studio Series versions, and seeing which one is truly the better representation of the live-action films, and would love to see you continue this style in future videos! I think this series could be even cooler if you went through all the figures you have for that character to date. So for starscream it would have been nice to see the rotf voyager and dotm deluxe in your comparisons for your thoughts of what is truly the best.
I do think it’s worth adding an alt mode comparison in future parts of this series. It really would help explore the differences in the engineering between, for example, a Starscream made now and one made back in ‘07.
My Grindor figure let me down. I recently got him and the pieces that cover the rusted rotor in helicopter mode (in the front) do not plug in nicely (or at all). They just stay opened and it pisses me off, but oh well. Beautiful ‘former anyways
this vid makes me both very grateful I managed to get a SS Blackout at a tiny markup (back in march from BigBadToyStore for $59.99), and salty I couldn't get that lucky with SS Grimlock. I don't have any suggestions for the next episode but I look to see what gets chosen.
Great video man I love watching comparison videos and hearing different people’s opinions. It would be cool if you had a little scale and showed the weight differences between figures that are similar in size. Like the Starscream’s or Megatron’s obviously we know which Grimlock is heavier😂just a thought, keep em coming🤙🏼😎

I still have my original ROFT Leader Optimus Prime, and clunky as it may be compared to modern day SS figures, it's still endearing. Plus i love the ability to combine with ROFT Leader Jetfire
Nobody ever noticed but on the original '07 Starscream, you can slot the missiles into his arm-holsters to evoke the look of the null-ray cannons. At least that's how I view it.
If you pick Optimus prime, don't compare it with the battle blades that would be unfair since it's a downscaled leader class, would be perhaps more fair with the mainline with the original voyagers from the fist 2 films or the one from dark of the moon
That og starscream will always havea special place in my heart. It was one of the first toys i had, and the only high quality transformer i ever got (couse all others i had untill now were some small, simplofied ones made for kids). Tho mine looks a bit different than yours but from what i found, the variant i got was a target exclusive named "deep space starscream", which was in much more movie accurate colours
2007 star scream toy still looks amazing for its time, I like the colour scheme and the weapons a lot, sad that I didn’t get that one when I was younger
I have the 2007 starscream, but it is the Skywarp repaint, and the way the light piping works on that figure, It looks like he is constantly screaming XD
The 2007 toyline looks more cartoonish than the subsequent toyline but yet I still love them due to nostalgia and is what introduced me to Transformers.
I remember I had gone to a Grocery Store called GTM and they had a toy section. I could you not, I saw SS ROTF Megatron around 20-30 I really wanted to buy it but I had no money at that time.

Coming back to this makes me so glad i got the new Baiwei weapon master SS Ironhide. It's the little fixes like the ankle tilt and of course the folding bumper. Im hoping we see more of these figures redone with minor tweaks and fixes. Engineering has come a long way in just a few years.
A lot of good figures in the Studio Series line, for my vote, Ironhide and Blackout are the cream of the crop. The detail, transformation, complexity, impressive stuff. A shame then, that Ironhide was difficult to find. I’ve seen only one copy in the store, and glad I picked it up. Cheers Prime, awesome channel. 👍

True, but the DotM Deluxe came out more recently before SS06...and folks have been saying that SS06 was an upsized version of the DotM (personally, I don't see it, even having seen comparison pics). Besides, he used the 2007 Voyager to compare.
I think that a comparison between the studio series lockdown and the original AOE lockdown figure would be neat. :) Edit: A comparison between the studio series helicopter drift and the original Helicopter drift would be a sight to see. :)
I actually like the fusion cannon of the original Voyager Megatron a lot more than the Studio Series. The way the blade deploys is much more visually interesting and you can actually hold the blade in place without stripping the gears because that's how the mechanism was designed.
The next five in my opinion should be… Number 9 Thundercracker from Dark of the Moon Number 11 Lockdown from Age of Extinction Number 35 Jetfire from Revenge of the Fallen Number 44 Optimus Prime from Dark of the Moon And Number 62 Soundwave from Revenge of the Fallen
9:57 my old 2007 blackout, his head joint didn’t actually swivel like it was supposed to, and I remember one day I was trying to get his head to turn and it just popped straight off and I could never find it since, I still have that old figure missing his head till this day

I actually kind of like the TLK Grimlock 😅 it has a cool charm to it, reminds me of a character one could see in a Saturday morning cartoon transformers.
Idk man the more I see of ROTF voyager megs I kinda love it. Innacurate sure but its a really cool looking figure. Also on the topic of ironhides back people always seem to forget he had wing panels that the ss got rid of so the dotm one is more accurate

