The way the rule is written, AS SOON as a QB starts to slide, he has officially given himself up and is effectively tackled and the ball is spotted at its location when he began the slide. So he could slide 10 feet and it wouldn't change the placement of the ball. In other words, there's never a reason to hit a QB when they slide like that.
@albertohernandez QB's don't have the same pads as the other players on the field. Theirs are smaller and lighter so they can have a greater range of motion when throwing. So no, they don't need to "nut up"

Number 92--the player who scrapes his cleats across the other player's head is about 23 stone (the other one with number 90 stepping on the player's shin--he is also about 23 stone.) These are really big, fast, mean, powerful boys out there.
that high school player that hit the ref got charged with assault and the team was removed from playoffs, that punk did a similar thing to a soccer ref prior to that
It's ironic that their discussion about the scumbaggery (9:40) in the clip with Antonio brown front kicking that punter comes to fruition like 3 minutes later.
Wouldn't say dirtiest since I think...I think .. I can count all his dirty plays on one hand lol but I'd still rather have him on my team over a bunch of these others.
11:05 weird but important distinction, its not when he "hits the deck", its when he starts the slide. Every other ball carrier gets whats called "forward progress" which is the ball being placed as far forward as you ever got, but QBs get the exact opposite. The ball is placed/spotted at the furthest spot back, this is done as gesture of good faith for not hitting the most important player on the team. Most QuarterBacks slow up and try to make it obvious because if you take a hit while sliding your body takes more damage. Its really dirty to hit a sliding QB and also very rare
To be down a player has to touch you while you are down in the NFL. In college no opponent has to touch you to be down, you merely have to touch the ground with something other than your hands or feet.
True readjustments can be hard. But tackling a QB anywhere near the legs is always risky penalty wise. So you never really aim there. In most these clips it was just the defense seeing red and trying to lay someone out instead of trying to make the tackle.
@Shawn Brink... you missed the whole point. Im taking about readjustments. As in it doesn't make sense for a player to not readjust to a sliding QB unless they were already planning to hit low. Which again is a bad idea and usually will lead to penalties so it isn't done. Don't throw out names of fallacies in a conversation as if you just learned it. It doesn't make your argument sound better it just makes you look pretentious. Especially when you didn't comprehend the text in the first place.
3:36 Gronk was asked after the game why he did it he said he got tired of all the holding and the fact that they aren't getting called so in a fit of rage he just went red and did what he did
Some if those clips were from college games. Some of their rules are different from the NFL. One big diff is in college ball the player with the ball is down when he makes contact with the ground, even if he is never touched by the other team (like if he trips by himself). In the NFL the ball carrier can get back off the ground and continue his run if he is NOT touched by the other team. But not in college....he is down whether he is touched or nit.not. (PS...another difference is the 2-feet "in bounds" in the NFL. but in college only 1 foot is necessary)
There's a video about the NFL''s dirtiest players who inflicted harm so purposefully he was proud of career ending injuries. Also, the part where Aaron Rodgers got stepped on, not only did Suh step on his ankle, he did again and on the leg everyone knew Rodgers was recovering from a calf injury, Suh is generally considered the dirtiest player in league history especially because his dirty style is intentional since he 's a really good player thus no need play dirty.
In my opinion the punt returns are the worst. You’re looking up at the ball waiting to catch it and you wave for a fair catch, which means you catch it and wherever you are, that’s where you will start. Calling a fair catch also means you can’t be hit. So when you’re looking up at the ball and wave a fair catch you’re not expecting to be hit, especially by someone who just ran 30-40+ yards and has a shit ton of momentum on them

The guy that run onto the field and flatted the ref was a high school player. That made the nation news in the US. That kid was kicked off off the team and was not allowed to play in any sports for his remaining time in school. He was good enough to play in college but I don't know what happened in regards to that.
Once he starts to slide there can be no contact with the QB. 11:17 I think that's Teddy Bridgewater that was KO'd. He revitalized his career with the New Orleans Saints when Drew Brees was injured and then signed with the Denver Broncos and has been playing well.
In College, once you're down, the play is over. In the NFL, someone needs to knock you down, or touch you while you are down Important context for this video, and in general for future Football vids
The QB gives himself up. The ball is dead at the start of the slide and you HAVE to make an attempt to pull up and slow down. Driving the head of the QB into the turf on a free shot is a big no go
Unlike every other situation in the NFL when the quarterback slides the play automatically ends and he doesn't have to be touched. That's why the ones of the quarterback are a penalty.
Keep in mind watching vids like this that in college, players are automatically down when they fall/knee touches. They can only get up untouched in the NFL.
I don’t know if anyone told you but the player who hit the ref over a call he didn’t agree with was a great high school player who lost his scholarship and no one picked him up. He further made it worse by holding news conference saying the college coaches were racist!??
Suh has kind of changed his attitude later in his career. Still a beast on the field but doesn’t really take cheap shots like he did in Detroit. Burfict on the other hand is a giant shitbag

