I made a small error in this video: Pre-stretched strings do not have lower elasticity. They have greater elasticity. Elasticity is defined as a string's ability to return to its original shape. Pre-stretching increases this proficiency. The correct thing to say is that pre-stretched have reduced plasticity. This means they feel stiffer and they feel less elastic-bandy, which is a synonym for soft and powerful. Small correction but I think it's important to be diligent, yet forgiving, with semantics.
Great review , giving honest opinion about the racquet . Comparison with other racquets like arrow and aero98 are important to give us a more practical idea where mp stands. Thanks for sharing
Is the stability all in the extra swing weight? It would take a very modest amount of lead tape to bring the 2022 version to a 330 swing weight. I'd like to see a side by side playtest of the two at similar spec
I'd say that yes its mostly all in the swingweight. The last MP I hit had a high SW too, I didn't measure it, but it felt heavy. Comparing those two, I don't think that the new one is much more stable, if at all. I think you'd have to hit them back-to-back to notice.
Head Lynx Tour. S tier string, and by far more available to purchase than Restring/Toroline etc for people who does not live in the US/Canada. Looks stunning in Orange in many rackets too!
That's what Im using orange looks good and so true can get head strings easily outside us. I find this string feels firmer when breaking in and then it feels soft and last a long time
Harry from tennis spin just reviewed an older sinner pro stock from a few years ago. Its the old mould speed that has shared holes and customised with lead
I would say that it does not because the feel is so different. The Whiteouts are boards. There's nothing interesting about how the flex, whereas with the Speed, there's a lot of flex. The Whiteouts feel a lot more solid, more like player's sticks. The Speed feels like a tweener racquet geared towards a player. There's a bit of a hollow, slightly mushy feel but its really easy to hit heavy penetrating balls. I think aggressive play was more consistent with the Speed since the pattern on the Whiteout is so open, but spin is better on the Whiteout. Forgiveness and comfort are better with the Speed too. Whiteout wins maneuverability. The Speed is probably "better" for most players at most levels, but the feel could be a deal breaker because its so different. Honestly, the feel on the Speed is almost a deal breaker for me as it is.
I liked it quite a bit stock, but were I to take time to mess with one I'd probably do lead at 12 until 330SW (if its not already there), a leather grip and 5g at 7 inches
Starting to groove more and more with the new speed mp. Been surprisingly playing my best tennis with it even though it was actually an impulse purchase. Again had to add a lot of weight on the handle to get the swing just right. Keeping the racquet at 325 sw for me was perfect as it allowed me to whip without it being clubby. Gonna swap over to Tour Sniper on this very soon and maybe upping the tension. Been using razor soft on it which is nice but i do agree it needs stiffer strings. Overall its a surprise for me how much i actually liked the new speed
I'm also surprised. This might be going down as my favourite Speed of all time but I'm trying not to get too hype about something I only used for one hit.
Hi Beckett great review! How would this compare to the pure aero 98? I am looking for the same kind playability (spin, control, maneuverability) but better comfort and forgiveness. Also I’m more of an all court player, would this be a good option? Or should i go for the pure aero 2023 instead? Thanks!
@@TennCom thanks for the reply Beckett. Would you say the spin potential is comparable between pure aero 100 and the head speed MP? Not ready to sacrifice spin yet, thanks!
@@marcelinomichael9564 I personally probably get better rpms on the speed. I struggle to get good spin modulation with the aero, I can’t vary my swing path as easily so it’s hard to change from flat to spin. I just kinda hit medium
I really like your videos, as a videographer fellow I really love the quality ❤ That said, i'm really strugling with the rad pro (it was an impulse to buy it). Now I feel it too heavy, the balls are getting too short (in the court tho), and when i try to aply more power i tend to fail the sweetspot. I was thinking on the rad mp auxetic and speed mp 2022. I loved the control but i want a whippier effect and more power (help) from the racket. What would you recommend? Also yonex has been growing in me but idk, i love the feel of head rackets and I read that yonex has more muted feel
I think go for the Extreme Tour. Its really easy to adjust the angle of the racquet face during the swing and modulate the spin/arc over the net. Sweetspot is more generous than the Radical Pro and its easy to get depth with it compared to the Radical MP. Is Speed MP is fine, but it doesn't standout or feel special like the Radicals or Extreme Tour.
