Thank you for the extremely helpful video. I had no clue how totweak my sound on my stream to improve anytrhing before watching your video. Now I've bought a Beacn Mix Create and followed your step and now I'm extremely happy with the end product. Keep up the good work dude!

I realllyyyyyy like the simplicity of this. I totally get if you have an XLR mic then the goxlr is the way to go, but I can't justify that until the stream grows. This is dope
I honestly love the way the beacn mix looks. Would love for them to come out with same mix but to power an existing xlr mic like my shure and able to use high impedance headphones too
Shure actually makes an XLR to USB conversion, which would probably solve your problem with the mic. As far as the hi headphones, I run a small 3.5mm jack amp for mine out of my GoXLR to get more punch. Works like a charm
AFAIK you can use it to control the audio levels of your interface and thus XLR mic and headphones. It uses WASAPI layer, which your interface also goes through.
I may not have been the only one, but the press of the knob to mute to all was a suggestion of mine! Don't care if they were already planning it or if someone else had the idea first... I am claiming it.
8:15 1 issue though that I found from another video, because you do everything from technically 1 output in OBS, you can't add a compressor, EQ, etc. to your mic or to discord
That locking idea is actually really good, I have been thinking of getting some BEACON stuff since I’m back in The States so that would be a nice effect to have with it since I’ll be rebuilding my stream set up.
Thank you so much for this video! Definitely helps a lot to see all of these details explained in depth and the added functionality that BEACN SW has is really pushing me to upgrade. I'm grateful to have my goXLR as long as I have, but have run into various issues with it such as games like Rocket League not able to be properly routed through the goXLR audio channels and coming through silent, and some stability here and there throughout its use. My intention with the BEACN mix create is that it will solve most if not all of those issues amongst all the additional features.
My beacnmic is on the way.. and cant wait! I also love the fact you can enable the mics built in feature to turn it into a mixer which has exactly the same functionality as the beacnmix create. Really handy, considering the beacnmix create is now sold out. I will be deffo be upgrading from the goxlr.
Im excited about this product!! I don't see myself using it because I got the equipment I plan to use but it's definitely one I will recommend for people over a Shure/Go XLR set since you can get it a fraction of the cost with basically the same quality
The switching between outputs is such a nice feature. Closest I'm aware of is the Wave device + a Streamdeck. They have some toggles in there so you can switch that way but that's another £150 you have to spend just for that though. Really like that routing table though. The ability to just send one of your outputs through your mic/voice so others can hear it is great. Haven't managed to work out how to do that on a Wave device yet, other than sending your stream mix through Discord. Even without Mac support *yet - is on the roadmap*, this feels like a great purchase.
You can do it with Stream Deck alone. It's called Toggle Audio Device under Audio Devices in the Stream Deck menu. Might be a plugin. Can't remember if it's something I installed or not.
@@ZMIRAx Looks like there was a plugin but also a built in which I'm assuming came later. Noticing for me though that if I change the audio input via a Streamdeck though, it stops me adjusting the volume on my keyboard or headset, very odd! Might reinstall and see if that fixes it.
The one thing I want to see is either hotkey or stream deck integration, so I can click one button and mute or change volumes of multiple channels at once. For example, a button that mutes my mic and voice chat at the same time, or a button to fade music out then mute after a few seconds. I still use Voicemeeter alongside Wave Link just for the ability to create custom hotkeys like this. Other than that, this software seems perfect to me.
@@ChrisWithACam They’re basically very similar in a lot of ways. Beacn software has a routing table, 2 output devices and a physical controller . Wave Link can use the streamdeck. I feel having a physical controller is important, but also having hotkeys or buttons to do multi-actions is also an important feature. Beacn’s biggest selling point right now though is the Mic which is probably the best for streaming now.
@@soapcter I haven't watched this video all the way through yet because I'm at work but Wavelink's inclusion of VSTs is pretty game cha going to me. I can easily get a great sound using a free noise gate and compressor and make my wave3 sound even better.
I actually have a PC Panel, so i dont think im going to get this but it does look promising. The one problem i see with this device is the ability to control Fullscreen Apps like a Game. The PC Panel can do this and makes it super easy to control whatever game you're on without having to add it to the mix everytime you play a new game. Also i really like that the PC Panel controls volume through windows instead of controlling the volume through its own software, less room for failure really.
