Zodiac age wasn't the one people hated it was the original, I think it is because the writer of the game and creative director fell ill and had to be taken over by someone else for a time meaning the story is a little bit messy at points. A lot of the game's secrets are impossible to figure out without a guild back in the day internet guides were clunky, Data mining wasn't really used to great success either so you were either mostly going off of what other people had discovered or you bought the official guide which cost £25. The gambit system sort of meant the game would take play itself with minimum interaction leaving some boring repetitive battle dwelling the game down to a walking simulator at points. Personally it is my third favourite final fantasy so please understand the above is just an objective look some issue found in the game. Zodiac Age and 'normal' Final Fantasy 12 are kind of two completely different games though IMO. Like the story for the games are pretty dull IMO and FF12 had a lot of RNG bullshit in it, but at least Zodiac Age added a fun mechanic (the job system).
Geoff Bannister *shrug* Some people enjoy political intrigue in their fictional stories. As for RNG bullshit, there is nothing to suggest that RNG was implemented poorly in FFXII. A 5% chance of getting a great item from a chest as opposed to a mediocre one is not “bullshit.” What would be bullshit, however, would be if the chest had a 50% chance of exploding and and causing an insta-game over rather than giving you treasure. Ultimately, however, this is all moot... both your criticism and my rebuttal. Because one can easily guarantee that they will get Seitengrat without fail by manipulating the RNG. Point being that any frustration with RNG is frustration that is easily avoided in this game, and it’s not the poor little game’s fault that you can’t find an easier way to nab that super rare treasure.
My opinion would be for the OG game on PS2, the very same reason Darkkefka stated in his Top 10 Difficult to obtain items; literally everything. Every sidequest is tied to every other sidequest, which is tied to another sidequest leading to one of the superbosses. Not to mention obtaining the Tournesol which is strenuous as hell, and the Zodiac Spear that CANNOT be acquired without a guide.
I can't believe Alexander from Final Fantasy VII didn't make it! I hated going through the shifting snow fields just to dip my hands in the water to try and find the witch's cave.
I held off on ff12 until last year. I beat it twice, I actually liked it. There’s so many ways to break it and the gambits are a lot of fun. Plus doing rng manipulation later in the game felt like an intro to programming class lol great vid!!

Funny thing is, you understood every word that I said. In the past, many people hated on this video, said that I couldn't speak right. I simply blocked them because I know they where just being dicks..and I don't have time for those.
Shell does, in fact, reduce the chances of darkja inflicting Instant KO. It's same with other magic attacks that can inflict status ailments. If the status is coming from a spell as a side effect, then Shell reduces the chances of it happening.
Ah Zodiarch, I remember trying when I was 12 and stopped playing for a while. Then I played again when I was 15 and I finally managed to beat him. It was like the weight on my soul was gone
@@philipkinscherf7430 If I remember correctly, there's a gate that opens just after you beat him. It leads directly to the cristal. I almost didn't notice it.
I actually gave up on 100%-ing FF XII because of Zodiark. I had two things left to do in the game--get Zodiark, and defeat the bajillion HP optional boss, but Zodiark made me quit, and I still don't really regret quitting. There are a number of games that I've given more time than they even deserved (e.g. Star Ocean 4 platinum trophy), and I sometimes don't think I understand the value of my own time when I turn completionist.
as a uncle to three and the youngest is 2 years old, if at some point before i leave this earth and my youngest nephew would rather sit around all night on a friday night working towards a star ocean platinum, i will have done my job as a uncle lol
i went the whole vid screaming ZODIARK, and when you hit #2 i was doubting that you would put it in, then i heard the boss theme and knew it was going to be Zodiark, sorry it took so long to sub :)
Or Knights of the Round, W-Summon, and fill the rest with counter -> mime. (would put quadra magic in there but it doesn't work with KotR) I wonder if you would have enough MP.
In FFVII Alexander is the one that's hard to get. Knights of the Round, if you know what to do is easy to get. In FFX all the Aeons are easy to get, if you know how to get them.
I know these top 10 videos aren't easy to make , but they're really entertaining to watch and even rewatch . I really you upload more of these Maybe a top 10 hardest storyline bosses in Persona , easiest bosses in final fantasy , or something like that .