@@TennCom i really appreciate your answer 🌹 I also have the extreme tour but i find it quite unstable when o play with Hard hitting opponents, that's why I though of rad mp for more controlled returns. Considering you played both? Thank you so much for your content
@@trskjora1316 I like both. I prefer my 360+ ET. It has a much more predictable stringbed than the Auxetic version. The Rad MP is a precision instrument but I struggle to get the spin I need for my game which is why I'm using the Whiteout 18x20 now. I wouldn't read too much into 317 vs 323 because those are just averages and the racquets you end up trying could be completely different.
Hi mr. beckett. I started tennis last year and have a pure strike vs. My friend had one and I thought it looked cool and came across your videos and got one. However, I lack the technique and skill and my shots lack power. I was wondering if this speed mp 2024 or any other rackets would do me better? thank you Mr. beckett
The Speed will be a bit easier to use, but you'll be 97% of the way there if you keep your tension under 50lbs with the PSVS. I think it plays more like a 98 and is generally sufficiently forgiving. No need to speed the extra $300 unless you want to for fun.
My personal preference, if I had to switch, would prob be Extreme Tour > Boom Pro > Speed MP > Extreme MP, but I haven't hit any of these back to back since we compared the new Extreme over a year ago. If I had to play them stock, we could switch the order to Boom Pro > Speed MP > Extreme MP > Extreme Tour just because the Boom Pro doesn't have any obvious weakness in stock form for my game.
I really like this Speed update. However, my demo was at 340+ swingweight. That's just too much for my play style. I'm looking forward to hitting this frame at spec.
I use the MP 2022 and I was thinking about buying the 2024 version. Great review, I really like all the points you are giving us. I used de RPM blast at 47 in my MP 2022, would it be okey to use the same set up in the new one?
Grav MP feels way lighter, way faster through the air, its easier to get spin and maybe a bit more comfortable. Speed feels more powerful, plays better attacking tennis, hits a heavier ball and feels more stable. I prefer the Speed MP these days.
How would you compare this to the gravity pro ? Im looking to upgrade my Youtek IG Speed MP and Im not sure which one of the 2 to go for - Gravity pro has the same mold but this one would be the same model in the newer series
The Gravity Pro feels less connected but more solid. Everything about the Pro feels more "Pro." Hits very heavy, insanely stable, GOATed for flat shots, still sufficient spin for strong players. The Speed MP can hit a heavy ball too, but it relies way more on your high racquet head speed for its performance. Spin potential is much better with the Speed. I think if you are under NTRP 4.5ish, the Speed is better. If you are over that and have a more extreme grip or rely on whippiness on your forehand, the Speed MP is better. If you are physically quite strong, hit flatter or use your big two handed backhand as a weapon, the Gravity Pro is better.
Its going to be quite an adjustment. I'd only switch to this from the PD if you want some combination of the following: more plowthrough, mild increase in control, more connected feel, better comfort, However, you need to be ready for a reduction in easy power, off-centre forgiveness, spin potential, torsional stability and maneuverability
@@TennCom Very thoughtful answer. Thank you. I'm out of position so often (too slow, bad judgement) I may not be able to live without that that free power.
Hey Beckett, I appreciate the review. I’ve used both a PA98 and PS98 recently, and you said the switch should be easy. I feel like the PA98 is a little too powerful and the PS98 is a little too limiting on spin, is this the happy medium? Thanks!
Yeah, especially if you spin limitation with the PS98 comes from the clubby head. Also worth looking at the PD98. I get more spin with the PD98 than the PA98 and the hitting feel is more connected so it doesn't feel as launchy.