Just set this up to run on my main gaming PC, but wanted to use the mic on a work laptop as well. Did the 2 PC setup described, but left my audience mic output alone. I just copied the voice chat to the line out on the routing table and added a hardware channel to control laptop volume separately. Super seamless so far
I want to see a StreamDeck integration. Sure I could probably figure out some way with hot keys or whatever, but a button that can set an audio source to a set value (which means a macro can set them all to set values at once) would be super helpful to “reset” my audio. Or a way to maybe fade out audio when ending stream, or fade out and back in to emphasize focus (instead of simply going in chucks (-5, -5, -5…+5, +5, +5) it would ramp smoothly on its own). It might seem repetitive to have a volume change button on the stream deck, but a +/- volume button would be cool since the knobs don’t offer the most accurate leveling. A stream deck set of buttons could be “Mute to Chat” “Mute to All” “Mute to …” and on each source. This would probably be only for the BEACN Mix Create, but it would still be really cool to see.
I do agree unlocking when switching to the audience mix would be a pretty great feature to add, cutting down on clicks while you are live always helps with getting you right back into both egauging with your audience and back into what you were doing. TLDR - minimized interruptions while you are live always welcome lol
I agree that the only time I'm going to check the audience mix is when I think that there is an issue with it. And locking/unlocking would be a good idea IMO, you could even control JUST the audience fader if you turn the dial while listening to the audience mix. I also think that it would be good to have a "hold" mode where it switches back to the normal mix when you release if you long press. This means you could hold to check it, and use the dial to adjust an audience volume while its held then when you release it would go back to your regular mix and lock the offset again
I think the reason people are asking about using the GOXLR and other devices, would be how can you use music mixers/sound effects with this setup. i have a cheaper sound interface board which can change voice sounds, cheering, intro music etc. I myself and trying to figure out how to incorporate this right now. Great video, thank you for the information and tutorial.
I'm a director of software engineering and I would hire you as a director of technology in an instant. You have a great natural mind for that. Like you would get a lot of patents on products. Yes your idea for UX is a good one. It makes the process easier and improves the work flow.
So you could have a regular mixer(non goxlr) have that going into your PC. That would house any xlr mics or other devices(second xlr mics/lav mics). And use the this to control just the volume and distribution of that "one" input(the mixer).
The idea about swapping to audience mix and being able to adjust, is perfect. There is one thing I would say, the more options the better. Maybe it could be a drop down so that the individual users could choose whether it unlocks or stays locked? I agree that it would be a wonderful suggestion to incorporate.
I get paid next week and I’m definitely going to be picking up a Beacn mic and one of these mixers, I currently have a HyperX Quadcast, it sounds great and I got my audio filters set up, but I’d love to have all these things to mess around with and hopefully use for better quality over streams, calls or meetings
I would've hoped to see this device be able to send each knob to a different audio channel, instead of just one audience mix. It'd allow for obs users to separate each audio source for more control in post. Maybe there's a way that I haven't seen yet.
Since the mixer creates virtual audio devices, you can record to a DAW. Reaper is fully functional to try without a license. You can even use Reaper as your audio processor and send to OBS with ReaRoute.
I’d send the “Audience Mix” to OBS (as the main stream audio track) and the separate audio tracks through Virtual Audio cables still. You’ll have the audio from them, but you’ll have to rebalance them in post.
@@WaleighWallace AYO! You could have the Audience Mix on OBS track 1 and all the other direct sources to their own OBS tracks where the volume of them doesn't matter until post. Idk if the Mix Create makes virtual outputs for each knob, but you could use good ol VoiceMeeter to separate those out. Goated idea
With regards to combining with a GOXLR and its outputs, the first use I can think of for it is running live events over a PA while streaming. I've done similar things for robotics competitions as there are some sounds that don't need to come through the PA for the in-person attendees that the online viewers would need and vice-versa. I'm currently testing out the combination of GOXLR Mini and BEACN MIX CREATE for exactly this purpose.
I know you said you haven't really toyed around with the Mix Create and GoXLR together as much yet so I really hope you can make a followup video dedicated to that as well as the WaveXLR that you didn't really talk about at all haha. I feel there will be a ton of people that are currently using the GoXLR/Mini such as myself that want the create just for the submixes. I really want to see how or if the create will be used for volume control when both the full-sized GoXLR and Mini have faders. I'm assuming you'd just set the GoXLR to max on the faders and let the Create do the rest? Anyway, thanks for the video and please do a followup!!
Call it "Harris' Hangout", where you talk tech, gear and whatever you want. Could be a cool segment for more personal stuff that you're not sure what to call it.