For Doomtrain it's also fair to mention how the Occult magazines are missable (some IIRC), and obviously few people had reliable access to the Internet back then. So people had to find Doomtrain on their own and then potentially share the info with everyone.
i love FF12 but i have to agree, getting all the Espers in the English version took forever, though once I got Zodiark i let out such a joy filled Yes that i scared my family
Honestly feel like you overlooked getting Odin in 4. The 1 minute time limit to beat him or your party is instantly wiped out really puts a damper on everything
Hey DK, I'm a huge fan and noticed you missed one of the summons from the FF 2 Snes America version. I got all the ones you mentioned imp bomb etc. But I got D. Machin in the final moon stage floors of the end of the game. His name was supposed to be D. Machine but something was lost in translation. He appears on screen and did a beam shot that could paralyze aoe. Once again love your videos!!!
I'm really sorry this happened. I'll make sure to watch the video until the end, share it and thumbs it up to get you some of its popularity back as much as I can.
If you follow the breeding guide for ff7 you can completely bypass having to race the chocobos, making it very easy to obtain. though the first time I did it the original way and yeah that is a pain to grind.
I Still put a Tie both FFT Zodiac Summons and FFXllZA Zodiark both difficult to obtain. FFT Zodiac have to make your way down those secret dungeon and you have to survive the Summons attack and beat the Final Level.
I feel like the fact that missing any of the destruction spheres, accidentally or because you might have not known they were necessary, means anima is unobtainable. But shouldnt be that high on the list id agree
7:04 I wonder if this clip was the start of your "666 Curse" that we would see in future videos? Also, you are not the only one there, I see that number a lot myself. Even on games as "kid-friendly" as Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Maker, and even Pokemon Sword and Shield!
hey DK, I got an idea for a new Final Fantasy Top Ten: best places to grind XP, items, or whatever. Im doing the older games and i need all the help i can get.
Nobody would believe me when I said Hecaton was incredibly hard. And those that played FFXIII with me back in the day cringed when I said you were forced to use Vanille as a Leader. ... yeah 😅 I already said this but I actually like Vanille a lot. And I always brought her in battle. Unfortunately I almost never used her as a leader due to the fact her HP isn't great by this point in the game... that and I sucked at healing in this game. Still, I eventually did beat it and you can guess how happy I was.
Sooo...about Zodiark... Funnily enough, in Zodiac Age, bosses aren't immune to Wither or Addle, so when you max out your foebreaker, every boss in the game becomes a pushover, including Zodiark, Yiazmat, and the 5 Judges. Anyway, I brought this up in the original upload (everyone hates Copyright strikes), but I didn't elaborate on it. Zodiark is WAY harder to get in Final Fantasy Tactics than it is in Final Fantasy XII, and here's why. First, you have to defeat Zalbag (so, at the end of the game), then you need to travel to the other side of the world to Warjilis, watch an optional cutscene, and then go to the Deep Dungeon. It's 10 floors against the strongest enemies in the game, and you can't see anything. In order to progress, you have to place a character on a specific square (which is randomly generated), and then actually win the fight. When you get down to floor 10, you have to fight Elidibis, the last Zodiac Demon. I estimated that this guy has about 2000 HP or so (it's random, and you can't check it), and he has several minions who can hit you with status effects like Frog and Stone. And no, beating this boss does NOT get you the summon. In order to get the summon, you need a Summoner with at least 70 (I think) Faith, and then you need the boss to cast Zodiac ON YOU! Assuming you survive (which you probably won't), it's a random chance that your character will learn it. And THEN you have to actually beat the boss, and once you finally finish the fight, assuming you did all that, you can finally master the Summoner job :D
I'm sorry but Doomtrain isn't hard to get. Eden is. You have to get all the way down to the last level of the Deep Sea Research Center and draw it from Ultima. And you have to win the fight because you can't run away. Which on top of that every enemy in the Research Center is at level 100, and you have to go through Bahamut first. On top of that even if you do defeat Ultima and don't draw Eden, you get a 2nd opportunity on disc 4 against Tiamat. But if you don't unlock the draw ability before fighting him, you can't get Eden. And if you do unlock the draw ability and defeat Tiamat and forget to draw Eden there too, you lost the GF. I will admit this is a great list but Doomtrain shouldn't be in this list, that should be Eden instead. Doomtrain's items are easily collected and none are missable.