Is there a hybrid (gut/poly) setup you would recommend for this racket? Or just go poly (at what tension)? Currently using Babolat Touch VS (mains) and RPM Blast 125 (crosses) both at 23 kg (51 lbs), but found that my 2024 Speed MP has wayyy too much power (with high launch angle) at the cost of control now
i really liked Lynx Tour in this stick, I think it makes sense to go for something firmer and most likely full poly. Maybe try Lynx Tour at 23kg and see if you feel like there's less launchiness. In general its going to be on the higher side due to the open string pattern.
Hi Becket! Im Currently using/loving PA98 but mi arm is asking/shouting for a softer raquet. I'm comsidering Speed MP 2.0 after watching this video and wondering: Speed has more or less power than PA98? And launch angel? Thanks!
Couple questions, 1. Are the Speed MPs really 330 SW? Static weight looks a bit low to be hitting 330 SW without being super head heavy, but just curious if a lot of them are gonna be at 330 SW. 2. U think confidential would pair well with this? Its my fav string and ive got half a reel left lol
Yeah I think Confidential would be great. Would be in my top 5 choice for this stick. Swingweight does not mean the balance would be necessarily head heavy. It might feel head heavy due to the weight, but if the racquet's weight distribution is correctly polarized, you can easily end up with a headlight, high swingweight racquet. That said, another commenter told me his demo was 340SW so thing might end up being pretty demanding for a lot of players.
My Speed MP 2024 is measured at 325 swing weight strung. I believe TennisNerd also got his at 325 sw. i asked my tennis shop to measure their stock speeds first and i just picked the one with the lowest SW
I took your "try stiff strings in this soft racket" advice and went the entire way to 4G 16L (46 lbs)... not as scary as I thought it was gonna be, but feeling like this would be a good frame to try Sync for the first time in. Good idea/bad idea?
Beckett, I just watched Luca’s speed mp review… I’m the old guy..We chatted many times… great review… I’ve been demoing the pure strike 16 x 20…but this new Speed MP interests me…I use to play with one years ago….But, would it be too heavy ? I do play with the second gen PS 18x 20 once in a while…I also have my eyes on the new 16x 19 pure strike , and / or the PS 100… ( senior 4.0 singles player..ohb, sw grip , like flat, some top, slice…l need racquet help on he serve. Best, John
Hey John! Just so you know, I recognize your username every time you comment, so you don't have to introduce yourself every time if you don't want to. The Speed MP plays fast for 330SW. It swings a lot faster than the Extreme MP when I had it around 330SW. If I remember, the Extreme MP was in your bag for a time. I think it would be manageable for your 1HBH, but I haven't served with it, so I'm not sure if it would give you extra juice or just feel cumbersome. I think its worth looking into, but be weary, another commenter told me their demo has a 340SW so its possible that QC is pretty poor with this gen.
@@TennCom wow….. Quality Control is awful …Beckett, have you tried the new Pure Strikes, yet…. 16x20, and the 16 x19 98….. you produce great stuff …Hope your business is doing well? Best, John
This or the 360+ Head Extreme Tour? Coming from a PA98 that is already hurting my arm. Also ordered a Regna 98 to add to my collection coming this June. Also read at TT that a new Extreme is coming!
I would personally rather use the 360+ ET but I think the new Speed would be better for your arm. Not just the 60RA but it feels pretty plush IMO. I'm excited for you to get the Regna. Its my fav stick atm. I'm looking forward to learning more about the new Extremes. Seems like the Tour is getting renamed, which I think its a weird choice, but hope they do a good job with the update!
