Just not as combative and stubborn as Nigerians, Ghanains and South Africans. I'm generalizing here but damn, a small cabal of old men have managed to hold us at ransom for 42 years! I say this without losing sight of the irony in me anonymously commenting sitting comfortably in a couch in the diaspora. But believe this stranger, once I'm ready, I'll pick up the fight for my home soon enough. It pains me to know that all my grandparents have known since "independence" has been unabated poverty. I often imagine at what point did they give up? Do our grandparents ever have any hope? I often feel guilty to be here not starving while knowing life will most likely never get any better for them. Anyways, I'll join the fight soon enough comrades. There is no one else to call for help.

Here is what the country called Zimbabwe needs for its revival. Zimbabwe is broken and here is a Zimbabwean who speaks from the heart about the root problems that have destroyed the beautiful country. Ms Mahere has amazing levels of consciousness about what the real issues are and all points to a lack of leadership transparency and rampant corruption .She is a brave woman who is a real hero who is fighting for humanity. The mundane zanu pf political approach has failed the country and its a thing of the past. Decisions about Zimbabwe need genuineness and robust debates. 1995, we were tear gassed at UZ, the University was closed for a week, I was 20 and a Brian Kagora a 25-26 year old Lawers student had given a speach on Wednesday, that this is the only free democratic place left in Zimbabwe. On Black Thursday, the UZ was closed.

Great interview Trevor. At times though it looked like you wanted Fadzie to criticise the MDC. she handled it well.
