In june this year I saw maiden on the 15th at the madison sq garden and saw the cure 5 days later and coldplay 2 days after the cure. It was freaking expensive but it was my 22nd birthday! On the maiden show I won the contest to go on stage on the chorus of heaven can wait. With the cure I was in first row and Porl gave me his guitar pick! It's framed now in my room!! Great music, great times!!!
Awesome - thanks for posting these, only 2008 pro videos I've seen so far. I'm so happy to see that with Porl back they're playing the faster version of this a la Entreat version. Love that rhythm guitar part. With Perry this was kind of a snooze. If by some travesty the US shows finish off the main set with End instead of this, it would be a damn shame.
On May 28, 2008 I had to make a big choice btw goin to the Cure or Iron Maiden. Seen the Cure twice once in '89 and '92 but never Iron Maiden...Iron won and attended was awesome.

His wah pedal sound is part of the bands sound regardless of whether or not he relies on it or not. first hand I have seen them through various line up changes, and this was the best thus far. With Porl back, relying on wah wah, playing funk riffs...just like seeing...uhm.. the cure...
You can't fuck with Porl, His guitar sound is a huge part of The Cure. Perry held it down, but you cannot fuck with porl, looking like a psychedelic frank black meets present day boy george..he's amazing. He should play guitar solos and posture, they are his parts, he owns it. Cannot wait for MSG show tonight!

But inbetween and just like heaven he is also playing the keyboard parts!!! keep that in mind. On the other hand.. have you heard inbetween days and just like heaven with those tapes running in the backgruound.. tapes full of crap percussion sounds.. all thanks to Jason.

They all seem a little bored, but this is still the best arrangement of the song. Well, it's not exactly the same as the best arrangement (the version on Entreat with keyboards) but it's close. Nothing will top the Prayer Tour but I still think Perry is boring.

I can tolerate some Cure songs without keys... but not this. Keyboard's was a great loss. I miss Roger, he's a great musician and really fullfilled the band. By the way, I think Bob's voice sounds very out of shape and passionless.
this song has taken a turn for the worse in the last 10 years or so, ever since Robert stopped playing Bass VI on it and started playing guitar... ugh, there have been some macho guitar posturing solos that make me cringe... But Simon is was, and always will be the MAN. The backing keys are lame though, just get Perry back and have him play keys live as needed and guitar the rest of the time and everything will be PERFECT!
Perry and Porl are totally uncomparible. Porl fucking rips, Perry not so much....was glad to see him gone from lead guitar. I would agree though that he could be used on keys....
again, the only guy ruining everything here is jason. Poor choice in snares???? he has one of the most expensive kits in the world! his snares are DW and even Ludwigs. Boris used Ludwigs but has better technique and more experience in studio and live sound equipment, like mics, triggers and all of that. also his bass drum and toms can barely be heard! that sucks! just listen to Entreat and any bootleg from 1985-1992, and compare drum sounds.

i was there ¡¡¡¡ the Cure playing 1.000 meters from my house......... The next day i drove 350 km to see them in Madrid.
WXRT radio in Chicago just played a bunch of live Cure songs on Sunday (Aug. 5th, 2012). Sounded awesome !
This is my all time favourite song! and to see them perform this live this year at wembley was a dream come true for me