@@TennCom Yeah I love the "Tour" than the "Pro" term more, sounds more unique or special. The Regna I think will be more of a "special" stick for fun hitting only, too expensive for using in competitive plays; specially here in the Philippines where everything costs about 50% than usual. I think I'll wait for your review on the new Extreme till I get another racquet for comptetitive purposes (Also paid a lot for the Regna plus, it was an impulsive buy after watching your vid). But if Sinner wins another tour then welp.
hi. i am a big fan of your contents. i am from Korea. i have watched almost all of your videos. i recently got injurred my tfcc and waiting for surgery ahead. i have been using blade,ezone98,percept100. but i may have to switch to a more soft arm friendly racket. i heard about nova v3 and am thinking to try. but my question is... it has stiffness rate of 68? what are the factors that makes rackets more user arm friendly? why clash v2 is only 58SR? its hard to understand😅
Thanks for watching! I am actually (half) Korean. My family moved here in the late 1960s. RA is a decent indicator of comfort, but I think if you are going to use any number as a guide, vibration frequency is more useful. If the goal is to reduce the impact shock, vibration frequency tells us how many vibrations are travelling through the racquet after ball contact. Lower RA and higher weights means less vibration. You'll see that Clashes have very low VF's: twu.tennis-warehouse.com/cgi-bin/vibfrequency.cgi but the Prince ATS 100 is also a good candidate. Having tried the Nova, the comfort is good, but I'm not sure I'd go that route myself if I was recovering from an arm issue, especially something so close to the hand like the tfcc.
@@TennCom many koreans would be surprised to hear that uou are half korean. i gotta let my friends know. thank you very much. i think many people would be interested to hear about this RA and arm correlation. maybe can be a content for your upcoming video.
I wouldn't actively recommend it, but I wouldn't say it would be bad either. My friend just got one and has been enjoying a hybrid of Confidential/Zero.
I think Yonex Polytour Fire would look pretty sick in that racquet, but if I had to pick a string to play really nicely, I'd choose Grapplesnake Tour M8. I bet RPM Rough would play nice too.
They seem more similar on paper than they are in practice. The new Speed reminds me more of the older APDs. I really struggle to get good access to spin on the new PA because the maneuverability isn't great for its specs. I think the Speed is a good step if you use the PA100 now, and want something that gives you better control over your shot selection, but I'm not super sure I would recommend cross-shopping them. Ironically, I don't think the Pure Aeros (100 or 98) suit a spin players stroke mechanics very well.
I get what you mean about the current PA100, the swing weight wears me out more than my Gravity Pro 2023. After playing with the 2022 Speed MP for awhile I always thought it could use more weight in the hoop to give it more plough / help it on defensive shots. However it would potentially be taking away from it's manoeuvrability. I have ended up selling my 2022 Speed MP and am waiting to test a YONEX Percept 100D, the racquet addiction continues :D
is this an arm friendly racket? I have had issues with the stiffness of the aero 100 2023 causing regular arm pain, Something I only got very occasionally with my old yonex vcore. I also find it awkward to swing... it doesn't feel smooth. The stiffness rating on the mp is much lower than the aero so take it its ok?
Personally, I found the jump in the '2024 speed mp' swing weight (319 to 330) really ruined the racquet. It was not as speedy or generated as much spin compared to the previous model and it's really a disappointment. However, the feeling of the 2024 model was better with exceptionally great vibration canceling. As far as I'm concerned, it's the only part where it improves from the previous generation. Not to mention the paint job...
I like the ‘I feel like I can play like Jannik Sinner’ portion of the review! 😂 … Head is going to reward you for regional sales at the end of the year!
But it is known that SInner dose not use this Racket actually it is just a lots of marketing bul@# Regardless the review on this racket and if it is good or not. (I own the preview version and love it! )
That you're giving stringing recommendations tailored to the character of the frame you're reviewing is too forward thinking. Stop being so imaginative. We tennis players aren't this sophisticated. Want club. Swing club.
I made a small error in this video:

Good idea/bad idea?
yes defs good idea... the extra durability from the coating should help resist breaking which is pretty common in these Speed MPs
Best, John
Please review the babolat pure strike 97
Hi,I want you to compare between Speed mp 2024 with Speed mp graphene touch (22mm beam). Can you make a new video?