Eden is pretty hard to miss really, Deep Sea Research Center isn't that bad, especially if you have Quistis she can instant-kill most of the ennemies with Degenerator simply put her on Low HP and give her Initiative and profit (this is also usable against Malboro so yeah because of that I also disagree with DK statement that Doomtrain is hard to get), not only that but there is a secret way to avoid the forced encounter. Ultima Weapon can be annoying if it decide to spam Light Pillar but this isn't an hard boss, and you should have plenty of time to steal Eden.
You got the selphie card? I never even bothered to card battle in that town, the random , plus, diff card, and elemantal rules in that town piss me off.
I love vanielle. She is so broken. She is my leader the majority of the time . When she is on the field I am always confident I can win. The only time she is replaced is when I'm using fang because high wind is god tier.
And yet trying to unleash Eden from ff8 isn't in there... not only did you have to slay bahamut, but the grind to get down all the flights of stairs and elevators to get to Ultima weapon were littered with things that annoy lvl100 characters. Thankfully one lucky lionheart rinsed it but I swear I had that fight 8-9 times and the first time round of completing it, I forgot to draw Eden out!!!
IMO FFXII is one the hardest games in existence. The original, not the nerfed version. I put 130+ hours on this game and still haven't beaten Yaz. Zodiark took me around a half an hour+ to beat. The kill shot was my last character alive (Penelo) with a god damn holy mote.. pure luck. The zodiac age, took me 30 seconds with a berserk Vaan, a Kumba, full genji. There is no comparing these 2 games. Because of the speed up setting and the damage cap removed, It's not even close. Playing both versions, the zodiac age felt like cheating. At times, it wasn't even fun. So I 100% agree with your #1.
I was playing it and using Blitzball as a way to hang out with my father, distract him from some crappy stuff going on. He likes to work the percentages. But man. I am so stuck on the Calm Lands. AGAIN. 🤦🏻♀️ I was grinding for months, since I’m a completionist. By killing a few fiends you can get a ton of Gil quickly. And yet... it’s so friggin boring I have to quit after half an hour. Maybe quarantine will make me bored enough to dive back in, but yikes. It’ll still hurt. 😫
Paul Hampton Exactly. A time will come where playing will help hold off the madness more than risk me breaking a controller, and I’ll wade back into the grinding. 😂 Although, I play it on Switch, and the controller seems to have enough of a delay that some mini games are impossible. The butterflies in Machalania and the lightening strikes in the Thunder Plains aren’t playable. My brother, who got the butterflies easily, couldn’t do it. I got the lightening strikes easily before and now, nope. Also, I never had issues with Tidus’s overdrives. It’s just timing. 🤷🏻♀️ But i have to press the button slightly before I would normally, on PS2, for it to work. Which works with him, as you can see that point coming up. But you can’t predict lightening strikes that precisely for that long before they pop up. So I may not get the celestial weapons either. As I’m a completionist, this hurts me. But I’m so overpowered, and I want to fashion some kickass weapons for them anyway, with gillionaire (a driving part of my need to grind for gil), triple OD, etc. So maybe I’ll just skip it on a few of them. At least I’m on track to get Wakka’s and Auron’s, and they’re the ones I care about. Cheers on whatever gaming you’re into now, and I hope it helps keeps your spirits up right now during the crisis.
Emerald and ruby weapon without using knights of the round ey? Sounds like a fun challenge, i was able to beat ozma and get ark on disk 3 after obtaining the hilda garde, defo agree with no: be the hardest to get, i could never find out how to get half of them
Ultima is tamed compared to fucking Zodiark! He used that damn Darkja killing my party every fucking time even when I have party members that are equipped with items that absorb dark
@@ladynikkie Zodiark can inflict InstaDeath and Blind too which is fucking annoying cause then you have to waste turns removing blind just so your party won't miss
Magus Sister's are definitely harder to obtain than Anima just for the simple fact that you need Anima in order to get them. And you need the celestial mirror.
Time consuming, not hard, if you know what your doing. Anima is easy to attain, unless it's your first playthrough and didnt get all the destruction spears. By the time your ready to get the magus sisters, your so powerful that defeating all of belgamines aeons is a walk in the park.
##1 !!!!!!!! Zodiark was biiiiiiiit$hhhhh!!! Had so much fun fighting those bosses and espers in FF12 That tunnel to him was hell!!! Love Ashe for her Scathe. When I did defeat him, I did my happy dance along with yelling. One of my most favorite and satisfying gamer moments. He is the true last boss of the game.

