It was not designed for line in instruments, it is made for streaming or recording TH-cam, Twitch, Kick, Zoom etc. If you have an interface that has line in then plug it into your computer, see if Beacn Studio recognizes it and go from there. I have many devices that I can use like an amp/dac stack, a Mackie Mix5, a Quantum ES2 and Beacn sees the audio chain I set up. I have the Quantum ES2 to connect the Mackie mixer, the monitors are simply my mains and then I can use other inputs to send that audio in and out where I want it. The Beacn Studio sees the Quantum ES2 as a hardware device so you can set up a channel there and pull in the mic/instruments on your combo jacks and also use loopback if you have that function on the Audiobox GO.
I'd love to try this out, so far I haven't been able to find anything with better processing (at least to my ears) than the GOXLR but this one seems so promising.
Funny that you mention WVOX. That was the local AM station in New Rochelle, NY for decades until it was sold in 2023. All local programming stopped cold, including the show I was on every week. Moved to podcast.

And I think if beacn made that device they would wipe elgato, goxlr, loupedeck, and all small to medium audio interface manufacturers from the streamer and creator market overnight.
Hey Addie! I have a very weirdly specific question for you. I got the GO-XLR for a variety of reasons, one of which were the various real-time voice effects, pitch/gender shifting, echo/reverb, etc. Does the BEACN Studio have an analog to this? edit: Just finished watching the video, looks like it doesn't, which is too bad. I know it's a pretty niche thing to want to have. Ah well, the GO-XLR is still holding up just fine I suppose. :)
As innovative as this is, I can't recommend anyone buy a Beacn product. I own both the mic and mix create, and the lack of updates and transparency when it comes to the development lifecycle, plus numerous issues that myself and many others have had for months that don't get fixed made me stop using the mix completely
Agree 100%. I was excited for the Beacn Mix Create, I pre-ordered it. The software was so buggy it became an expensive paperweight. It crashed my PC every other day making streaming impossible. Got a Roland Bridgecast X and never been happier.
Would you be willing to make a video tutorial using voicemeeter and the virtual audio cables with OBS? I want to be able to change the volume for me but keep the stream audio consistent.
Is there Mac support for this? I thought I head you say you were using it on a Mac but I didnt see that it has Mac Support. Maybe I just misunderstood what you meant tho!
There is MAC support for the Beacn APP only. The Link software is windows only till they get it going for MAC.

Is there a good work around for the lack of speaker output on the Beacn and WaveXLR? It seems like an interesting device, I would need to check if there is an API/SDK for this now (it was missing when they initially launched their first products). Could be fun to make an plugin for the StreamDeck, Loupedeck etc.
hey i just got the beacn studio, it seems to work I see it sending my audience mix to OBS. I understand the routing table. But the last thing to fix or question is. Why do my headphones sound like crap when i plug them into the Beacn Studio. It like crushes or flattens all the sound from music or the browser. It brings over the game audio from the second PC just fine. That is crisp and sounds just like i were plugged into the gaming PC, but I can't listen to any music at high quality unless I go to the windows settings and force something like spotify to go through the beacn's headphone jack. However, doing this no longer lets me control its volume through the mixing software and it is not coming through audience mix. I can just send it separately to obs like that, but now I'm adjusting it in obs and defeats the purpose of the mix software. I tried recording from OBS the whole mix sounded bad. what is happening when the sound goes through the mix Vs when i tell windows to push the sound through beacn Headphones, Vs pushing the sound directly through the headphones? Beacn Headphones and Direct connection from PC/sound app sound accurate, mix does not.
Hello @EposVox You mentioned needing to turn on the phantom power for the sm7db. What if I wanted to purchase only the sm7b? Would I still need to turn it on? And if I do, will it mess up the sm7b?
