I don't think it would be fair to extrapolate my experiences with this company onto any other reviewers. Again, this company makes decent products so it's more than likely that some users will genuinely love the offerings. I do not believe that anyone of the prominent reviewers are being actively paid by any brands for positive reviews.
I'm pleased to share that the owner of NordicDots reached out to me this morning to make things right. We both agree that the tennis community is better united and are amicably moving forward from this incident. We are both looking forward to future collaborations.
I agree. And even if it was negative, that is an unknow brand, asking reviewers to lie about a mediocre product just like that??? That's crazy, hopefully in the future other brands learn from this mistake
Thank you for sharing this. I would totally open it up to all subscribers, not just members. It's important to shine a light on people/companies that think they can get away with bullying and gaslighting behind the scenes.
I, for the record, like their strings and I would probably enjoy their racquet... but this isn't about that, this is about the owner's behavior. There are so many good strings and racquets out there that it's perfectly easy to stick with a company who's product is good AND they behave decently.
Exactly the kind of company you don't want to be a customer of!! An example of how it is done: I ordered the blue overgrip from TruPro, but they sent me the wrong grip, the white one. When I wrote them, they instantly said sorry, sent me the blue one and told me I can keep the other pack! Also, they sent me a set of strings! This is how it is done!!!
First time ever I have written a comment on TH-cam but I just have to give you credit. I sometimes disagree with your opinions and reviews, but I am grateful for that as that keeps everybody honest. Wanted to say something about Nordic Dots and how it should not bother you but how you handled it speaks volumes about your integrity and character. Stays true and keep on delivering excellent content.
Beckett, one of the things i've always liked about your channel is that it is unbiased, with words carefully chosen to encourage or guide. If they can't take an honest review of a product and work on ways to improve it, there's not a single pro out there who would be willing to use or endorse their product which will ultimately lead to their failure.
Product development takes a strong stomach. Clearly NordicDots either doesn’t have one or they don’t know how to do private preview marketing. No loss here. Thanks for sharing and being transparent. We don’t need shills. 💪🙌
Thanks for sharing. Fellow longtime racketaholic and stringer here ✋. Kind of same thing happened to me with the company which rhymes with "Miami" 😉 . They made a mistake with my paid order and after (many) months with no replies I made review of the poor customer service. the owner attacked me personally right away with very poor manners. Funny how fast he replied after I gave the review, when earlier there was "no time".😂 As a former entrepreneur myself, it does not cost to be polite and kind to other people.☮️...and just so you know, this happened before the war
Lol @ the implied NDA. Unless they specifically said “please don’t talk about the racket” why would they assume that you wouldn’t talk about the racket? And wasn’t everybody who got a frame talking about it? I thought tennisnerd made a video and everything, did they yank his frame too? Mfw somebody reviews the racket I sent them to review:
I can't speak on behalf of Jonas, but I do know the frame was yanked from at least one other reviewer (it's not for me to say who though). The case wasn't quite as unsavoury as mine though.
Thanks for the video Beckett. It's good to know this information. If a company was sh*tty to you, why wouldn't they be sh*tty to me if I became a customer? It's nice to know how a racquet plays, but if that company has no integrity it's a turn off. I feel for racquet nerds, many factors go into "I want to play with this factor" beyond playability like colour, pro endorsement, company vibe, etc. Nordic Dots gets -10 Harry Potter house points for for this one.
That email response is so unprofessional. I don't even care about the quality of their products anymore, because of that childish email. To me its Nordic NOTS, now!
Thanks for making this and hope it helps get off your chest. We support you Beckett, you’re true to your word and that’s why we love your videos. Integrity is paramount, so congrats for not getting bullied by this company. It obviously has hurt you but we stand behind you. Tennis is fun, you make it fun, keep up the great work.