Well I heavily over estimated the strength of the monsters so I grinded a lot. I'd defeated the adamantoise so many times and got the growth egg before fighting hecatonchier so for me he was pretty easy.
i believe you forgot to mention 3 very important facts about obtaining anima 1 the chamber where you find him is protected by the giant mutant fish that you encounter before you meet rikku for the first time you can only use her tidus and wakka for the fight he can use a move called stone punch which can petrify you this is a problem because if you get petrified underwater you shatter and get removed from the fight with no way to be revived if you kill the boss while he has devoured one of your party members he will spit them out as a kamakazie attack that deals 9999 damage to all three of your teamates which wil most likely kill you 2 if you survive you will need to be certian that you have opened every chest in each cloister of trials this can be troublesome because this includes the trial in beveille which has 2 treasure chests is a rather complex maze where you need to plan ahead and do everything just right because unlike the others you only have one chance to clear this one when you arrive as part of the story the game never tells you any of this so if you don't save before going in and rush through without opening both chests you will have to either load an earlier save file or start the entire game from scratch also you cannot even look for him untill you get the airship after defeating yunalesca the coornadaties for the temple are tricky to find i have had to look them up twice just to be sure
wayne julian bevelle isn’t missable. They place the destruction sphere chest right in your path as you’re walking out. If anyone chooses to ignore that chest or simply doesn’t “see” it right in from of them. Then they don’t deserve anima
@@phillicus bevelle's trials are confusing unless you already know how the platforms work and how to get the destruction sphere and where to use it when you do if you go in blind you cant clear it in the way you need to to get anima on top of that you need to make sure you are holding 2 bevelle spheres at the end (1 in your hand the other in the pedastal because otherwise you wont be able to reach the chest with the knight lance and if you mess up you can only redo the part with the pedastal once or if you walk too far the right at the end of the cloister you will be forced out by the next cutsecne that plays need i remind you that you only get one chance to do this one right unless you have the forethought to save before going in by the way this advice is for casual players i have obtained anima on both the orginal ps2 and ps3 hd remaster versions of ffx so trust me i know exactly what i am talking about i do apologize for not saying that the facts i mentioned are meant to remind veteran players and serve as a friendly warning for those who may enjoy the game and would like to claim anima for themselves once they figured out they can
" It's almost like they designed the game so you would buy the guide. " Well... yeah. They did this with FF IX as well, and the damn guide was incomplete/inaccurate. But there was a fix: remember square's PlayOnline? Yep. To be fair though, FF XII was started by Matsuno and finished by another team, so that's probably another reason for the lack of info.

Funny thing is, you understood every word that I said. In the past, many people hated on this video, said that I couldn't speak right. I simply blocked them because I know they where just being dicks..and I don't have time for those.
@@Darkkefka ...
gil is so easy to make in ff7 just master your all materia and you will never run out
@@Darkkefka anyone who has played it, and got all their chocobos understood exactly what you were saying

I'm so happy you included those pain in the butt espers from ffxii. Not many people include that title in their lists
Rialy Andriamiseza it took me several times to beat him. Then I beat him and died on the way back.

Star Ocean 4 platinum trophy), and I sometimes don't think I understand the value of my own time when I turn completionist.
as a uncle to three and the youngest is 2 years old, if at some point before i leave this earth and my youngest nephew would rather sit around all night on a friday night working towards a star ocean platinum, i will have done my job as a uncle
lol
“This place is one gigantic maze and guess what there no fucking map” lol
i went the whole vid screaming ZODIARK, and when you hit #2 i was doubting that you would put it in, then i heard the boss theme and knew it was going to be Zodiark, sorry it took so long to sub :)
Whats more OP than Knights of the Round?
Knights of the Round + Mimic 😂
You could go make dinner before the first one would be finished casting.
@@jerry1dc 🤣
Knights of the Round + (Mime x 4)
Or Knights of the Round, W-Summon, and fill the rest with counter -> mime. (would put quadra magic in there but it doesn't work with KotR) I wonder if you would have enough MP.
In FFVII Alexander is the one that's hard to get. Knights of the Round, if you know what to do is easy to get. In FFX all the Aeons are easy to get, if you know how to get them.
Yeah, I only got Alexander on a recent play through.
@@Cloud9999Strife I've gotten him a bunch of times over the last 20 years. But he's a pain in the ass to get.