No the normal SM7b is a dynamic mic and does not need phantom power. I wouldn’t turn it on, but you wouldn’t necessarily hurt it (tho you never want to plug in/unplug a mic with phantom power turned on in your interface, that could kill any mic), but it should be left off
@@EposVox Its me again! I have gotten the Beacn studio and have been loving it for the 45 mins that I have had it for lol The thing is, i keep phantom power off, but it gets turned back on whenever I turn my pc back on. Will that be an issue? (Mic wise) killing the mic and such?
Does the noise suppression applies to the mic monitoring? Wouldn’t wanna hear my Loud AC through mic monitoring and how is the latency? Is it real time?
Really interested in this device with the routing and the onboard processing, how easy is it to send the audio to the ElGato Wave Link/Stream Deck+ for level control
Awesome review as always. I wish (this will probably never happen) one of these companies would make an audio interface similar to some Behringer ones, where the control software is a web interface, so that we could control the EQ/Compression, etc while using Linux, since there isn't control Software for these devices under Linux.
Hey, a really great and interesting video. What I would really like to know. Because there are no controls on that device, is it possible to control the mixing section (audio levels, mute, ... ) of the mixing software with a streamdeck? That would be really interesting. Thanks
That is something I will be trying. I do not know why it would not be possible but the Mix /Mix Create are made to provide seamless integration where as the Stream Deck will have to be setup button by button.
@@marcorobbe9003 there's is no direct support for Stream Deck but you can setup your OBS or whatever you use with SD. Elgato would have to share their code with Beacn for a plugin and vice versa. I'm not thinking that is going to happen seeing they are basically direct competitors.
@EposVox Hello! Love your content! I am a new streamer and currently struggling to figure out witch products will be better for me down the road. Would you recommend the combo of the BEACN Studio with the Mix Create more then the combo of the Stream Deck+ with the XLR dock attachment? I understand the Stream deck combo would be cheaper, especially becasue I do not own a Stream Deck already so I will most likely be purchasing a SD-MK.2 along with the BEACN products. I would rather know which set up will be more beneficial to me 2-3 years from now.
This seems pretty slick, and pretty much perfect for my use case. Interested in how it compares to the Eglato Wave XLR, as they seem pretty similar. I’ve had a fair few issues with my Wave XLR so might actually consider switching to this once it’s available
Wondering why you don't just use a behringer x32 back mixer In your studio ? With whichever midi or companion or glue controller to physically hardware control it
@@MunroB0T I also have Audient, Macky, Focusrite, Audio Technia, and Native Instructions interfaces in my list of things I've tinkered with. I mean, I can't stop now right? 🤣
Becan do look like a fantastic option and packed full of great ideas that I love! But a mic and audio control is allmost €450 where I got a wave 3 and steam deak for mobile for under €130! It’s grand and works fine but feel it’s harder for entry level ppl to justify it and to expensive for the next level up ( sure sm7 ) for example! Thoughts?
Well the Wave 3 can work with the Beacn Studio. You do not have to buy the Beacn Mic if you don't want it. Also the Wave 3 and Wave Link have no DSP like the Studio does. DSP is not cheap.
I got the mic and mix create the studio would be only in good use to me if I got the headset that or if I pull out my old mic as I kept my old mv7 mic as a backup just in case my beacn mic plays up it’s always good to have a backup
@eposvox How is the audio latency when hearing yourself overall? Also, how is the latency when you have your headphones plugged into a separate headphone amp
@@koenignero No, software depending hardware is bad, look what happened to the TC Helicon GoXLR, nice device software based features and they stopped giving support to it. I use a Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 and it works really well on any, ANY platform, because is software independent
Awesome overview/review of the possibilities. So can you only have a PS5 or second PC plugged in at a time, not both? If I switch from PC to PS5, will it maintain settings going back and forth? If so, does it make the most sense to have Stream PC as main app and companion on a game PC?
