You can't miss a good man when you see one. Sankara was a good man, with good intentions for his people. May Africa know how to protect it's leaders.

Like Malcolm X, MLK, Che, Toussaint, Lumumba etc. Sankara didn’t just look like a dignified intelligent leader he actually was. Therefore his life couldn’t be allowed to flourish along side the life of his nation. The forces of “Democracy, Liberty, Brotherhood “ and “Human Rights “ residing in North America and Western Europe (hint, hint🤫) couldn’t tolerate a leader who actually wanted to makes those ideas realized in places like Africa.

You took the words out of my mouth. I just learned about him and was completely surprised how after going to John Jay a college of law and revolution he was not mentioned with Che, MLK, and Malcolm. Anything in relation to Africa was about corruption and Mandela who I think was their puppet and why he lived. This was a group (Country) effort to rid Thomas. One thought that came to mind from this Doc. That when a colonizer country gives us back our "independence" all it is are privileged to be a part of THEIR democracy. saying we are fit to now be a part of the governance they establish as long as their own people are a part of our government by calling it "relations" so much was unlocked to me from this. Once you don't follow their relations suddenly your own people are the ones to take your life. which we know that the order came from hint hint France.

I suggest the documentary "the children of Sankara".
He sent 600 teenagers orphans study in Cuba 🇨🇺 to become engineers, nurses, doctors. It was 300 boys and 300 girls. He went to visit them. They were supposed to return to Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 and help the country. He was assassinated and when they came back, Compoare refused to recognise their diploma, and make their life hard. Some committed suicide.
      He was a great man.
I think he is the greatest stateman of the 20th century.
      1. Noel Thomas Isodore Sankara
      2. Nelson Mandela (South Africa 🇿🇦)
      3. Michael Collins (Ireland) & Patrice Emery Lumumba (RDC).

In Africa, success or failure of a country heavily depends on the nobility of the leader. The death of such a leader can set a country 30 years back. We have to outgrow the savior mentality. The best way to ensure we can progress is to absorb the ideals of such men and pass them down to our children. That way they know what to expect from a leader. They can measure everyone in charge against that yard stick. They can use it to identify who is true and who is false. They can use the convictions as a fire to bring down corrupt pawns who don't prioritize them. The chances of leaders with Sankara's character coming to power will be increased. The chances of long periods of bad leadership will be reduced. This way, it won't be on one man to ensure our progress. It's up to us all.

Baba Thomas Sankara is a great Pan African leader warrior and hero.
He led Burkina Faso to her freedom forty-one years ago.
He was handsome, selfless and defiant.
He brought in free education as well as free health care for our people that were less fortunate.
He appointed our women in governmental posts.
Plus, he gave them non expensive cars.
    Baba Thomas Sankara opposed corruption.
He was the real president of Burkina Faso and not Biase Compaore who stabbed Sankara at the back with the help of these demons of France.

  • @questor5189
    @questor5189 ปีที่แล้ว +1

According to my research, Thomas Sankara was a Marxist Revolutionary. But his character and upbringing testify to his faith in Christ.
Nonetheless, his respect for a multi-ethnic Burkina Faso and also for Muslims garnered him much admiration. His efforts to grant equality to women are highly commendable, as are his efforts to achieve equity for every citizen.
Sankara's assassination was one of betrayal, demonstrating an evil nature to his successor. Had he tempered down his resistance to French interests and opened greater dialogue with those who opposed him, Sankara may have one day become a democratically-elected President of a Socialist Burkina Faso.
Unfortunately, his life mimics the path of Patrice Lumumba, whose dealings with Moscow signalled his demise.
