Hello! I'm at Teesdale School again, with an unexpected (but very welcome) five minute break. So you may hear some violins in the background, but don't um let them bother you- they're only violins! I've grown to like strings a lot more, they were an ancient enemy when I was in the brass section of orchestras because the violins always asked us to be quiet! So we always asked them to be quiet! But I I like them very much now, yes and cellos.
Anyway! So we've got another vocal warmup this week and slightly more advanced this time. So we're going to focus again on our different gaps between our notes and we're going to have gap of next door notes called a second followed by a gap of a third, gap of a fourth, gap of a fifth and then all the way back home to the bottom note.
Okay and we're just going to do it to a nice 'la' and we're going to repeat the pattern going up a step every time. So don't worry if you get don't catch on straight away, you've got plenty of other attempts and you can always rewind me or start me again. So much easier to rewind thing these days isn't it? It's much easier than the ' 80s when you had to press the rewind button and all the tape would get itself knotted and it made a noise- things are better in many ways!
Okay, okay so here we are [Music] so no that's not the right [Music] gap 'la la la la la la la la la la la' going to do a couple of slower ones now because I'm racing ahead 'la la la' [Music]
Good, so I'm going to as always with my mid-range I'm still rehabilitating it after my surgery, so I I'm going to give that top one a bit more air -that's my answer to everything!
That's better, isn't it? The finger point can help sometimes if you think of your high notes as being further away rather than being up here, it can help you just give them that little bit of extra air boost that they need.
Okay, so try that one, it's quite advanced so don't worry if you don't catch on straight away. You can just take it nice and slow knowing that you've got all the different gaps in lots of different orders ready for your songs.
So let me know how you get on, any questions give me a shout and I hope to see you again soon. Bye!
