    Hello John. Great review buddy. Thanks for all the additional info you included like, the setting ect, I'm going to use this as a guide the next chance I get to use my camera. Really useful info thanks for sharing pal..
    With the final results you got (which are stunning btw) I can't wait to have a proper go.. Just not had chance with the bad weather we've been having.. ALL! Summer :(....
    They are amazing little cameras for the money... Had no idea you can also connect them to your phone, that's good to know. Take care buddy, clear skies.

      Your video's definitely going to be helpful once I use mine. Ordered one for $34 as it's on sale in my country. I think this camera is targeted for beginners like me who are looking to try their first planetary and lunar imaging.
      Was eyeing for the ZWO ASI 120MC-S, but it unfortunately costs about 5-6x the price of this camera. I honestly don't want to spend that much especially as a beginner.
      There's also always an option to upgrade- but that will come later after I've gotten myself very familiar imaging with a dedicated camera like this.

    Having trouble with getting the whole sun or disc of the moon on my screen, have a celestron 127 mak and I'm using a svbony 205 astro camera when I tried to use a 0.5 reducer it acted like a Barlow and made my image bigger not smaller, had the reducer screwed right to the camera, should I be using a 2 inch extension tube also?? Any help would be appreciated ! Haven't had too many chances to experiment here as the weather has just sucked lately.

    • @GalaxyArtMedia
      @GalaxyArtMedia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If is a reducer i do not think it can make it larger, maybe you palced a barlow lens instead. Regarding reducers and barlows they work diferently depending the distance of the sensor. I think the backfocus distance is usualy 50 to 55mm from the reducer to camera sensor, considering that you can use extensions to get to that reduction, if you place a reducer closer to the camera it will reduce more, if i remember corectly. also you can use stellarium or other field of view simualters to see what is the view with your camera and the focal length you want, and see if is enough to capture the full disc of the moon with your camera sensor.

      You can see if is show the settings in the video, but you make the settings usualy different each time depending on the moos phaze and seeing conditions, if posible is good not to overexpose the moon not go a to high gain and exposures that are fast enough not to get the moon blury

      @@Astro105. You must experiment the same for the planets. Even more.because of the seeing. What can help you is the histogram tool in sharpcap and keep jupiter at around 70 to 80 percent at histogram. You can also set an exposure seting of 1/30 s or 30 ms in sharpcap and change only the gain if the seeing conditions are better you can go faster at 25 or 20 ms and if needed tweak the gain so jupiter is not to dim or to bright

    • @GalaxyArtMedia
      @GalaxyArtMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Zara. A planetary camera should give you the best results, these cameras are optimized for planetary captures. And other model a lite bit more expensive support also ROI, Region of interest and even if you change the camera resolution you will not lose details on the planet since it will crop from the sky area, also you will be able to go with faster frame rates then most dslr cameras and you have access to planetary programs like Sharpcap, there are programs that support also dslr cameras but not so many. Now if we should discuss expensive dslr and flagship phones compered with cheap planetary cameras, to make this comparison we must test and see wich one performs best

    The two cables isn't about performance it's about power. Some USB ports don't push out the juice it will require, hence the additional splitter cable to provide the extra. Most USB 2.0 and ever 3.0 WILL push out more than enough. Only early USB 2.0 / USB 1.1 will not.