I've been using a Razer Seiren Elite for a year now but I've been thinking about upgrading because it's given me trouble, specially with the gain and some static noises. Would you recommend the lewitt ray with the beacn studio? Or maybe just the mic or the beacn studio with my current mic
As somebody who is not a content creator I am still waiting for one of these devices to have an optical in port like the goxlr had. Having that port would make it so much easier to get my audio from my consoles or another pc all into one setup. I know this can be done with line in but this has other issues like crazy static which even a ground loop isolator doesn't fix.
Bass enhance is probably just a dynamic EQ. You can do that with, for example, Fabfilter's Pro-Q 3. It's like a combo compressor/expander/EQ with the main benefit being that it can maintain a more consistent level of (in this case) bass regardless of the input bass level. You could also use that to help compensate for proximity effect in the event that you move a lot. I don't quite understand the idea of the virtual mixer having an audience mix output. You'd normally use this to send to OBS, but OBS already has a mixer and that mixer has more flexibility for sidechain ducking and such, so I'd rather adjust the audience mix in OBS. All I really want is a) a bunch of zero latency virtual outputs that can be individually captured in OBS and b) the ability to mix those virtual outputs for my own headphone mix. I can already do this with my Audient iD 14, which has 3 total pairs of outputs that I can monitor with no latency. If it had maybe 2 more pairs, there'd be no need for these "streamer-focused" devices.
I saw your last Video about beacn mic and the issues with it and the lack of transparency with their detailed hardware specs I’m just curious if you have changed your mind about the company? and if yes, what led to you changing your mind about the company?
This might actually be worth updating from my GoXLR mini. The software for the mini was recently updated and works just fine, but it still feels dated and the size of the BEACN studio would fit much better on my desk.
The only reason I haven't dumped my Yamaha AG06 for any of these new interfaces is because I really want to be able to mix in that offboard device, game console, or whatever. I just want that 1 more line in.
plug in your yamaha mixer if it has USB and then create a hardware channel in Beacn Studio to route it in. If the AG06 does not have a usb connection then you'd need an interface or a mixer with USB.
Try Lewitt 6 Connect, works on two PCs without a problem, perfect audio interface. Not sure why isn't that used in streaming because it's only one that works without any problem on two PCs, even on Windows, Linux and Mac.
the only good thing compared to wavexlr is that it has a second usb which allows much easier dual pc audio for obs alerts and splitting music from the rest. it sucks cuz it's all built in and you don't have vst plugins. you can regularly get wave xlr for 100 and a capture card is going to be 100 so you get capture card + audio interface and baldurs gate on steam i would tend to suggest wave 3 to anyone looking to get started as a best overall package
Having no output for speakers just killed it for me even though, it's an amazing product! What I'd love to see is that interfaces or mixers, especially with USB-C can send the signal digitally to another interface. It'd be really cool if there were such a standard for devices. You could "daisy chain" multiple devices while also keeping the prices relatively small. Audio hardware processing shouldn't be too expensive anymore, I guess. So having one device that basically does the routing and having multiple devices like mixers or "real" interfaces feeding that device with their digital signals would be cool. If it makes sense: It'd be analogous to networking. Having one router doing the job and "switches" (in that case secondary devices) interfacing with the your devices. However, since it'd be a standard signal/protocol, a router can have beautiful software to control each device. Of course, it'd add latency but I feel like if chaining devices already then this wouldn't necessarily make it any more worse.
I have my Quantum ES2 pulled into the Beacn Studio as a Hardware Channel and have my other devices plugged into the Quantum like my mackie mix5 and I can run my monitors either directly from the Quantum or into the mackie and control them with the mackie or the quantum. The audio chain works great for me and the Beacn has no problem seeing the Quantum as a hardware device. Just have to make sure the Beacn is always the default audio source and the Quantum is my side chain.
I used Hardware channels setup thru the Beacn Studio with my Quantum ES2 and a little mix5 from mackie. I connect the Quantum to the mix5 and then pull these sources in and control the faders on the Beacn. The mix5 will let me send the audio out where I want it. The Quantum is a great interface and I can use it just for mic/instrument, run my monitors thru it and not use the mackie at all. The functionality is there if you have a port to connect a second interface to on the pc.