Yes I want to. I've been looking for a GT Speed on Facebook for months and none have come up. Maybe I'll steal Luca's.
@@TennCom hahaha then do it now
hi. i am a big fan of your contents. i am from Korea. i have watched almost all of your videos. i recently got injurred my tfcc and waiting for surgery ahead.
i have been using blade,ezone98,percept100. but i may have to switch to a more soft arm friendly racket. i heard about nova v3 and am thinking to try. but my question is... it has stiffness rate of 68? what are the factors that makes rackets more user arm friendly? why clash v2 is only 58SR? its hard to understand😅
@@antoniooh7436 great idea I’ll add this to the roster for the coming weeks
Woukd you recommend solinco confidential for this racket?
I wouldn't actively recommend it, but I wouldn't say it would be bad either. My friend just got one and has been enjoying a hybrid of Confidential/Zero.
@@TennCom what tension would you recommend if i put confidential?
@@keeganzuniga8935 your usual
what should i string my pure strike vs with?
I think Yonex Polytour Fire would look pretty sick in that racquet, but if I had to pick a string to play really nicely, I'd choose Grapplesnake Tour M8. I bet RPM Rough would play nice too.
How does it compare to pure aero 98
By the sounds of it, would it be fair to say the 2024 Speed MP is starting to play like the Babolat Pure Aero 100 2023 ?
@@OldManMidnight ugh I’m drooling for a 100D
any thoughts on new cx 200
Love the paint, have a demo unit, have not hit it yet (raining).
Beckett is the Michael Jordan of racket reviews!
billionaire status here i come! But seriously, you are too kind
Does hawk power work with this racquet
I haven't tried it put I imagine it would play nicely. I quite enjoyed my test of Hawk Power.
is this an arm friendly racket? I have had issues with the stiffness of the aero 100 2023 causing regular arm pain, Something I only got very occasionally with my old yonex vcore. I also find it awkward to swing... it doesn't feel smooth. The stiffness rating on the mp is much lower than the aero so take it its ok?
Comfort is pretty decent but I don't have arm issues so its hard for me to say
god i just fckn love tennis and everything about it
any promo code?
BIG SINNERGY Indeed
Personally, I found the jump in the '2024 speed mp' swing weight (319 to 330) really ruined the racquet. It was not as speedy or generated as much spin compared to the previous model and it's really a disappointment. However, the feeling of the 2024 model was better with exceptionally great vibration canceling. As far as I'm concerned, it's the only part where it improves from the previous generation. Not to mention the paint job...
nike socks with NB shoes?
I like the ‘I feel like I can play like Jannik Sinner’ portion of the review! 😂 … Head is going to reward you for regional sales at the end of the year!
pretty, pretty good...
I am surprised no one has christened Sinner as "Janny Sinns" 😂
When I see the specs, I come to the conclusion that it’s not for an one handed backhand..?!
No I think the new Diadem Nova would be a lot better for the 1HBH if you want a medium beam width and 100 square inches.
You ever see a perfectly specced racket but the paint job puts you off 😬
Who knew Head could completely ruin a paintjob with such minor changes hahaha
But it is known that SInner dose not use this Racket actually it is just a lots of marketing bul@#
Regardless the review on this racket and if it is good or not. (I own the preview version and love it! )
That's the case for almost every racquet used by pros.
Sinner plays with completely different racket😂
He even admit it while on court. Interview 🤣🤣🤣
Be careful when u play vs luca if he brings gravity pro u are roasted
Ive never even lost a single point to Luca
@@TennCom he let u win.😃
That you're giving stringing recommendations tailored to the character of the frame you're reviewing is too forward thinking. Stop being so imaginative. We tennis players aren't this sophisticated. Want club. Swing club.
New racquet? Me racquet!
Pro swing stick. Me pro swing stick!
