I think Chapter 4 was the healthiest for the game. Looked great but kept the cartoony style. Weapons felt awesome and were all super unique, (love the kinetic theme) map design was peak.
Personally, I’m not sure about that, but I think I can see why you think that. They really shouldn’t make the collabs overshadow everything original, but be along side it or make it perfectly fit a season’s overall theme.
I love Chapter 5 Season 2 a LOT, but I'll never know why they didn't just add some basic Greek God weapons in. Like give Aphrodite a Mythic Bow, and it make it like a Cupid bow or something. Or give Poseidon a big water beam that you have to charge up, or even a reskin of Doctor Doom's Plasma Ball.
Boring Medallions, They Removed Hit Scan, Marvel Season Felt Rushed & Unfinished, PC Players Ruined Season 3 About Cars, Storyline Is Dead, Dear God This Whole Chapter Felt Like A Giant Bag of Messiness & Staleness.
Honestly, I think it feels unfinished because it felt like they only made one major update per season and it always being each season launch most of the time. I think if they added more midseason updates on the level of the current Fortnitemares more often this chapter, maybe it wouldn’t have felt underwhelming or lifeless and make it more memorable, heck they could’ve done map changes that could relate to the overall storyline to make it feel more interesting or even important. Also, if they kept improving the chapter gimmick of Weapon mods or at least making them more accessible, maybe it could’ve changed the gameplay more and it not just being adding more weapons, Nerfing or buffing them.
I’m sorry if I typed this very poorly and it not making ANY sense, but long story short, let the game evolve and make, hopefully, future chapters more memorable like they could have for Chapter 5.

I feel like ch5 is just a throwaway, clearly, theyve had a lot of collab plans and felt more like a test of what epic can do. Not so much focused on gameplay but rather outside expansion.
Honestly this chapter had the best themes to make it one of the top tier chapters but the execution wasn’t there but all the seasons starts all had great start but just couldn’t get them to the finish line!!
Ch5 s1 was a really good season, ch5 s2 was almost good, ch5 s3 was really good, and ch5 s4 was really good look at all the great content we got this chapter because of the Metaverse We got TMNT, Pirates of the Caribbean, another Marvel season, web shop, creative x collabs, Fortnite Mares 2024, tons of mini events, more money being put into BR, Reload, the return of Klombo in Lego Fortnite, and much more so the Metaverse is a really good idea and it is really good to see BR being worked on more again along with story returning back unlike ch4 where ch4's story was all over the place as we went from Oathbound to Cyberpunk where we reunited the Syndicates to Jungle to heisting a time traveling Vampire's Time Machine to time traveling back to ch1 now time traveling and Heisting the Vampire were the only 2 that made sense as they corespond with each other but now this chapter the story is back and we are receiving mini events again and we are receiving a huge actual live event before next season all thanks to the Metaverse thankfully so live events are thankfully returning and yeah so ch5 is ending better than how it started and the fact this season we had the Doom battle event and now we have a huge live event before next season is actually insane so if you thought the Doom battle was the end of the chapter's story think again because we have a huge live event before next season that has its own mode too so yeah Fortnite Mares is the best holiday event in ch5 as WinterFest flopped and All Sweat Summer was just quests and free rewards
Seriously i was really disappointed with the story, each story of each season was just underwhelming, the first season could’ve been a cool spy and rebellion story, the gods had so much potential, and Megalo Don was not well developed and i felt like he had so much story in him, he was so strong that the gods had to put him in Pandora’s Box, and the marvel season does not count
I mean there's literally is a plot tho considering that live event that's coming in 13 days but at the same time, I get what you mean, doom just vanished after getting sprayed by a million flies and we don't know if he's coming back or not now at this point 😭

Ok new season let’s see what happened with the city, what? A new jungle this is so cool! And now in chapter 5 where OMG we have Greek gods this is so cool. Ok new season, wh- what happened to the gods oh wait a desert this is so cool! And people are starting to notice.

Then I got hyped for Season 2 only for that season and the rest to fall in a downward spiral of inconsistency. in season 1 and 2 i agree, the story was a little random, but in season 3 and 4 the story had an actual flow, we saw how megalo don came and how he disappeared and we saw how dr doom arrived and how he got defeated
Chapter 5 season 3 added more marvel collab skins (not including mash ups or battle pass) into the shop then this marvel season, last season we got the x men bundle and deadpool and wolverine this season we only got iron spider and iron man +mephistow
C5s1 was good but we didn’t realize yet loved the Meta loved the weapons (except friendzy auto) the boses were fun the map was so fun in my opinion and the battle pass was good ig it is a 6.9/10 BECAUSE OF PETER GRIFFIN loved the freshness of it loved how we had 5 medallions the end was balanced it was fun after we thought of it C5s2 not enough I was excited for all these Greek mythics but then all we had was 3 Greek mythics and then the only boss with a power was Zeus could have had more mystics for each god but we only had 3 and it was annoying I thought it was going to be this giant season with lots of fun mythics but it only had 3 and the Star Wars update only had 1 light saber and not enough br Star Wars stuff C5s3 meh was fun the first day but kept getting worse to overpowered and the battle pass was meh and again I thought it was gonna be better with this huge map change were more was wasteland themed there were leaks for new change of mount Olympus and new train but instead it had like 3 new pois over powered items C5s4 not enough could have had more mythics but only had stuff like gear not powers thought it would be better but it just feels like half of what I marvel season should be saved by Fortnite mares it feels like a lot of the rest of the map was forgotten but they had so many missed opportunities to make it a top 3 season
I'm certain that this chapter had a lot of hiccups going on behind the scenes at Epic which made what we actually got nothing compared to what the developers had initially planned, and my biggest example of this comes from it's last chapter with the Marvel themed season that I believe was going to initially be a Marvel vs. Capcom themed season, but because of various reasons it got changed into just being a Marvel themed season to focus on Dr. Doom and his involvement with the MCU.
I loved the first season, rhe collab items were pretty stinky but i kinda liked that, not too colab focused and pretty addictive with the vaults and balanced placement of medallions Every other season got too distraced by collabs which normally took over a seasons theme too much i do agree with the point ye, just wish each season stuck to the season they were ment to be

Ch5 s4 probably was supposed to have the Spider-Man mythic back, ch2 s4 mythics, and the ch5 s4 mythics but because of last season Fortnite actually had to change plans now the ch2 s4 mythics being updated probably was for Marvel X creative so if we see all Marvel mythics in creative and all Marvel POI'S in creative then we can make a better Marvel season