@@competetodefeat4610 It does what I got it for, and makes my life so much simpler and I'm not running a music studio. I just want to setup my streams or recordings, have everything sound really good and throw in a few things just to play around with. That's not too much to ask for is it?
Hi EposVox, as usual great video. I have question/request that I kept to myself for a loooooong loooooong time... Every tutorial or guide for setting up and EQ'ing audio everyone has good low voices or it is for female voices. Can you please do a video showing how to do a proper EQ for a nasally voice from both genders? I have recorded 2 vocals for my friends and am struggling to EQ them... Thank you in advance.
I need that box but with about 5 or 6 faders too (GoXLR style faders but with more of em) and that would be my perfect setup, main downside of the GoXLR for me was i couldnt control all the channels it added, everythings just dials these days and im not a fan. Lack of a speaker out is a dissapointing deal breaker as i use speakers far more than headphones
I would consider getting this instead of my current plans if only it had a dedicated line out for pushing the (already processed) microphone signal to another mixer and audio interface I already have. I'm not going to pay $250 for a device like this just to end up using the headphone jack for production.
You know you can still use your other devices right? Beacn Studio will recognize your other interface and you can set it up as a hardware device. I have my little mix5 hooked up to my Quantum ES2 and have them pulled into Beacn on a channel for hardware. It is not difficult.
Having only 1 mic input is very limiting. Making it only useful for videogame streamers. I'd love it if it had 2 or 4 xlr and quarter inch trs instrument input with a speaker output in addition to the headphone monitor. Something like that with a digital gain control knob for every input to avoid crackling pots would be perfect. In its current state this isn't much more useful than izotope + reaper in OBS with voicemeter and as a plus you also get to keep a clean version of your recording. Basically I want a normal interface with hardware effects and routing.
I skip condenser microphones in the house, as they required a sound-proof booth because they pickup everything. Shure PGA-48 is my choice, as it is tuned for voice pick-up, unlike SM7B which is flat wide-range.
Lewitt made the Lewitt 240 with a smaller Condenser Capsule to avoid picking up too much room noise. The Elgato Wave 3 is handling room noise very well. It's condenser as well.
Dude it's hilarious that you were dismissive about the delineation of the broadcast range because when you dropped it, in my opinion(& on my Audeze Maxwells), you sounded exactly like you were on Howard Stern's show. Doesn't his mic tune sound the same??
It might just be because you've used a different mic, but your breathing while explaining the EQ is very irritating to me. Either it's due to ht mic used, due to the post processing, or because the gate falls off slower than other gates (like the presonus revelator stuff). Would be nice to know if that is the limitation of the gate or if that was unnoticed by you (which I highly doubt). I've gotten used to just sending my game audio to my second PC via HDMI and then just listening to it through windows sound settings but this is what I would've gone for if I was a 0 experience user and wouldn't want to deal with any issues.
This looks like a really nice device, but imo it's simply too expensive - just like the goxlr before it. the sweet spot for something like this is maybe $129. if they want to charge me $250, they need to give me a physical interface (either a touch screen or some robotic sliders). I guess, like most of this stuff, I just need to give it some time. note, specifically, I don't think this is a bad product by ANY means, I just think it's overpriced right now, upon it's initial release... if this comes down in price next year in the sub $200 range, I think it could be a really good buy.
Just FYI this entire video was recorded with my AC blasting, both because we're in a heat wave and to demo the noise removal.
Does this work with Mac?

I own both the mic and mix create, and the lack of updates and transparency when it comes to the development lifecycle, plus numerous issues that myself and many others have had for months that don't get fixed made me stop using the mix completely
Agree 100%. I was excited for the Beacn Mix Create, I pre-ordered it. The software was so buggy it became an expensive paperweight. It crashed my PC every other day making streaming impossible. Got a Roland Bridgecast X and never been happier.
