This guy is different, I am a mother and I steal my son's flash disc or phone to play Winky's music. It makes a lot of sense. I respect his career and wish him all the best. Looking forward to more music. Thank you Trevor for a job well done. I listen to his songs and they inspire me to work harder towards what I want in life , I changed from looking up to other people to hand me my success, I decided to leave my "Ejipita" ndega and look for other available opportunities to make it in Zimbabwe. Kutsvaga manake kuti mhuri irarame. Thank you Winky.
Trevor is the only one I have seen so far who has been able to conduct a "proper" and fluent interview with the living legend Winky D (correct me if I'm wrong and provide me with the link to other interviews). Winky D is talented ohhh God and he knows how to separate the brand Winky D from the individual Wallace. God bless this treasure of ours
Trevor wacho is actually very good indeed. He is quite composed anoziva basa rake. He is hardly moved by emotions and is quite cool indeed. Uyu anogona basa rake he is quite mature. Even politically, when interviewing people he takes no sides. All he does is just interview whoever factually. He is one of a kind and deserves a round of applause from us. Both of them na W.D. are our national treasures.
Winky D is right. he does not need validation from artists from outside Zimbabwe to gain recognition. He is a giant in his won right; and it is incumbent upon us as Zimbabwean to put his music on the international map. Tuku did it on his won; and the international artists came to him for validation. You do you, Gaffer. We are with you.
Will come back every now and then to enjoy the comments. Why can't we create ministry of Zim dancehall and make wink D the minister and the spokesperson. I am totally smitten.
Many people here are failing to understand that the fluency we are commending here is not of the queen's language because even some native speakers cannot present themselves the way he did so it is the fluency in ideas, composure, ability to answer questions appropriately, ability to clarify misconceptions around some songs assumed to be political though we know they are but for the sake of peace with the junta you need to have a sobber defence😂 which he did very well. Weldone Gaffa
You have a wrong definition of fluency there! All the same Winky is articulate. In actual fact people are referring to the ability to speak easily in English and I wonder why Zimbabweans are obsessed with that.
@@tafadzwagora9290 The definition of Fluency according to the Oxford dictionary of contemporary English is "the ability to express oneself easily and articulately"

Winky D is a firm believer in his talent. He simply said I don't need to pay big jus to feature an acclaimed music giant, jus for the hype that I sang with so and so, yet in the books I would have lost around US50 000, woow this guy is such a role model.
And i quote "winky d is the genesis of my names...... Mukuru makadzidza henyu hamuna dzungu.. I am one person who defends yu like i knw yu personally..
Wow👏👏👏 The part about us always seeking validation from other countries. I completely agree Zimbabweans should support Zimbabwean artists for them to be great. If the thirst for seeking validation is a lot let's support them enough so that they gain recognition. Not focus on feuds

I must say , This Gentleman is the most progressively evasive Zim Celeb I have watched. Intimately informed and aware of the mechanics and sinkholes. Impressively sure footed and sufficient to the tug in the war for greatness. I hope he studies further and can be a good jab to our arts & culture. I will however, say I remain curious on his reference to annointing . It will be interesting to understand his faith cohesion with the conflict the rasta movement bares in our zmbabwean community. Over and above Winky is truely a Ninja, as slippery as derere and harder than mhandire... lol... was fun...
at 28:26 Winky punches hard... he knows that some things said are a result of research and hence he goes for the punch when he sees someone reading out his favourite songs forgetting earlier mentioned favourite song... that's intelligence and the ability to discern knowledge, love and research
Thanks to Hopewell s post and all I can say is Winky D is unmatched 👌🏾. He acknowledges God and gives credit to his struggle. One focused man who is on another level.
A year after this he won two international awards.1)Best Dancehall Artist 2020 Award at the African Entertainment Awards United States of America (AEAUSA) 2).Best African/ Dancehall Entertainer International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA). The best Zimbabwean dancehall reggae artist in my world. good to see the world realizing our national treasure. surely he doesn't need international collaboration to be recognized. thanks, Trevor for this interview I always come back he and there.

I feel that is a wise way of ensuring your safety as a musician in Zimbabwe, more so, there is a thin line between social and political life. Winky is a treasure for sure, now let me go and look for "The Willie Lynch Letter."

1. a celebrity and a role model
2. a mere musician and an artist
3. being clever and being wise