Id love to see them... in stock. That channle switching feature is one of the main reason I want this, I want more that 4 channels than the go xlr and I don't want to go into software like the wave xlr
@Harris one video I’d like to see would be how to set up a 2 PC stream setup with what you have talked about in this video here. As always I enjoy your content 😁
Question with the Audiencae Mix how to you Track 6 to exclude music from yr vod if you have it running thru here @8:18 I would be assuming you add it as an extra mob for steam music etc to truely split that off ?
If I may add a thing to the control panel section. Windows 10 is the worst for changing your default audio setting if things are plugged in and or removed when windows is running. So if u plug or unplug any audio device while windows is running, check control panel defaults before going live!
This is great. I was looking at the wave xlr since it matches nicely with the stream deck but what bugged me was that I couldn't control speakers with the volume dial/mute as well as headphones. You could connect speakers instead of headphones or one to the pc and use the stream deck but I wanted all of them ideally. So the output toggle is great! It seems a bit overpriced though, dropping the xlr and headphone jack but I'd get one - if they were in stock and available in the UK!
Are there any questions you still have that I should talk about during my next live stream?
This cannot be a GOXLR replacement because it doesnt have the voice sampler or mixer functions. This device is ment to replace the GOXLR "Mini"
are you able to still use a dac and amp with the beach mix?
is there a way to use two mics with it? I use a desk mic for streaming and when I am at my pc but when I am just in discord I use my wireless headset mic so I can still chat with friends. is there an easy way to switch between the two using this?

I do agree unlocking when switching to the audience mix would be a pretty great feature to add, cutting down on clicks while you are live always helps with getting you right back into both egauging with your audience and back into what you were doing.
TLDR - minimized interruptions while you are live always welcome lol
This really helped me out, thank you!
Sold out, just like everything else within gaming nowadays :)
Inserts emoji here 🎶 Seriously, thank you Harris!
The background looks *amazing* though!! Awesome!
that camera quality though 🔥
So you could have a regular mixer(non goxlr) have that going into your PC. That would house any xlr mics or other devices(second xlr mics/lav mics). And use the this to control just the volume and distribution of that "one" input(the mixer).
what mic arm do you use
Writing audio to different sources would be god tier.
Goated idea
The tutorial I needed! Thank you!
That said, I'm also testing various combinations of the above along with a Scarlett 2i2 and/or the Elgato Wave XLR.
Love the idea of the auto lock/unlock for the audience mix! Still getting it regardless
Anybody know why my cables w ground loop noise isolator not showing up for output on my gaming PC? I cannot get audio from there to streaming PC.
im having that problem right now.
thank you for this tutorial 😮
I know you said you haven't really toyed around with the Mix Create and GoXLR together as much yet so I really hope you can make a followup video dedicated to that as well as the WaveXLR that you didn't really talk about at all haha. I feel there will be a ton of people that are currently using the GoXLR/Mini such as myself that want the create just for the submixes. I really want to see how or if the create will be used for volume control when both the full-sized GoXLR and Mini have faders. I'm assuming you'd just set the GoXLR to max on the faders and let the Create do the rest? Anyway, thanks for the video and please do a followup!!
ok. i need this now. sold.
Call it "Harris' Hangout", where you talk tech, gear and whatever you want.
Could be a cool segment for more personal stuff that you're not sure what to call it.
Id love to see them... in stock. That channle switching feature is one of the main reason I want this, I want more that 4 channels than the go xlr and I don't want to go into software like the wave xlr
the auto unlock for audience mix is a great idea!
A Beacn Mix (and/or Create) Senpai Gaming design Edition would be a nice product I'd buy ;o
Screen sharing all the controls really helps to set this up ⚙
i need this in my life
Super helpful video, thank you!
i love the background
Holy poo. Your audio in this video was so sibilant. What happened? Anywho, thanks for the video! Good stuff.
@ 12:35 I think that would be a great idea harris!
I do agree with your statement, it should auto detach when you switch to audience mode. Hopefully they add this
loving the corner
Great video!
@Harris one video I’d like to see would be how to set up a 2 PC stream setup with what you have talked about in this video here. As always I enjoy your content 😁
that suggestion does make sense tbh man
love this
Question with the Audiencae Mix how to you Track 6 to exclude music from yr vod if you have it running thru here @8:18 I would be assuming you add it as an extra mob for steam music etc to truely split that off ?