It was good from you to share this video not only with the members. As you mentioned, we are a community and you are very respectable reviewer who shares knowledge and experience among us. This video is not about throwing shit on ND but just showing how it was in reality. The opinion can make all of us by themselves...thank you for posting this 🙂
I’ve bought racquets that didn’t have great reviews. For this group to go out of their way to attack you is insane to me. Any publicity is good publicity for an emerging brand. Tenncom reviewing a racquet is going to push other reviewers to review it and some will probably like it. Why would anyone want to review their stuff now if they’re going to be threatened with legal action. This is absurd.
It’s called integrity--and you have it, Beckett. Good on you. I know that Nordic Dots is a small company and they are under pressure to perform. But the way that you establish trust and rapport with potential customers that leads to more sales is to accept honest reviews. Ultimately, if the company can’t stand to see where they may need to course correct they are probably looking for trouble down the road that will be more expensive than if they just tackled the problem as it arose. And being unprofessional will certainly not endear them to anyone. If they made a mistake they need to be the bigger people and own up to it.
You have handled such infuriating behavior with so much class. Please continue to get advice from people you trust on what to do. Reasonable people will disagree, but I don't want to see Big Tennis™ ice our precious Beckett out. (Kudos to YTEX / Dunlop, but I worry they are in the minority of companies acting with integrity) It is shameful that you could suffer consequences for being honest / objective, but please be careful!
Thank you very much. It definitely hasn't been perfectly smooth sailing across the board with larger companies, but I have great relationships with retail outlets which would ensure I have continued access, plus a selection of generous viewers who let me borrow racquets for reviews. There are other good examples out there too, Tecnifibre is one of them, offering me review units even after a relatively negative review of the TF-X1 v2's.
I like your reviews, but I have to disagree with you on the Model 99. I like it much more than the Ezone 98 that I bought this summer. For me the Model 99 is easier to use, has a bigger sweet spot, and has more power and spin. It's been a while since I demoed them, but I would say that the Model 99 has as much power as the Percept 100 and Blade 100. The Model 99 feels more stable than the Percept, and feels more maneuverable than the Blade. I didn't notice any stability issues either. My racquet is strung with their recommended string (Topspin at 50 lbs). I've probably tried 30 racquets over the last year or so, and the Model 99 is my favorite. I had planned on buying another one when they are back in stock, but now I'm not so sure. I hate to give money to a company that treats people poorly. It's a shame really.
Good for you mate - thank you for sharing this with us. Honestly, I was going to give these guys a go because other reviewers have been saying interesting things about their frames but there's no way I want to support a company that conducts itself like this. There are plenty of other good options out there.
I have never bought anything from this company but after reading that message from them I now know I never will give them my money. They could have produced the greatest racquet in the world, absoutely perfect for me, but this disturbing lack of professionalism will keep me away like the plague. Appreciate you speaking up about this experience and being candid.
Sorry man, no fun to be put in a situation like this and good for you for clearing the air and making this video, even though clearly it was hard to make. A big reason you and others are valuable to the tennis community, besides the entertainment aspect which rocks with you guys, is giving impartial feedback on gear and we need to keep it that way. Keep strong brother!
In today's world, brand image is as important as product themselves. Tennis racquets is like food or colors, some people will like them and some people won't. Not being able to accept this simple fact shows what this brand is about. Good sharing tbh. I would also go public with this, there is so much offering on the market, why bothering with people who would try to hide 'negative' feedback just to make another sale. Ridiculous.
You got my support in this Becket! I also comment on TT, and i wholehartedly agree with you. This is a bad and unprofessional look for this company. There is no excuse for them.
Wow a company that insults the reviewer of their products because of latter’s honesty. We as consumers ALWAYS deserve the truth of any product we purchase. Having known Beckett since forever on youtube, he always delivers an honest review that all consumers rightly deserves.
As consumers of tennis products who are enthusiastic about the sport, we want honest and unpaid reviews, like yours. You did nothing wrong and everything right. Keep up your good work Beckett!
I think you should make it public as this speaks to how they would truly operate if they weren’t such a small company. Shows a lack of integrity that I think general consumers should be aware of and would like to know. I won’t be supporting them even though their stuff does look nice.