I know these top 10 videos aren't easy to make , but they're really entertaining to watch and even rewatch . I really you upload more of these
Maybe a top 10 hardest storyline bosses in Persona , easiest bosses in final fantasy , or something like that .
Agreed. Zodiark was ridiculous hard. Sheesh
For Doomtrain it's also fair to mention how the Occult magazines are missable (some IIRC), and obviously few people had reliable access to the Internet back then. So people had to find Doomtrain on their own and then potentially share the info with everyone.
I was subscribed to Gamepro magazine back in the day several issues had a walkthrough of ff7 and FFA that helped me out a lot.
The official strategy guide even set aside two or three pages for how to get doom train, great summon though and always useful.
Despite all copyright claims ! I still hope you upload more of these countdowns! I am a fan of your channel ^_^
Oh my beloved ffxii... it’s good to see this game getting the hate it deserves lol
My favorite entry of them all, behind ff tactics (of course).
i love FF12 but i have to agree, getting all the Espers in the English version took forever, though once I got Zodiark i let out such a joy filled Yes that i scared my family
Honestly feel like you overlooked getting Odin in 4. The 1 minute time limit to beat him or your party is instantly wiped out really puts a damper on everything
His HP is only around 20,000 so that's not really difficult to do...
I really Enjoyed the Phoenix cave! :)
FFT Zodiac have to make your way down those secret dungeon and you have to survive the Summons attack and beat the Final Level.
surviving the summon can be tricky if you aren't familiar with how faith works in the game, which was definitely true for me when I played as a kid.
tactics is so easy to break its nothing compared to zodiark
Awesome video DarkKefka, keep making Final Fantasy Great Again!
If I didn’t have the strategy guide, I wouldn’t have been able to stand a chance against Chaos and Ultima. I didn’t even attempt Zodiark.
Without it, most of us cant even get to them
I was surprised to see anima considering how easy the cloister of trials are
I feel like the fact that missing any of the destruction spheres, accidentally or because you might have not known they were necessary, means anima is unobtainable. But shouldnt be that high on the list id agree
can you just back track?
Hecatoncheir was a nightmare to beat and when I finally beat him after 10 tries and a lot of grinding I realised he was useless XD
Only one that doesn't heal!!
Still haven't beaten zodiark till this day now with the zodiac age out i should be able to but still pain to get to
Wait, why did they get hit with copyright claims? Doesn't make sense to me...
Welcome back DK.
Sucks about the copyright crap, DK. Looking forward to your new Top 10's though!
Damn. Even if you use Vanille like I did, the Hecatoncheir is still a murderous boss.
Hecatoncheir is an absolute asshole. He hits like a damn freight train. And he’s pretty smart too
I'm still trying to remember how I figured out how to get the Knights of the Round before the internet told you literally everything.
Probably the chocobo sage. That's how I managed to get the gold chocobo. Expensive as all hell though.
the strategy guide maybe?
Nobody would believe me when I said Hecaton was incredibly hard.
And those that played FFXIII with me back in the day cringed when I said you were forced to use Vanille as a Leader.
... yeah 😅
I already said this but I actually like Vanille a lot.
And THEN you have to actually beat the boss, and once you finally finish the fight, assuming you did all that, you can finally master the Summoner job :D
tactics zodiark is easy just use mana shield with 97 brave and move mp up to get the summon and use math skill and orlandu to kill the trash mobs
Good stuff as always DK
Was I the only one who noticed that Odin cuts through Phoenix Tower enemies like butter?
Awesome content! Must have taken ages to get through it all :D
hopefully another top 10 soon could be anything always enjoy those videos from your perspective dk
I'd like to see top *useless* summons in final fantasy
Pretty much all FFX with the exception of Anima, Yojimbo, and Magus Sisters.
You got the selphie card? I never even bothered to card battle in that town, the random , plus, diff card, and elemantal rules in that town piss me off.
Ultima and that crystal world. Really hate it, No map, Confusing and huge area, hard to get danjuro. What a pain in the ass
I beat zodiark my first time trying...all other new games on ff12 ive somehow nit been able to beat it...alao im a completionist hehe.
Preform the act of incest 😂😂😭 you got me dead
cant wait to see more final fantasy top tens
I love vanielle. She is so broken. She is my leader the majority of the time . When she is on the field I am always confident I can win. The only time she is replaced is when I'm using fang because high wind is god tier.
