The mp3 vs flac test is better done with your own conversions with music you choose. In the end, I agree its better to just use the flac whether you hear the difference or not because I am sure one day you will when you get a more revealing system for example among other factors.
@@Emira_75 yeah I heard Bad Guy talk about them, but they'll be about $80, and in the legacy line the bigger the number the more high end. so I'm not sure if they will replace the L3. So I'm not sure if to wait for L2 reviews or if to just get the L3
If you plan on covering more IEMs that are around the $1k+ range, then I'd suggest giving the Unique Melody Mest MKII a go. I've tried so many IEMs over the years from Campfire Andromeda and various IEMs that Linsoul Audio carries. No IEM like the Mest MKII has wowed me the most than any other IEM out there, and they've pretty much have become my endgame IEM. Period.
That's the speed of the bass, "boom" is slow bass and "bang" is quick bass. However I won't say which one is better it really depends on how quick or how slow it is, also need to consider personal taste and music genres .
I got a second hand L4 back in December. Well tuned but very narrow soundstage width and the L4's tonality in general is kind of boring. The L4 really sounds to me like an analytical EST 112.
I have been listening to the Legacy 4 more recently since comparing it with the Yume Midnight. I enjoy Legacy 4 more now than when I reviewed it. You're right that it's quite boring. But it's also very inoffensive, no irritating treble, decent DD bass, and it has amazing fit and comfort. So boring inoffensive sound + amazing comfort is actually a pretty decent combination.
Hey I found this video after watching your review of the KZ zs10 pros. As a total amateur, I can't really tell what accounts for the price difference, do you happen to have a video that breaks down sub $100 from 200-300 headphones? What makes these much better, as the specs aren't self evident to amateurs like myself. Thanks a lot.
Difficult to generalize differences, there are some sub-$100 IEMs that sound and are built better than some more expensive earphones. Typically more money pays for nicer build, more accessories, more expensive drivers like ESTs, better quality control, and especially more niche tuning. Cheaper IEMs commonly have issues with treble sharpness or bloomy bass. But it's a very vague generalization and not always true. In this specific case, I can compare Legacy 4 ($200) with the company's own Legacy 2. The Legacy 4 has two more balanced armature drivers than the Legacy 2, and the sound is generally more detailed, better layered, and overall more "technical." The Legacy 4 also has a built-in tuning switch that lets you slightly adjust the frequency response. Otherwise on the exterior, they're about the same apart from colors. And sound signatures are very similar.
@@SuperReview Thanks for the detailed feedback. I have been using the KZ zs10 pros for almost a year now thanks to your old video and they sound great, huge upgrade from the sennheisers I used to have. Now I'm looking at the thieaudio and a few other brands for another upgrade and have consistently come back to this legacy series. Because you have reviewed the zs10 pro specifically in the past, would you say that this would be a noticeable upgrade in quality. Setting aside the additonal cost completely, just in terms of sound and performance, what would be the biggest improvement. I have been going through some of the technical aspects of these two pairs but it's pretty nuanced, seems although the KZs have more balanced armatures, thieaudio uses the knowles driver which is superior? Sorry for all the amateur questions. I am also looking for something fairly light in weight and that was something I've identified with this legacy pair as well.
@@ninjafrog8419 sure! L3 has more balance treble compare to L4, less upper midrange emphasis compare to L4, wider stage compare to L4. thinner and colder midrange compare to L3. L5 has the tonality that is just not my type, warm, meaty, and too laid back/dark compare to L3. L9 has too much mid bass, and overall tonal tonal balance is not just as good as L3.

Not sure about Starsea, I haven't heard that one. Vs. FH3, I think L5 has a bit better treble quality and midrange resolution. Bass on FH3 is better IMO. I'd have to spend more time comparing to really know which I would prefer, that's tough, both are good.
Can you recommend a pair of iems below 230$? I'm confused between L4, L5, IKKO OH10, Fiio FH3, Moondrop KXXS, Starfield, Aria,TRI starsea. Wide soundstage, good Treble energy(not too bright), great mids, but not like everything's narrower or too close. And most importantly for long term listening sessions , small amount of extra warmth will work.
Will the table not scratch those beautiful iems..? Whenever you move all iems for reviews it feels like they're hurting & dying inside. Could you at least put some nice table cover to give justice to all your beautiful iems
The table looks like a formica surface, so it's unlikely to scratch anything. They are one of the least abrasive surfaces I can think of. Source: worked at a cabinet shop for many years.
FWIW, I've never scratched a product with the table. I think things are not as fragile as perhaps feared. Also, most of the sliding here, the ear pieces are resting on top of the roadie-wrapped cable, so it's just the cable sliding around. Here's a Moondrop S8 review with an earphone I bought with my own money: th-cam.com/video/8l0LMxqnyGE/w-d-xo.html

I bought the Thieaudio Elixir for around 160€ from Linsoul.
Is it better than the Thieaudio L3, L4 or L5 ?
Would be great if you do legacy 3, they seem to be the biggest star in the lower price range...🙂✌️
exactly
I wouldn't be surprised if Legacy 3 gets a sequel / replacement soon.
@@SuperReview why'd you think that? I'm thinking of getting them...

How would you compare ThieAudio Legacy 5 with Moondrop Blessing2: Dusk?
Mm, warmer, more laid-back.
Thieaudio’s Legacy is safe for now with the legacy 5 getting a good review.
Punny.
I’ve seen other reviewers describe poor bass sounding like a “boom” and good bass sounding like a “bang.” That made sense at least to me
Lots of ways to describe bass! Ultimately, it's... did you like it or not? And from there, lots of ways to describe.

Personally love the tonality of L4 compared to the L5 myself.
Wandering when will the Hifigo start to manufacturing IEMs, since Linsoul and Penon does a pretty solid jobs.
@@YUYU-qv5le Haha that is the plan for the long run my friend :)

FH3 has more bass quantity (too much for me) and more sharp and metallic treble. Good for 80s rock. Not for jazz with trombones ))
They could have really cut the Legacy 4 price if they didn’t include those overkill accessories lol
Possibly. Also might cost them only an extra ~$5.