@@TennComthanks for going public, Tennisnerd had a good experience only because they did for big channels do good communication and go overboard on the service.
Even before this video and these issues, I lost all respect for Nordic Dots because it was pretty obvious from a couple of other supposed "reviews" of this racquet that they have affiliates who promote this racquet on TH-cam / social media etc, whether they're directly sponsored or receive payment kickbacks through affiliate links. That simply is NOT allowing people to provide an honest, objective, unbiased opinion of this racquet. It's a disgusting practice and as company they have lost all all credibility for me. I will for one, will NOT be manipulated into this garbage Nordic Dots racquet under any circumstances now. Even if they sold them for $50, I wouldn't buy one.
Keep being true to yourself Beckett, they show clearly that don't deserve a proffesional like you. If they want to sell their products with lies they should work somewhere else. Thanks to you and your mails I found the best racket for my game and Im so thankful that you only recommend good quality products.
I'm so sorry about what you have been through. You look clearly upset and in distress. Shame you experienced this. I was maybe 20% interested in that brand in the past but now I'm in no way going to check them out if that's how they treat reviewers I don't know how they would treat a customer!
Thank you for sharing this Beckett. As a tennis nerd who was thinking about getting nordic dots model 99 to compare with the steam 99, I can agree that they were acting like a baby on their part, you did nothing wrong. I won’t be buying from them in the future!
I think ND owner's behavior for the mildest negative review compared to Tecnifibre's non-response (I assume) to your shellacking of the TFX1 is really illustrative.
The best service you can do for your community is to give your honest review and your opinion. If any manufacturer tries to control the narrative by bullying the reviewer, then it tells me that the manufacturer is just not focused on improving their future products and want to cram garbage down our throats.
If they didn’t want you talking about the racket they could have done a review embargo. It’s a pretty common concept so completely their fault given they chose to skip this step - and the CEOs response is pretty embarrassing
I returned the Nordicdots 99. It was decent but too gimmicky. IMO, it was a little overhyped and it was too underpowered for its spec. The big plus point was the stability, thats it.
If anyone owns a nordicdots and disagrees with Beckets critique please share as personally I love becket and all but I’m here for my love of tennis idc if a racquet gets a bad review it’s when there’s many it becomes a problem..I have one coming and would love to know others opinions I’ll stay nuetral in this..
I do not doubt Beckets honesty and respect his opinion as a player, but my opinion on the nd99 is very different. Super solid, good power, high manouverability, higher than expected launch angle, very similar to a pro stock frame. And amazing looks and quality. Only issue was the higher weight, 304.5 gr, but i usually play with 305. Loved it and switching to it.
@@dimitrisblatsios4706 Thank you so much I’m the same I don’t doubt beckets integrity or opinion there are also many variable such as grip, grip shape, launch angle, racquet history, mechanics ,string setups and whatever else and I certainly don’t hit my forehand or backhand like Beckett so to me it’s ones person opinion..Inthank you so much as I have one coming and have heard it plays well at low tensions and practically what you said..The only problem people are having is finding the perfect string set up other than using nordicdots spin string if you have a strings eat up you can recommend I’m all ears if not ty for your detailed response I appreciate you taking the time..Thank You..

There are always people who can't take no for an answer. You provide your honest opinion on product. And that is what we all need. However, this new company is so money blind that threatening honest play tester is absolutely unacceptable and speaks for their below par business ethic. Not 100% of new product will be perfect, and that is normal. These Nordic company is horrible beyond imagination. I don't think they can go too far with such bad mentality. And thanks always for your honest and straight reviews.
The tennis community would like to thank you for your PSA. No reason we should spend any time or money on a company that doesn’t value constructive criticism.
