    What a great choice to give Nevaeh some independence and space by allowing her to live in the tiny house once you’re done with the big house

    • @ryeburlow1176
      @ryeburlow1176 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm for a first day on this channel but do you really think this is a great choice/idea. Imagine a new house is being built for the whole familly and you are left living a cross of it. She'll miss plenty of happy familly moments and me personally thinks 17 is too early to live all by yourself. I think they should ask her and made sure it is her choice, but still make a room for her in the familly house if she changes her mind.

    • @MinneApLaray
      @MinneApLaray 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ryeburlow1176 they probably will have a room she can use in the main house as well. I'm guessing they are allowing her to live in the tiny house because she's been around her siblings most likely watching them and such.

    • @Rebekahlavy
      @Rebekahlavy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ryeburlow1176 at 17 I would’ve loved it. You are wanting that type of independence and there are many 17 year olds who do move out from home. She is still nearby and will probably sleep in the big house too if she felt lonely

    • @ryeburlow1176
      @ryeburlow1176 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Rebekahlavy They are in remote location, not in the city. It's not like she can invite often friends to spend the night with. But i was talking more about the significant moment of building the new house and she should have a room there for sure.
      At 18 I went away studing, it has positive and negative sides to be away from your familly, like everything in life.

    • @WarmongerYT
      @WarmongerYT 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ryeburlow1176 ...I imagine she will be "allowed" to be in the main house all day every day. But what 17 year old wouldn't want their own house?! Are you kidding me?! How blessed & cool is a teenage girl to have her own space like that. Not to mention will prepare her for when she gets her own home. Also not to mention inviting friends over especially with younger siblings- she can have a place for her&friends to all hangout. & Idk what you mean 17 is too young. People used to get married & still have babies at 16 even. (Obviously not saying people should have babies at 16) but just saying a 17 yr old is fully capable of living in a separate space/house that her you can throw a rock from her parents

      I’ve seen steps in tiny homes that use every space possible for storage. That includes steps leading to loft bedrooms. It would be a great place to store seasonal items like Christmas decor or even winter items. I really like things you can use for multiple things.

      Utilizing the space that the steps provide for drawers is one of the wisest uses of space in a home that is rarely ever put to good use! They're great for toys for the kids and family board games. I like to use them for over flow items such as extra dishes, place settings, blankets and the list is never ending!

    I have been going all the way back and rewatching your journey. I'm just so impressed by your drive and passion for a better life, and personally, I understand how emotional it is, moving from a place where you had all your babies and the years of beautiful memories there, then selling, moving, and starting over from the ground up. I see some of the most precious new memories being made where you are now, and the whole family dynamic that you all have working together is so much fun to see, especially with your big house build, and with the obstacles that have come up and the attitude of getting it or them addressed and plucking along and not ever giving up. I look forward to all of your updates. It's so great that you guys allow people like me to join in on this great journey with you, even if only once or twice a week. I can't help but to love you all. Hope your week has gone well.

    You have a great family!! You do great work and your homestead is wonderful! However, the one thing I hate about almost all tiny home/RV/Schoolie/Camper videos is when people feel they have to explain about watching TV. Having a TV doesn't mean your family watches the mindless drivel on Cable and Network TV but it opens you up to a medium that is robust with wonderful historical, artistic, entertaining, musical and educational content. It can also project a computer and the infinite content of the internet. I am watching your video on a 60" TV in my living room. A TV is just a medium. No need preach about it or feel that it has to be explained! I really respect your family and your home! Great job!!!

Uses: extra income, elderly family housing, guest/family housing, children’s temporary housing as they get started in life (saving, building their own homesteads), farm manager as you travel, summer interns to learn farming/homesteading skills, meeting place, and so much more. And it’s not attached to the house so you have privacy.

    We have been following you guys on your Journey and are so excited for y'all. We live in Indiana and are in the process of finishing the renovation on the camper, and then on to selling the house and 90% of our possessions. We are in our mid 40"s and our kids are 26, 23, 20. You guys have given us the courage (along with lots of prayer) to do this and start our own journey for living debt free. God Bless you and your family and keeping pushing forward.

    If you moved the microwave to another counter and put the dish rack on the other side of the sink you'd have an amazing prep space. Sink and trash right there, everything you need! Well done on the tiny house!.

      There isn't enough room on the other side of the sink for the rack. The counter space beside the stove is very nice prepping space. .

    I watched the complete build of your tiny house area so really appreciated this tour. I paused the video a few time so I could take my time with the viewing. Good organization guys but I do have doubts about putting the hay where you mentioned. Hopefully you can build something outside to store the hay.

    Wanted to let you know what you need to do with your pantry shelves...If you’ve noticed, the boards have begun to bow in the center slightly and if you don’t consider fixing the issue, you will be saddened. Our family has utilized these similar shelving units for a pantry setup for the past 34 years. (I started the process of having a dry goods and food item system as soon as my military family began!)
    Remove the entire shelf and flip the board to decrease the boards to split, snap. Then reinforce each side with thin strips of wood along each end; the measurements in width should be approximately 2 inches, 1” height and length whatever the actual length of the side of your shelf. Each new strip you are adding will be glued and screwed. You will need to add two thinner strips of wood off of the center of each board to decrease further tension. You two can figure it out; you’ve just built yourself a tiny house and many other things for your family! God speed ❤️🙏✝️
