Blessings to you all! I‘m a new subscriber living in North Texas as I continue my pilgrim journey on to my eternal Heavenly home. I am so very happy for your family to be living such a wonderful life. It will involve much hard work and possibly some hardships, but I know that your Heavenly Father will supply all of your needs and the strength to meet the challenges. May the good Lord greatly bless and keep you and your beautiful family. Thank you for your 14 years of sacrificial service as a police officer. 🇺🇸🙏

Congratulations! So beautiful... In 4 weeks my Husband and I will be moving to our new home that sits on a whopping 1.11 acre but it is heaven. Right now we live in a subdivision on a Cul de Sac. We are empty nesters in a 3 story home and cannot wait for the peace and quiet (and no stairs..lol) No close neighbors. Stay safe and well...

Another great video from you folks. A great piece of property for your family! 20 acres! WOW.
We have 9 acres just to the west of you in Eastern Washington, We live just about a mile inside of Washington state. We are both retired and enjoying our little slice of heaven to us! 7 of our acres was planted in mixed grass hay, and although we have no farm animals, we have kept it that way. We donate the hay to a local charity just to the north east of us just over the border. He has been cutting, bailing and hauling the hay away for several years. He is actually doing a favor doing a favor for us, as he is removing a fire hazard from our property. He has averaged getting up to (14) 6' round bales at each cutting. Keep up the good work.

Sooooo Jealous! You guys are living my dream as I sit here in an office in NYC. Smart to teach your children yourselves. Public schools just indoctrinate and dont really teach, especially here in NY.
You have true freedom as God meant us to have. Humans pile on top of each other in cities to make money, but the real wealth is out in nature just living and appreciating Gods gifts.
I hope you all stay happy and healthy, and live life to its fullest. Perhaps a skylight in the big barn to gaze through at night!

Much respect!! I’m originally from the USA, but trying to convince my wife to go off grid and move to Morocco. She has family there and we currently have land with olive and date trees. I know it will be out of her comfort zone since she grew up in France.
Hopefully I can sell the dream over the next couple of years. I’m tired of corporate and want to be free.

Absolutely! As most of our 13 children have moved out of the house, we plan on selling and moving to Canada. My birth was Alberta, working for the petroleum industry. The wife teaches Public School, yet after several close encounter's with shootings, is ready to retire. Best of luck with Morocco! I understand the Politics are a little shady, but they couldn't any worse than the White House?

Farming is in my blood and I can tell you that you guys have purchased a very good and beautiful piece of land that you will be able to do with whatever you want too on it. The life of a farming and country living is not easy and has its days but in the end when you look back at all you have achieved it sure is worth it and your children will gain an education and living off the land and being self-sub stainable that can not be taught in any classroom. Happy country and farming living to all of you. 😃 Welcome to the farming and country living community.

As I as thinking about what you are accomplishing , I thought of the year I needed to put a new roof on my house. I bought all the shingles, carried them up the ladder , laid them on the ridge, set and nailed the first couple rows, then got my kids up on the roof to help. I had instructed them about how to nail, start a new run make sure to stagger joints, and then started carrying them as my so laid them down and my daughter nailed them with an air nail gun. I showed them how to do flashing around the chimney, put the new flange around vent pipes and lay out the valleys. In the end , they now had an experience none of their other friends gad ever encountered and had knowledge of shingling a roof. We all had the pride of accomplishment as a family working to make home better. God Bless you and your family.

@@jebfallen Not everyone in California lives that culture. When people pull their heads out of their asses and see that there is a large part of California that do not agree with any Culture you may negatively describe, perhaps you may change your tune about those escaping this shit-hole.
We don't live thinking that people shitting on sidewalks, dumping syringes in gutters or having safe injection sites is the answer. We also believe that taxation is theft, collecting rain water is not something the state can legislate legally, and we believe that Democracy should never be a word used to describe our Country!
We are guaranteed a Republican form of Government under our Constitution, therefore any word siding with Democrats should be deemed unconstitutional.

On my journey as well, building a true log cabin with 11" tall 6" thick
dove tail notched logs. I shopped around a lot of the "kit" companies
and figured they were getting the logs somewhere... so found out on my
own a sawmill in TN that supplies logs cut with enough dove tails for 4
corners on a 9' wall. I basically ended up getting a lot of the
"upgrades" that the kit company was selling for their base log price. It
pays to shop around! Been saving up and paying cash as I go. Doing most
of the work myself on weekends and after work. Cleared the lot with a
chainsaw and stump grinder myself. Started about 5 yrs ago on the land,
2.5yrs on the cabin so far. I have electrical ready for inspection and
plumbing will be done soon. Now I would NEVER suggest doing this if you
don't have good resources for information... I have a brother and a
father that can answer just about any building question I have. I have
only needed to contract out my foundation, roof and hvac so far... all
the rest was done by me, including setting every log. I watch your
videos for motivation as one day, I'd like my wife and I to move ID, WY
or MT to do another cabin build. GOOD LUCK!

First, Happy Mother's Day ❤ Melissa!! Thank you 😊 for taking us along while you explore your beautiful property especially for the most part for the family's first time . I love your idea of building a pond so you can do your own fishing adding to the possibility of hunting for your own food! I can see now why you picked that spot for the house and your garden is perfect. It looks like 👍 things are progressing right along. I look forward to seeing the building of your tiny home inside the pole pole barn. Jeremy I hope you do a little something special for Melissa since she is doing such a wonderful job raising 💖 those beautiful children ❤!!!!

I’ve seen of the grid hydroelectric set ups involving creeks no bigger than yours with water wheels that are only about a foot in diameter. If that creek is year-round, it might be worth your time to build a small wheel house to harness hydroelectric power.
I’ll try to find the exact video I saw it in for you.

Great idea but could result in some downstream issues and biological threats. I think solar would be enough for them, especially with the federal tax credit and the depreciation schedule

The garbage is not necessarily from camping. Back when the throwaway society started, people had a dump site in an out of the way place on their property.

    • @davidsnow9453
      @davidsnow9453 4 ปีที่แล้ว

That's true where their were small towns located near by a dump site, but generally they'd just wagon it down the road a half mile from town. But more often on isolated homesteads and ranches they burned it first in a burn barrel or even an earthen dig in the ground and kept adding to it, they didn't want it attracting rats and skunks etc. However prospectors, and miners were nortorius for discarding everything with in a hundred yards of an area they were working and living. There doesn't appear to have been any little town type settlements close enough to them, and none of the items seemed to be charred as if burned and having come from a long gone possible close by homestead at one time. I could be wrong but my hunch is it came from prosecutors. There very well could be a dig sight somewhere around that knoll, and a hundred and fifty years ago that little spring could have even been a creek that was being panned and worked, with the main feed having been diverted away from the property years ago. I've done a lot of exploring and going through old town dumpsites from the 1800's aswell as old mining camp dumpsites. You can take those old rusty cans and brush a little hydrochloric acid on them and rinse them off with a hose and some of the colors and wording will pop right out at ya. And make for nice shelf decor. Having worked in the waste industry years ago I was fascinated with old dump sites and pursued exploring them as a hobby but it certainly doesn't make me an archeological expert by any means. Hopefully they get a chance to dig into the trash and investigate it more thoroughly sometime and can keep us posted. Have a good day my friend.