Look, I live in Sweden, I know how people arrogant around here. They have too much ego that so easy to hurt it. To me it looks like usual thing unfortunately. Well, thanks for this video, I will never approach this company. The same situation with reviewing Swedish cars, if you try to criticize them even slightly, they’ll get so frustrated that they try to attack you. Just that kind of things…
You’re absolutely right about controlling the narrative. Here, it’s embedded in the culture to shape and control the narrative, starting from the early stages of education and extending to nearly every aspect of society. If you think in a way that’s considered “wrong,” you’re seen as the black sheep and often criticized, shamed-whatever fits the mold-by those who are thought to be more developed and intellectual. But at the core, it often reflects ignorance, rigidity, a lack of flexibility, and a big, insecure ego cloaked in arrogance. People are so accustomed to it that they rarely see how it looks from the outside. You’ve really touched on a key part of Swedish culture. Of course, there are good things, too! :)
Their attitude has done more damage to their brand than even a bona fide negative review ever could (which is not what you gave anyway). Attacking a reviewer for being impartial is rather short sighted. They can see your content, ability, preferences etc for themselves before they even sent it. It is correct and proper that rackets bought but us normal tennis mortals (I mean that as a compliment) are watched by normal tennis mortals because it is normal tennis mortals that will buy it. We want to see what players like us (the majority of the market) think of it. A Pro players opinion of it is not really relevant because we don't hit like them. Keep doing your thing, your channel is popular for a reason.
You make great content with high production value and give it freely to the world. Every one of your subscribers can have no doubt about your integrity man. Just my opinion, but I thought it was pretty classy in your 2024 vid you didn’t name the company. Just keep fighting the good fight & making great content 🤙
...unless they reach out to you? You wanna give them a second chance to fool you? Don't EVER make such a mistake. They won't change for good, that much I learned.
They managed this very poorly. But I think in future you may want to consider being more proactive in terms of asking what is acceptable review wise, just to cover your self. Such is life you live and llearn Thanks for the great reviews.
Stay objective, you did a perfect job here. It is disappointing how they responded. This was an opportunity to fix something, or be magnanimous showing they are an elite organization. They failed on both counts. Keep up the great work.
Who the heck would buy some off-brand racquet that costs as much (if not more, if you can stomach last year's paintjobs) as one of the established brands? I know everything is cranked out from like 3 factories in China anyway (except maybe Yonex), but still, not a smart move for someone who's looking to break into the field to antagonize the reviewers. It really leaves potential buyers like me to not even wanting to try it out, as there are literally 30 other similar racquets to try without the drama.
yeah like to demo it i have to buy it and rely on their return policy i think? and if this is the way the owner handles his business how long are they going to last? it's probably far from profitability at this point?
Your integrity is well and truly already established. Please don't let one numpty cause you to doubt yourself. Yes, it's disappointing but hopefully they'll realise their error, will apologise and make things right. If they don't, then remember: you can't take ownership for other people's failings. Chin up - stay smilie - keep doing what you do :)
Dude that sucks, as a business owner myself I understand their worries but after reaching out to them for the second time to amend things as adults being absolute jerks they well deserved to be ditched. I could sense sth fishy from the reviews of that racket and never arriving stock on their website. Clearly some things aren't quite right.
I feel you didn’t need to make this video. But I appreciate your comments about ytex and dunlop. I would have advised you to just talk about those companies and say brand which shall not be named has a lot to learn.
It's funny how other reviews, positive ones, were released before yours and the company said nothing. NDA just seems to be an excuse for their high ego of not wanting to accept negative and honest reviews. However, I wouldn't say it's the worst racket of all time, that's bit of a stretch and I'm sure there are worse rackets out there XD
While the whole story still bums me out, glad to hear the embargo is lifted. If only just to confirm that ND TS127 has become my number one string. I've been a M8 man for a while, but can't deny that TS does way more for my game, and is better suited to the surprisingly string sensitive VC98 Tour.
Now that you mention it, the VC98/Tour is quite string sensitive which is rare for a more muted frame. Anyways, I think they source their strings from Isospeed. Blackfire S could be close if you still feel like messing around.