He revitalized his career with the New Orleans Saints when Drew Brees was injured and then signed with the Denver Broncos and has been playing well.
as soon as a quarterback starts his slide the play is dead and he is ruled down at the spot he started sliding.
He still has to be “touched” by the opposing team for the ball to be dead, right?
@@IkeThe9th No, they don't need to be touched.
In College, once you're down, the play is over. In the NFL, someone needs to knock you down, or touch you while you are down
Important context for this video, and in general for future Football vids
The QB gives himself up. The ball is dead at the start of the slide and you HAVE to make an attempt to pull up and slow down. Driving the head of the QB into the turf on a free shot is a big no go
Unlike every other situation in the NFL when the quarterback slides the play automatically ends and he doesn't have to be touched. That's why the ones of the quarterback are a penalty.
8:48 Anthonio Brown is bat-shit crazy. Been looney tunes since the burfict hit 12:52.
Keep in mind watching vids like this that in college, players are automatically down when they fall/knee touches. They can only get up untouched in the NFL.
4:51 The hit on QB Rudolph was esp. bad b/c he'd only recently recovered from a brain injury.
When a QB slides, the play is over. They aren't even getting extra yards for how far they slide. That's gonna be a foul every damn time.
The opposite team is ALWAYS going to think it is deliberate.
4:58 So that monster is in jail, right? That was 100% attempted murder.
A lot of people point to the hit on Antonio Brown at about the 13 minute mark as the moment his behavior really took a turn for the bizarre.
I don’t know if anyone told you but the player who hit the ref over a call he didn’t agree with was a great high school player who lost his scholarship and no one picked him up. He further made it worse by holding news conference saying the college coaches were racist!??
Vontez Burfict 55 for Bengals and Ndamukong Suh 90 for the lions r both known for being dirty players
Suh has kind of changed his attitude later in his career. Still a beast on the field but doesn’t really take cheap shots like he did in Detroit. Burfict on the other hand is a giant shitbag
@@kevinexline5392 Burfict should have been kicked out of the league years ago imo for all the dirty hits he's done trying to injure other players
If I remember it is also a foul to “unnecessarily rough up the quarterback” so the guy who knocked the quarterback out was rougher then necessary
the 2nd to last one where 99 threw his helmet down is one of the highest paid players in nfl history btw. a few years ago he was the highest paid player in the nfl.
You guys should watch videos about the history of college football. Jon Bois' video about the 222-0 game and Secret Base's videos about Beef History and weird rules are amazing.
8:33 coward…
On punts the receiving playing must be given a chance to catch the ball before you tackle them. You are not allowed to hit them before the ball is in his hands.
Antonio Brown (The Guy who kicked the the Kicker in the face) was the fastest WR NFL history to 900 catches this past Sunday. That is after over 2 plus years out of the league for OFF Field Shi*housery. Only in the NFL
the clip of the player coming off the sideline to hit a ref; that was a high school game
They should have included the college player who would dig his fingers into opponents’ bumholes during pile ups.
Bro that’s so pretty how they call the late hit but not the holding and passing interference
Vontaze Burfict was an unnecessarily nasty and dirty player who's name is scorned across the league now
You should check out the player who had written on a hand towel the numbers of other players for different teams and he called it a hit list and would play extremely dirty and they were lucky if able to play the next season. I knot was 80’s bc he hurt bears Jim McMahon the year they played super bowl
The hit on Flacco by Kiko Alonzo was super cheap. Flacco is 6’6 250 and not hard to miss. They slide to avoid contact like Dazourdous said… Late hits are definitely pure frustration.
Lineman will always fight when someone hits the QB late.
how does the video not have the infamous body slam of McMahon
Great reaction! Lots of cheap shots in this video. Could you guys respond to “Not so Serious Baseball, part 1 or 2”?
The one involving the blue #88 I believe was arrested for assault if I remember correctly
One the quarterback starts to slide the play is over. Because the quarterback has given himself up.
12:54 The day Antonio Brown became AB…
Honestly this should be called Cheap Shots after 20000
I see office blokes nfl content and I watch, it’s that simple. React to the George kittle “the joker” documentary from James Vincent!
High school #88 who hit the Ref was arrested and eventually ban for sports
Alot of these super hard fights you see in here are divison rival's
Don't celebrate your interception while the ball is in play...😁 Nothing cheap about it.
What your missing is these are mostly QBs that are taking late hits, and there not built like LBs or anyone , it’s just curtsey in football
I know that it’s old news but did Odell and josh Norman ever get over their beef?
No way they put Edinburg High school in this comp lol
It’s not a contact sport… it’s a collision sport
Nice bad hits.. see, I told you guys, Dave should pick the Browns, Mike the Steelers.. great rivalry they have, and I think its less then 90 miles between the two stadiums, so both games have fans from the visiting team showing up. should do reaction to the browns final home game in 95. fans ripped the seats up, threw them on the field.. they had to actually make the players change sides each time one team passed the 50 yard line going towards the "Dawg Pound" fans side. did any of you go to the game today (October 10, 2021) in London? or have any of you gone to any previous NFL games played there?
I second this. I'm from Cleveland. Dave wouldn't even have to wear team colors he fits right in with the crowd. What do you say Dave? The Browns are a good team this year bud
@@GIConntung I was born outside Cleveland in 71, and lived then outside from 77-84, but consider it my home town.
@@jerzeyguy71 Good stuff man. Daz was trying to guess why my name is Conn Man, and thought it might be because I'm from Connecticut. Let's see if he finds these comments and figures out he's wrong. Anyway shame about today's game but I've still got browns vs bucs in the bowl this year. So long as our boys stay healthy. Cheers bro
the cleats have a steal center
What you don't get to find out is how much each of these players are fined. Often it's in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Notice how nfl players get up straight away after getting stepped on or stamped
Rudolph kicked Garrett in the nuts, Garrett smashed rudolf with the helmet, posey kicked Garrett in the head, it was an embarrassment for both teams
Yeah when it comes to football even if I hate you… if we are on the same team and someone disrespects you I will go to war for you… you have to have each other’s back…
Yay, you still like sports, sometimes!!!
Please do a 2020 LSU SEASON REVIEW.
Ya got.my Buffalo Bills in this one lol. Superbowl this year!
Given the person we know Antonio Brown is today, his kick to the head while on the punt return, was very foretelling…
