    “A ticket entrance to this lovely square” literally a world heritage site along the former silk roads that was a historic place of math, science and commerce 😍 Uzbekestan is def on my travel list. I’ve met 3 people from there before. Sounds and looks like an amazing place!

      @@Lubin-md4ml Samarkand has epic history. It used to be a very prosperous place. Look it up. It’s older than Rome. Was last conquered by Alexander the Great. Poets and historians called it “The Pearl of the Eastern Muslim World.” It was one of the most important cities along the Silk Road trade route between China and the Mediterranean. There used to be a school of mathematics and astronomy there that students would come from all over to study at with famous mathematics and astronomers of the times. And those rocks are actually covered in absolutely stunning tile work. Oh, if these walls could talk! 😍 I am super into business, math and science. Perhaps you’re more into art?

Also Samarkand was made the way it is largely due to the psychopath timur who burned down Damascus and Aleppo but kidnapped all their artisans to Samarkand so they could build him something wondrous

    I was there for a week about 15 years ago. I made a 7 day stopover, at no extra charge, on Uzbekistan Airlines between Thailand and Europe. The whole country is beautiful. At that time, not much in the way of quality restaurants, I hope it's better now.

    Some people assume that Uzbekistan is not safe and you may get robbed, but the truth is it is one of the safest countries in the world. People there are very friendly, food is delicious. It is an historical country, with a lot of traditions. If you ever go there, visit their weddings, you will be amazed. 🎉 and make sure to visit Samarkand and Bukhara cities, they are beautiful. And yes it is cheap, but not that cheap, for $1 you can probably buy one or two very delicious meals.

    Cuba is a lot cheaper than Uzbekistán - $1 is a full meal in a government restaurant. For perspective, Cuban coffee is typically around $0.04.

    I'm Russian, have visited Uzbekistan for two times as a guest, and was really impressed with how cheap and healthy their food is...most veggies and fruits in our supermarkets are exported from Uzbekistan & Tajikistan, and they're relatively cheap even in Russia, but there such food costs almost nothing. Literally the best place in the world to live a healthy life, the climate and nature are also amazing. Highly recommend y'all to visit this country at least once, that's a wonderful place to see as a tourist.

    Funny fact, I traveled to Uzbekistan in March 2013, spent 4 hours clearing customs to enter the city because I had 7k in cash , mostly in $20 and $100 bills, they had to write serial numbers down of every banknote! By hand! And gave me a piece of paper saying if I wanted to leave Uzbekistan with any cash, notes will have to match numbers of certificate! What!!! I was stunned. And no one accepted cards, only cash. I had to walk literally with backpack full of cash 😅

      @lw1xwyd828 Uzbekistan isnt that much poor, just prices are more fair in many parts of it. ave salary in country for a month is $350-$650 , I know it is 10 times lower than in nyc but still the prices in NYC are 12 times bigger than in Tashkent and 24 times higher than n many parts of Uzbekistan, so it can really beuncomfortable to live in some of the wealthiest cities for people too.

    he payed 6 bucks. i'd pay at least 52€ ... but 5 min on a camel is lame so i'd shell out 112€ ...

    I dont know in which uzbekistan you have been but pilav costs about 4-5 usd at least and the entrance fees are also way more expensive because they segragate the tourists into 3 groups (locals, neighboring countries, others) and if you are not their neighbour or uzbek you pay also around 4-8 usd to enter any sight.
    It is not expensive but it is not deffinetely 1 usd

    in uzbekistan tge prices are 10x higher for tourists 😂 keep that in mind and try to find locals to help you out. For example, my father used to help his friends from other countries by booking hotels on his passport, because for uzbek passport the rooms are significantly cheaper

    I feel some of the things are fairly priced.. For instance, in East Africa Pilau costs between 70 cents to $1.5 dollar and tea without milk if the cheapest even 10cents...a camel ride is also 50 cents-$1

    I'm from Uzbekistan. it was interesting to see that. You can't get as many kebabs as he showed for 1 USD. only one. What he didn't show is taxi price. you can get from one corner of the city to another in less than 3 USD using taxi. public transport is about 10 cents