Hope they aren’t controlling Tennis Nerd review of the racquet. At this point I don’t believe any positive reviews of that racquet based on this behaviour
I believe Jonas to be a very honest person who does not care about money. I will continue to look up to Tennisnerd and take his guidance on complex issues.
You didn’t deserve this kind of treatment man , your video content is fantastic and I highly value your opinion. Shame ND didn’t also value your opinion and treat you with a little respect .
scummy ppl will be scummy ppl. Even tried to make things right and they doubled down. Sad sight but that's the world we live in. Keep your head up brother. 👊
Your behavior indicates that you are the only mature person in this situation. They ended up being hypocrites and, let's say, shot themselves in the foot by suggesting that confidentiality is automatically implied. Good job, Beckett, for handling this correctly! :)

I think you should make it public as this speaks to how they would truly operate if they weren’t such a small company. Shows a lack of integrity that I think general consumers should be aware of and would like to know. I won’t be supporting them even though their stuff does look nice.
Thank you... definitely considering it more strongly now
@@TennComthanks for going public, Tennisnerd had a good experience only because they did for big channels do good communication and go overboard on the service.
Thanks to you and your mails I found the best racket for my game and Im so thankful that you only recommend good quality products.
it's too be expected. 10 clients, 1 totally unreasonable one. it's a good ratio. Keep the contents coming !!!
Big ups for posting this
I'm so sorry about what you have been through.
Why did they assume a reviewer was going to keep information about their product secret?
I think ND owner's behavior for the mildest negative review compared to Tecnifibre's non-response (I assume) to your shellacking of the TFX1 is really illustrative.
The best service you can do for your community is to give your honest review and your opinion. If any manufacturer tries to control the narrative by bullying the reviewer, then it tells me that the manufacturer is just not focused on improving their future products and want to cram garbage down our throats.
What a ridiculous behavior from this company. Appreciated you sharing this
Thanks for the video. Their response speaks volumes about their company. Will not consider their company in the future.
Thank you for sharing; no one should be buying from a company with attitude like this.
Finally - some high tension drama within tennis gear review world!
Professionalism starts with knowing how to communicate … good luck to them and keep up the good work mate! 💪🏻
thanks Mario!
Since I heard your story from a livestream of Mark Sansait. I’m never going to buy anything from Nordic dots.
*set up not eat up damn text to speech…And my friend also switching to it said the same as you my minds at ease now…
@@chainSaw-b2y I have a few poly/poly hybrids that are working really well head lynx tour mains and caviar crosses and FireWire mains hyper g soft crosses both seem to be working really well have to test more but so far loving the racket.
My bad hyper G round not soft
I really wanted to give the racket a try but now I will not be able to do it with good conscience after reading that email. Crazy attitude!
Thanks for letting us know how they treated you Beckett.
That email is crazy, and it sucks you had to deal with that.
Support 100%
Wow learned something today, no idea Swedes were like that, this is the second comment I've seen saying this.
Calm, cool, collected.
You make great content with high production value and give it freely to the world. Every one of your subscribers can have no doubt about your integrity man. Just my opinion, but I thought it was pretty classy in your 2024 vid you didn’t name the company. Just keep fighting the good fight & making great content 🤙
Was intending to check them out.
A real shame, this. Their attitude has definitely put me off.
Was about to order a couple of sticks when they re-up their stock but after this I might skip it...
Same here man
...unless they reach out to you?
You wanna give them a second chance to fool you?
Don't EVER make such a mistake. They won't change for good, that much I learned.
this is a real shame. thanks for sharing
They managed this very poorly. But I think in future you may want to consider being more proactive in terms of asking what is acceptable review wise, just to cover your self. Such is life you live and llearn
Thanks for the great reviews.
If they don’t want the feedback don’t send the rackets out or any products.
Ever since they appeared on the scene, I've felt that Nordic Dots have just paid their way to favourable reviews. This just strengthens that suspicion
Dang I was excited for this racket, but dang this sucks
My feelings exactly
Thanks for info ...I'm BOYCOTTING all Nordics
Sameeee
scummy ppl will be scummy ppl.
