My wife and I are 25 with backgrounds in civilian law enforcement and the military. We have been following your family’s journey for about two years now. Please know that your content to include the podcast is so inspiring and relatable to some of us in the younger generations. We currently own a home in a HOA, however, as a result of your videos, we have started saving to hopefully one day purchase land and create a homestead of our own. We absolutely love the weekly videos and the dreams that populate for us from watching. Thank you to you both for the continued content! Cheers from MN!
Congratulations on purchasing more land. So inspired seeing you and your daughter canning. Most young people don't have the desire to learn this. It will make for sustainability in the future. You three got in some outdoor gym time.
My son and daughter in law home school their kids in Rexburg Idaho. It's great you home school your kids. Good job for purchasing more property debt free. Congratulations.
I know your final comments seem a bit sappy to many of us at times, but once we remove our macho tags, we can admit you are hitting the mark. Keep reminding us of what life is all about. Very well done!!!
Lookin at your horse barn roof, I can't help but think of the prime real estate for rain water. Have you ever considered a rain catchment system? Tractor Supply has a 1500 gal for $1500. Rhough I'd suggest more like 25K gal tank or so. You'll never have to rely on outside agencies ever. Just put a good filter on it because the stuff in the skies will be in it. Sending you tons of love and happiness ❤
Would love to see you add rain catchment barrels next to the barn. Lots of square footage there and you’d get so much rain/snow melt to use on the garden, etc. Looks great!! Congrats on expanding the homestead!! ❤️❤️
So beautiful to watch children being children. Playing in trees like movies from the 1920's and 30's with careless abandon. Amen this is the life. I hope your children recognize just how lucky they are!
Good afternoon my loving Idaho family 🫶!!! Congratulations on your new expanded land!! I have no doubt that your future generations will run through those fields as your children do now!! This week I ask for your sincere prayers for my family. For personal reasons I can’t get into details but my daughter and granddaughter need all the prayers they can get… I’m still not well myself but they need prayers worse than I do. I carry each of you in my heart and ALWAYS in my prayers …I pray by the time we meet next week that their situation is better… until then🙏🏻🙌🏻♥️🙌🏻🙏🏻
Amazing opportunity but to get land debt free makes it so much more rewarding. You guys are an inspiration. I love what you have built for your family. Gorgeous property!
Congrats on everything! The new land and the new baby! So awesome, God truly has mysterious ways! And we just bought our forever home in Salmon, ID, so working on moving next year! I fall more in love with Idaho everytime I'm there! Can't wait til we get our move done!
Wow guys! After watching this week’s video. My wife decided to take a walk down memory lane and watch some of the original Idaho videos beginning with Jeremy installing the gate and pouring the foundation for the house. Just seeing your kids back then put a tear in both of our eyes realizing how much they’ve all grown so much. Times flying fast guys! Embrace this time together always. Blessings and love ya guys. Steve and Tina (Ontario Cal)
@GoodSimpleLiving Congrats 🥳 You should not only do a pond… Do a NATURAL SWIM POND!!! Look them up. They are amazing. Natural, pure, fish, swimming, water feature and falls, incredible!!! So much cooler than a cement pool! 🤩
Wow great news on the extra land self reliant is so important to you to be able to live off the land iis great work as always it’s. Great watching your family grow till nxt week much love from Tenerife❤❤❤❤❤❤ 19:09
We burned firewood for 45 years in our ranch home in northern Michigan. The wood stove was in the unfinished basement, directly across from the stairway & the heat would gravity feed up the stairway. We kept 3 dry firewood cords in the basement all the time. It was wonderful to have warm floors all winter long. The issue is that it is very messy & dirty, the firewood bark comes off & makes a mess, spiders, flies, ants etc live in, on, and around the firewood. Personally, I would not store the firewood inside the house. The garage would be a great choice for storage. Where have you stored it in previous winters? What about an outdoor wood burner? It would heat the whole house & there would be no dirt or mess
👍 Your commentary at the end is filled with love, grace, and appreciation ❤ It's always a treasure and blessing to watch your videos. What a beautiful family 🫶 and hugs to Luto🐾
I love the; Begining, Middle & End. Of everyone of their videos. Dogs are so lucky to have 4 legs. God saw fit to give me 2. Lost 100% of my right leg September 2009. VA gave me a Canadian Cain 15 years ago. Allows me to maintain my 3 points. It's my Cains, Quincena! Eventualmente, my wheelchair will have Flames & a Joy Stick! 😂 I love how You build things. To me Your Biggest Build, is Your FAMILY! MUCH LOVE, GRANDPA Rick (USA/Nicaragua)
Have you ever watched "Ranching Sodak?" His son makes these mats out of old tires to sell for protecting muddy surfaces. It might be something that interests you. They work great!
Congrats on the new property guys! You so deserve it. Livin the dream :) That is what my dad did when I was a kid. We bought a 23-acre Christmas tree farm, and then 4 years later, we bought an additional 61 acres that were attached to the original 23 acres. Dad expanded his Christmas tree farm, and we ended up with almost 85 acres total and a much bigger tree farm (which meant a lot more work for me too lol). You did not say how many new acres you bought? Please let us know, we ALL want to know. It has finally cooled off up here in N. Saskatchewan too, and temps going below 0 for the 1st time this fall tonight. Winter is coming for sure. Poor little Ludo...he handled it like a champ. As always, sending love from our acreage to yours.
I found your channel when you sold your house and moved. Due to everything going on in the world at that time, I thought they are so lucky to be leaving the rat race. Crazy but lucky, the washing machine outside, the camper in the shop, the tiny house build, all of it. Be proud!!!!
My wife Carol and I are so excited for you guys. What is come to be one project has turned into a bunch more projects for the future and a lot more love for your family to have! We love you guys we hope you stay safe and as we've learned this past week surviving a hurricane, you can never be too prepared!
With the Area of your Gutters you should have a Couole of water Tanks to catch all that water & Utilize it for your Horses @ that end of your Property 👌🐎🐎❤❤ Might as well saves on $$ Useing your Own Water Catcher System is a Fantastic Way to Be on Your Own & just another Way to Be Self Relient..
Hi guys…congrats from Canada on the new property…your view is my and my husbands dream to…lol…btw how about using that water and snow run off to drain into a water tote and use it for watering the horses and animals…. Ignore all the haters they aren’t with the heart ache…You and your beautiful family are perfect just the way you are…lot of luv sent your way😊
Have you thought of water catchment? Not sure if you have a well or not, but this could help with water for gardens and animals. Just a thought that popped in my crazy brain, do t remember what your process is… Congrats on the new land purchase! Can’t wait to see your new projects! 🥰🙏🏽✌🏽🫶🏽🌻💛
Congratulations!! This is why when the opportunity came up to buy our 101 acres, we grabbed it. Now our big decision is where to build our kids homes where it doesn't take up too much of our hay production. Such an amazing problem to have!!
Every Saturday I take a trip to Idaho and share in the Adventures of one of my favorite families. Your videos are wholesome, loving and inspiring. I truly am very happy to be apart of witnessing your journey. I loved the closing. Time keeps moving. We do our best to leave behind for the generations to come. God bless You.❤
Congrats on the new acquisition. Thanks for showing us how the gutters are done. Never knew that. It's amazing how quickly Ludo is growing. You can literally see the difference from week to week. Always appreciate all that y'all share with us, but it's those little nuggets of wisdom at the end that are my favorites. Love or fear...which will win? May we always choose love.
All of your great grandchildren and beyond that hopefully live on the land have such a huge gift with all of your videos to see how it was started and be able to get to know their great grandparents n great great etc... through your videos.