A reviewer found a noise gate situation with the studio and then beacn tried to gaslight and lie to them. I will not buy anything from them
I've had the Beacn Mic and Mix Create pretty much since they came out. I haven't had any problems. YMMV.
Have the Beacn Mix Create from the start. There were some issues but they are all gone with updates. Now it works flowless.
@@captainzeeroh5352 same both the mix and create are amazing, but the studio is trash for the price it feels like a cheap toy.
how would you be comparing it to the STREAMER X ?
Would you be willing to make a video tutorial using voicemeeter and the virtual audio cables with OBS? I want to be able to change the volume for me but keep the stream audio consistent.
Is there Mac support for this? I thought I head you say you were using it on a Mac but I didnt see that it has Mac Support. Maybe I just misunderstood what you meant tho!
I said it doesn’t currently but will be coming very soon, according to BEACN
I’m really tempted for this. I want to replace my mixer but then I don’t know what to do for zero latency console audio as a separate device
when i saw the title in my feed..I had to make sure I wasn't going crazy. lol
Hello @EposVox
You mentioned needing to turn on the phantom power for the sm7db.
I have gotten the Beacn studio and have been loving it for the 45 mins that I have had it for lol
The thing is, i keep phantom power off, but it gets turned back on whenever I turn my pc back on. Will that be an issue? (Mic wise) killing the mic and such?
That's very odd. Sounds like a software bug - I'd definitely report it to BEACN, but it won't hurt your mic
Does the noise suppression applies to the mic monitoring? Wouldn’t wanna hear my Loud AC through mic monitoring and how is the latency? Is it real time?
yes it does.
does it sound good on the re20?
Really interested in this device with the routing and the onboard processing, how easy is it to send the audio to the ElGato Wave Link/Stream Deck+ for level control
Do you just have your speakers plugged directly into the pc? Coming from a go XLR that's having issues
@@SaintsPurgatory Thank you for your feedback. Waiting for your results ... 🙂
@@marcorobbe9003 there's is no direct support for Stream Deck but you can setup your OBS or whatever you use with SD. Elgato would have to share their code with Beacn for a plugin and vice versa. I'm not thinking that is going to happen seeing they are basically direct competitors.
I have a window AC in my Stream Shed and this would be so helpful!
With whichever midi or companion or glue controller to physically hardware control it
Just when I thought I was starting to figure out the io24 :P
i use the same and i'n debating if i want this too. LOL
@@MunroB0T I also have Audient, Macky, Focusrite, Audio Technia, and Native Instructions interfaces in my list of things I've tinkered with. I mean, I can't stop now right? 🤣
@@isocuda I guess not at that point lol. You sound like me with headphone amps and headphones/IEMs . Cant control myself there.
DSP is not cheap.
would there be a way to use this mixer on the stream deck plus?
Did you find out?
I got the mic and mix create the studio would be only in good use to me if I got the headset that or if I pull out my old mic as I kept my old mv7 mic as a backup just in case my beacn mic plays up it’s always good to have a backup
@eposvox How is the audio latency when hearing yourself overall? Also, how is the latency when you have your headphones plugged into a separate headphone amp
That's a product designed exclusive for Windows, I only use products that don't need a separated software in order to work
1. They support Mac as well. 2. Software is the future.
@@koenignero No, software depending hardware is bad, look what happened to the TC Helicon GoXLR, nice device software based features and they stopped giving support to it. I use a Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 and it works really well on any, ANY platform, because is software independent
@@koenignero mac is meh
Awesome overview/review of the possibilities.
So can you only have a PS5 or second PC plugged in at a time, not both?
If I switch from PC to PS5, will it maintain settings going back and forth?
If so, does it make the most sense to have Stream PC as main app and companion on a game PC?
Yes you’d want the main output running on stream pc, then just swap usb between gaming pc and ps5
Now that they are developing a Mac app, I’m paying attention! Might be selling off my Elgato toys.
What do you mean you can't use Elgato with OBS? I've been using it for a while. Am I not understanding something?
