  • Thomas Sankara was only 37 years old when he was shot and killed by soldiers on October 15, 1987, after a bloody coup that saw his close friend, Blaise Compaoré, take control of the country.
The duo had staged a coup four years earlier, which saw Sankara become president in August 1983.
Popularly known as "Africa's Che Guevara", Sankara has remained somewhat of an icon across Africa and an inspiration to many Pan-Africanists.
As president, Thomas Sankara renamed the country from Upper Volta to Burkina Faso: which means, "Land of Upright People".
Thirty-four years after his death, the mystery surrounding Sankara’s death is yet to be solved. Those allegedly involved in it are yet to be prosecuted and are still at large.
Now, the begging question is, who killed Thomas Sankara? #HistoryVille #ThomasSankara

I think the title is seeking to attract people who have never heard of Sankara. Che Guevara is universally known, so people might be curious about Sankara. I had not heard of Sankara before this video; after it, I agree he is more impressive than Che.
      Just advertising, I think.

He did NOT fight in that border conflict. He led a contingent of soldiers who led a stealth mission disarming a malian border contingent, and captured them, this was pivotal in ending the war and because the mission was so dangerous and so tremendously successful, he became an instant national hero and this bolstered his political career.

Just a month ago there are many Originals Out from AFRICA'S tallent and the West Stolen it and they made it their own. For example the National Anthem of Ghana or Keniya. Not sure, but one of them is. All intellectual CREATION from Any Country in Africa Attain Copy Rights it as Intellectual Property So that no one can steal your own. See, Even Africas Spirits the West Steal it and Again Slavery! Do you like that? Sorry this comment is mostly unrelated to the program in this presentation, however really the music at the end is awesome.

The anti-Thomas Sankara plot was thick. Anyone who wants to come to verity should look at the trail: Charles Taylor is in prison in the US of A in Massachusetts He is manumitted without following manumission procedure. There is also no jail break even if they could have organised a jail break. So ask yourself this question; who ordered Charles Taylor's manumission before the end of his sentence. The answer is clear. The person or entity that ordered his 'freedom' is the biggest plotter in Thomas Sankara's assassination. And it can only be France working with the State Department of the United States of America. So America government and France were behind Thomas Sankara's assassination

Shortsighted his plant to fight desertification is just as relevant now in the Sahel nations as when he planted those millions of trees seeing hiv as a potential threat fighting against polygamy and arraigned marriages advancing women’s advancement doesn’t seem shortsighted to me did he make mistakes yes but his foresight was on point