A horsebarn I used to go to found a source for shredded car tires to use to keep down mud in parking and traffic areas. You wouldn't have gotten as much firewood without GOOD DOG SUPERVISION.
Awesome video, glad you were able to get more land there for future builds. Glad you had so much fun around there gathering firewood and cleaning up hazards on the property. So happy for you all and your Heaven On Earth and your dream world. Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Fred.
That looks great that you have increased the size of your property, can't wait to see all that you do with it. The barn does look good, I still would love to see you put lights in the two housing that's on top of the roof. Good luck in all that you do, love from Mike. ❤
Wow what a great video ! That is good you got the horse barn fixed for the snow coming ! Also getting more firewood 🪵 in for the Winter ! The kids looked like they were really having a good time out there. Looks like the Pantry is getting filled up with canning food . Those shelves are very pretty . Well I guess a Big Congratulations is in order for your Land Buy 🥳🎊🎉🎈That is just amazing 🙏🙏. Looking forward to next weeks video. Hope you all have a Blessed week. God Bless you all and remember to be careful and stay safe out there 🙏🙏🙏🙏 🥰👍🥰🙏

Anyone watching this video can see how great a job you two have done with these kids. How many kids do you know are not only willing to watch Mom to learn how to can veggies, but to actually get in there and help. That is truly amazing.....she is growing way too fast!
i suppose it rains/snows a lot in idaho, but you should consider making a water tank that gets filled with the water recolected from the gutters or water, and use it either for consumption or other uses. Much love from Spain! PD: Sorry for my english, it is a bit rusty
My brother has his barn gutters with an extension that runs right into his horse troughs, so they have water all the time, except during peak of summer. No need to fill water troughs in Northern Oregon. Works brilliantly
Hi Alan, we are. I’m from North the north so let me explain something to you. Get yourself some heated lines you can put inside the gutters so when the water comes off the gutters and it doesn’t freeze in the gutters, you can run it off instead of spot when you run the water off the car, make sure to run down the backside of the house Down the backside of the bar towards the woods into the jellies of auntie land this way here the money I’m just trying to help you

It can be used as drinking water for the horses and watering gardens etc. Seems like a lot of water to be catched from that roof. 👍😊
Time for a skidding winch for the tractor. Make a few cuts where the tree fell, then drag using winch up close to the road. Work smarter, not harder. (also keeps ankle and knee sprains to a minimum.)

Are you going to set up a water catch all for the water coming off the roof? This would be a good water source for the garden.
I was thinking the same thing. Even just having water for the horse troughs.
Congrats on the new land.

How many acres in the new purchase?
Yes, you mentioned 20 acres was your original lot size. Are you able to share how much land you added?
I wondered the same thing
Me too
@bigjimstream, great question. The only detail I heard was roughly 50% forest, 50% pasture. Wondering myself. Very happy for them to add it on.😊😊😊
@@tonymccreath4540 It's kind of a personal question but since they decided to share the first plot size I thought maybe I just missed it.

Maybe you can harvest the rain and snow water into a tank for water for the animals...
So, why not start a rainwater storage system from the gutters? Also, French drains outside the barn?