The Elgato EQ VST filter only comes in a VST 3 version, which is currently not compatible with OBS.
@@EposVox It's odd then because I was using Microphone FX directly into OBS and it worked just fine even with filters enabled.
This program would be sweet to use with any interface, but I assume it's exclusive for Beacn interfaces...?
It's exclusive to Beacn.
I saw your last Video about beacn mic and the issues with it and the lack of transparency with their detailed hardware specs
I’m just curious if you have changed your mind about the company? and if yes, what led to you changing your mind about the company?
This might actually be worth updating from my GoXLR mini. The software for the mini was recently updated and works just fine, but it still feels dated and the size of the BEACN studio would fit much better on my desk.
$250 is pretty steep for this device though.
If the AG06 does not have a usb connection then you'd need an interface or a mixer with USB.
awww cute kitteh!
Today I learned 1) a lot of my favorite musicians need to seriously tweak their de-esser 2) what a de-esser is/does
Better is to record that a de-esser is not needed
How would this compare to the Wave Link software?
It is 1000% better than Wave Link
Is the Presonus Revelator io44 still good?
I think your voice sounds so much more natural without the De-esser.
Try Lewitt 6 Connect, works on two PCs without a problem, perfect audio interface. Not sure why isn't that used in streaming because it's only one that works without any problem on two PCs, even on Windows, Linux and Mac.
i just bought a duo, theres like no inputs? well i have mackie dlz creator for that, this looks interesting.
the only good thing compared to wavexlr is that it has a second usb which allows much easier dual pc audio for obs alerts and splitting music from the rest. it sucks cuz it's all built in and you don't have vst plugins. you can regularly get wave xlr for 100 and a capture card is going to be 100 so you get capture card + audio interface and baldurs gate on steam
i would tend to suggest wave 3 to anyone looking to get started as a best overall package
For streaming and such this might be great... it falls well short of what I or anybody I know needs.
@@SaintsPurgatory So... it falls well short of what you actually need.
@@competetodefeat4610 It does what I got it for, and makes my life so much simpler and I'm not running a music studio. I just want to setup my streams or recordings, have everything sound really good and throw in a few things just to play around with. That's not too much to ask for is it?
Good 2PC interface in good(ish) price?
RT channel heavy? 🤔🤔
So basically this comboed with the mix create would be perfect as a one dvice not both seperate but could work
Pull the GO XLR in as a hardware device channel. Then hook your speakers up to your Go XLR interface.
No speaker output at $250 is a deal breaker for me.... why? Only headphone out?
WaveXLR doesn’t have a speaker out either. That’s what I use, just 1 tap of streamdeck & I can switch between Headphones & computer speakers
W Intro
if this just had optical in & maybe 2 3.5mm audio in it would be perfect for me
Having only 1 mic input is very limiting.
It's so close to greatness. Not having physical sliders or at least an integration with stream deck is sadly a deal breaker for me.
You want me to ditch my Rodecaster Pro II?
Yeah I’ll take it
@@EposVox Addie, you already have a room full of toys
Interesting….. 🤔
So no matter what I do I hear myself. I need help
can i just use the software for free without any of their product?
no? it's all processing in-hardware anyway lol
19:05 and this is where your title fails, i'd never ditch my GoXLR for this, and i'm not paying for an extra device as good as this is...
Almost as if no title is ever universally applicable
Can we trust Beacn again lol

This looks like a really nice device, but imo it's simply too expensive - just like the goxlr before it. the sweet spot for something like this is maybe $129. if they want to charge me $250, they need to give me a physical interface (either a touch screen or some robotic sliders). I guess, like most of this stuff, I just need to give it some time. note, specifically, I don't think this is a bad product by ANY means, I just think it's overpriced right now, upon it's initial release... if this comes down in price next year in the sub $200 range, I think it could be a really good buy.
Everything is overpriced. This is no different but you at least have DSP with the Beacn Studio.