Ngl what I did like about the old voyager Megatron is that it was the only one to have the wings on the tank while every other figure seems to not include them despite them being shown during the movie
all of the ss figures are amazing and yeah they are better in probably every aspect but the nostalgia that the oryginal figures carry makes them almost even
Despite the inaccuracies on the original there still okay figures I literally have both starscreams and refusing to let the other one go. The only original figure I think is worth it is rotf Soundwave and perhaps 07 or rotf Ironhide just because of the amount of weopons he comes with hftd BB is good also
yes the new Blackout looks amazing even without the poseable hands, still like the golden not-movie accurate Grimlok and the other colorful pseudo-bay Dinobots, they have a certain charme

First edition age of extinction grimlock is a nightmare and you should totally review it if you haven't already. It's a mess of orange in chrome with an instruction book that makes no sense
Hunt for the deceptions deluxe ironhide was one of the best figures, integrated cannons in which one could dismount and prop up into a turret reminiscent of the one in the game

Coming back to this makes me so glad i got the new Baiwei weapon master SS Ironhide. It's the little fixes like the ankle tilt and of course the folding bumper. Im hoping we see more of these figures redone with minor tweaks and fixes. Engineering has come a long way in just a few years.

A lot of good figures in the Studio Series line, for my vote, Ironhide and Blackout are the cream of the crop. The detail, transformation, complexity, impressive stuff. A shame then, that Ironhide was difficult to find. I’ve seen only one copy in the store, and glad I picked it up. Cheers Prime, awesome channel. 👍
Ironhide is crazy hard to find. The only place I've seen it is amazon for almost 200$ CAD.

True, but the DotM Deluxe came out more recently before SS06...and folks have been saying that SS06 was an upsized version of the DotM (personally, I don't see it, even having seen comparison pics).
Besides, he used the 2007 Voyager to compare.

Revenge Of The Fallen Megatron was shown as the first triple changer transformer. Too bad we don't get that in toy form, but hope we do in the future.
Was he really a triple changer? I always thought that he was just a tank that had the ability to fly.

I actually like the fusion cannon of the original Voyager Megatron a lot more than the Studio Series. The way the blade deploys is much more visually interesting and you can actually hold the blade in place without stripping the gears because that's how the mechanism was designed.

9:57 my old 2007 blackout, his head joint didn’t actually swivel like it was supposed to, and I remember one day I was trying to get his head to turn and it just popped straight off and I could never find it since, I still have that old figure missing his head till this day
I'd love if you'd show the first five Autobots for the next video, but seeing as how Ironhide was already showcased, I'd love to see you compare the old DOTM Deluxe Soundwave and the new SS DOTM Soundwave!

I actually kind of like the TLK Grimlock 😅 it has a cool charm to it, reminds me of a character one could see in a Saturday morning cartoon transformers.

Idk man the more I see of ROTF voyager megs I kinda love it. Innacurate sure but its a really cool looking figure.
Also on the topic of ironhides back people always seem to forget he had wing panels that the ss got rid of so the dotm one is more accurate

I just realized SS Thundercracker’s head is a modified version of the original 2007 Starscream head. They look so similar but one has eight eyeballs.
2007 Voyager Starscream vs. SS06 2007 Starscream: I mean, it doesn't take much to beat that, I think that the DotM Deluxe even beats the 2007 Voyager (now, the revamped RotF Voyager is another story!).
RotF Voyager Megs vs. SS13 RotF Megs: ...you probably should've used the SS31 Battle Damaged version if you have it, at least that would've been a fair fight in terms of paint.
DotM Voyager Ironhide vs. SS15 2007/RotF Ironhide: Kinda unfair, the DotM sucks!! 😆😆😆 (The DotM Leader would've been a fairer fight that it still would lose)
2007 Blackout vs. SS08 Blackout: No contest. Studio Series for the win. As for why it wasn't a Leader, well, scale wasn't something considered back then.
AoE Voyager Grimlock vs. SS07 Grimlock: ...yeah, you weren't gettin' a fair fight even if you used the AoE Leader class Grimmy. 😆 The Voyager wasn't that bad for what it was, but even the Construct-Bots figure is a bit nicer looking.

Ngl what I did like about the old voyager Megatron is that it was the only one to have the wings on the tank while every other figure seems to not include them despite them being shown during the movie
all of the ss figures are amazing and yeah they are better in probably every aspect but the nostalgia that the oryginal figures carry makes them almost even

Despite the inaccuracies on the original there still okay figures I literally have both starscreams and refusing to let the other one go. The only original figure I think is worth it is rotf Soundwave and perhaps 07 or rotf Ironhide just because of the amount of weopons he comes with hftd BB is good also
yes the new Blackout looks amazing even without the poseable hands, still like the golden not-movie accurate Grimlok and the other colorful pseudo-bay Dinobots, they have a certain charme

First edition age of extinction grimlock is a nightmare and you should totally review it if you haven't already. It's a mess of orange in chrome with an instruction book that makes no sense

I have that figure and the turret gimmick is great fun.