So just so we’re clear, is it possible to get Ark without defeating Ozma?
yes
And yet trying to unleash Eden from ff8 isn't in there... not only did you have to slay bahamut, but the grind to get down all the flights of stairs and elevators to get to Ultima weapon were littered with things that annoy lvl100 characters. Thankfully one lucky lionheart rinsed it but I swear I had that fight 8-9 times and the first time round of completing it, I forgot to draw Eden out!!!
I am still playing the FFX ps2 original
I’m playing Final Fantasy XIII for the first time and I just got by Hecatoncheir and I damn near broke my controller. Took me like 20 tries. 😅
I think Anima is much harder than Heca #3.. I didnt have any problem obtaining him before unlike Anima I spent a lot of time just to get him
IMO FFXII is one the hardest games in existence.
Final Fantasy 10... I cannot go through that again 😳
@@SunflowerSpotlight
Whatever passes the time,right?
It was the celestial weapons and their sigils and crests that I can't go through again
Paul Hampton Exactly. A time will come where playing will help hold off the madness more than risk me breaking a controller, and I’ll wade back into the grinding. 😂
Although, I play it on Switch, and the controller seems to have enough of a delay that some mini games are impossible.
Cheers on whatever gaming you’re into now, and I hope it helps keeps your spirits up right now during the crisis.
it took me a while to get zodiark; im only miss chaos and ultima; which i prob will never get.
I find summons really fun to use so I always make sure to find all of them lol
YES ZODIARK.. super agree
Emerald and ruby weapon without using knights of the round ey? Sounds like a fun challenge, i was able to beat ozma and get ark on disk 3 after obtaining the hilda garde, defo agree with no: be the hardest to get, i could never find out how to get half of them
I Love ff 12 its my favorite but Ultima fucked me UP. I nearly cried
You should talk about Top 10 Final fantasy Main protags. As in the main character we walk around with I.e Cloud, Tidus, Squall etc etc
@@Mike-ix5sv I never said it was hard. Just harder than Anima.

Hiders heart yes its really tough, the boss battle in this game is almost unfair .
@Ultimatefighter343 yes , i know it, but i don"t recommend it for people who wanna start playing final fantasy for the first time , because it isnt that easy at first.

Knights of that round isn't hard. Just time consuming it's the easiest OP summon/spell to get
I kept wondering when ffxii was going to show up. I am not disappointed that they are first.
I actually got the Goblin summon early in the game without grinding.
Yeah it all about luck.
I mean how can they claim copyright, when you're not claiming it as your creation?
I mean you make what? A few cents a video? Thats not a reason to copyright strike you.
Lop hecatonchier is exactly where i stopped playing ff13
Well I heavily over estimated the strength of the monsters so I grinded a lot. I'd defeated the adamantoise so many times and got the growth egg before fighting hecatonchier so for me he was pretty easy.
I cant always understand your commentary, otherwise loving the video and ff love.
i believe you forgot to mention 3 very important facts about obtaining anima 1 the chamber where you find him is protected by the giant mutant fish that you encounter before you meet rikku for the first time you can only use her tidus and wakka for the fight he can use a move called stone punch which can petrify you this is a problem because if you get petrified underwater you shatter and get removed from the fight with no way to be revived if you kill the boss while he has devoured one of your party members he will spit them out as a kamakazie attack that deals 9999 damage to all three of your teamates which wil most likely kill you 2 if you survive you will need to be certian that you have opened every chest in each cloister of trials this can be troublesome because this includes the trial in beveille which has 2 treasure chests is a rather complex maze where you need to plan ahead and do everything just right because unlike the others you only have one chance to clear this one when you arrive as part of the story the game never tells you any of this so if you don't save before going in and rush through without opening both chests you will have to either load an earlier save file or start the entire game from scratch also you cannot even look for him untill you get the airship after defeating yunalesca the coornadaties for the temple are tricky to find i have had to look them up twice just to be sure
wayne julian bevelle isn’t missable.

Well... yeah. They did this with FF IX as well, and the damn guide was incomplete/inaccurate. But there was a fix: remember square's PlayOnline? Yep.
To be fair though, FF XII was started by Matsuno and finished by another team, so that's probably another reason for the lack of info.
Il have to agree with zodiarc I have the zodiac age and I’m at lvl 60-70 and I still can’t beat him

you're right Zodiark is totally luck based. I beat him once. ONCE! (On my first try, no less) Then in subsequent playthrough I wasn't ever able to beat him again.
