    Simple but brilliant...excellent tool to get our brains re-orieneted to "speaking cello" after speaking multiple other languages (work, kids, interpersonal relationships, etc.) through the course of our day

    BRAVO!! It's also a great way to calm your mind....to prepare for concentrated practice on the rep. at hand.

    My warm-up is similar. But starting on G major.
    Focussed on the bowing (my biggest "problem"), with 1 note/ bow, 4 notes/bow, 8 notes/bow. Mostly Octaves, sometimes on one string (as you played it)
    Mostly 3 times do you can focus on one aspect after another.😊

      Oh! Bowing 😂 That is always the biggest problem, not only for you, but for everyone. Sometimes including me 😂 Great warm up routine you have! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    Is it deliberate to play shorted up bows in your scales?

    I like your explanation on what to listen for. I’ve been doing a similar warm up and must confess I sometimes think it is too basic, but it works beautifully as warm up

      Yes it is true! It’s extremely basic but good to take our time to think about things! Thank you for watching!

    My teacher usually tells me to not course correct, but restart the wrong note trying to hit the right note, he says otherwise we are practicing how to make the mistake not how to make it right. What are your thoughts on that?

    • @IliaLaporevcellist
      @IliaLaporevcellist  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Your teacher has good point. And I wouls encourage to so the same. Somehow, when we are playing, and we play an out of tune note, we need to course correct so that the mistake we made is immediately ‘forgiven’. But of course we aim to get the right note straight away! But imagine, you are playing during a performance, and you did not hit that note, you have no other choice than course correcting. And it is a good skill to develop reaction and being quick. Otherwise, I completely agree with you!
