  • Steve and Kristi Goncalves, the parents of one of the four slain University of Idaho students, joined NewsNation’s “Banfield” exclusively Thursday after Bryan Kohberger‘s first court appearance. Kristi said when she first saw Kohberger in court, she felt nothing. "I just could not believe that he has done what he has done. … I just was numb."

Even unintentionally, you have now PUBLICLY put MISINFORMATION out there on the internet and into the universe. I highly suggest & advise to do the minimum amount of background research before publicly making a statement because A SIMPLE SEARCH WOULD INDICATE HOW VERY WRONG YOU ARE. Maddie had so many loved ones and among them are IN FACT HER LOVING MOTHER WHOM SHE ADORED, her biological father/Dad, as well as her mother’s husband/Maddie’s stepfather whom was like a Dad to her too. Again, please BE MINDFUL, CAUTIOUS, and CAREFUL with MAKING ASSUMPTIONS BASED ON AN INCOMPLETE PICTURE. Your knowledge about her family is clearly lacking and reflects extremely poorly on you. Seriously, that really broke my heart. Both of the parents look so young, especially the mom. I can't believe they have 5 children, 3 of whom are adults. Kalee was absolutely stunning. Her and Maddie both looked like movie stars. They sound like they were just as beautiful on the inside as well. That's even more impressive. Ethan and Xana looked like they could have done an Ivory commercial because they looked so healthy and were naturally beautiful. They seemed so kind as well. They were all really great, smart, talented young adults just getting started on making lives for themselves as adults. What a horrible, tragic thing to have such a cruel, heartless monster just take all of that away in a matter of minutes. All of the families built them up for their whole lives, showing live & support yet, in one swoop that was all taken away. I will NEVER be able to wrap my mind around these types of crimes. I am guessing that the empty shells walking around need to feel some power or just need to feel. My opinion is the same as these parents. Prison is not enough. B.K., if found guilty, needs to leave the earth.

      I understand what you’re saying, but to a parent, losing a child whether it’s an only child or one of many would be just as traumatic. One of my mom’s friends lost her teenage son in a boating accident, and she said one of the worst thing people would say to her was “at least you have four more.” People really don’t know what to say, and don’t realize how hurtful that would be to a parent who just lost a child.

    • @christakaratza9801
      @christakaratza9801 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@karendobbs8153 sadly I think it’s alittle more difficult for parents of only children. Not because only children are loved anymore than children who have sibling, however, if you still have a child it gives you a reason to keep going. You have to in order to offer your remaining children any sort of normalcy. Maddies parents will now never see any child get married, they will never have any grandchildren, holidays and birthdays and laughter will be a thing of the past. Their home is now quiet and absent of the laughter that having children (even grown) brings. I think all four of these families have suffered unimaginable loss & I wish them all peace and justice.

    • @karendobbs8153
      @karendobbs8153 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@christakaratza9801 I do agree with what you’re saying, but it would be no less traumatic whether you have one child or four. I have three, and the very thought of losing one of them would be unbearable, but I do agree with what you’re saying. I think I was thinking about my mom’s friend, and the comments from well meaning people, that she still had other children. I think that would have to be the worst thing a person could say to a parent after the loss of a child, even though they meant well.

    Dear God, I can’t even begin to imagine what they are going through as parents. I’m so impressed at how well spoken and thoughtful they are when speaking. I think I’d be in a hole unable to function. But I learned recently we never know how we will actually react in grief. My dad recently died and we didn’t expect him to ever pass first (before mom) and loos him like this. And I have not even been able to cry at all not once since the day at the hospital when I held his hand and told him to let go and We’d be okay, go be with the creator and all our passed loved ones in Paradise. Not one single tear has fallen. And I have a roller coaster of feelings. It’s nothing as I expected. So I never want to judge anyone on how they handled grief. As a mom tho this just devastated me for them. 4 great life’s just completed snuffed out for absolutely no reason. I wouldn’t want to know the very gross details of my babies last moments either. But it’s all so public I know it will be hard to no hear everything. I’m praying for all the families! 😢

    Wow Kaylee looks just like her mom 🥺
    I have no idea how they are able to do this interview, I wouldn’t be able to console myself enough to speak as clearly and as eloquently as them. Her father’s statement when he said “you picked the wrong girls, they were the type to stick up for you against the bully.” My eyes immediately filled with tears. The heaviness and pain in their voices make me dizzy even watching it through a screen. And I don’t think I’ve met another parent that stated their desire for the DP as respectfully as them. I know I wouldn’t be this calm.
    I know everyone says it for every tragedy but it’s almost impossible for us to comprehend how much strength it takes to fight for justice after your child is stolen from you. If I lost my child this way my heart would literally stop beating on the spot, I don’t know where you would even start to begin healing…
    “We’re not good at this stuff.” “Well, you don’t want to be good at this stuff” 😞 I had to remind myself to breathe. I truly can’t imagine.

    The Gonclaves family are just amazing people! My heart breaks for them! They will go on to help other families, and of that I have no doubt.

    Such incredible humans. I've lost my mother, sister & brother all since 2018 to various things, I'll ess, addiction etc and What the Goncalves say is so important. Appreciate who we have while we have them. I just want to give them a big hug and cry with them. The strength is enormous. I give them so much credit for being the face or spokespeople for the families of the victims.

      @@Suesue2 aww, that's so kind. Thank you. I can just relate. Just like most of us. The pain these families are going through and they still have the strength to forgive. It's a beautiful thing.

    I'm totally, utterly SHOCKED by their calmness. When the journalist mentioned how Kaylee looks so much like her mom, and they smiled so calmly without breaking down 😭 I'm SO SHOCKED. My dad passed away 15 years ago and the moment someone reminds me of something unique or special about his memory, I get choked up and eyes well up 🥺 I'm HAPPY THEY ARE CALM, perhaps their shocked still. God bless them thru this ordeal.

      They are in shock. They are hiding a world of hurt behind those smiles. I'm sure of it.

    This family is so beautiful. No one should have to go through with this, my heart goes out to them. Thank goodness they have a church and good pastor to council them 🙏❤🙏

    The picture of Kaylee with the sunflowers 🌻 is so beautiful. She shines in it as bright as the flowers. May she always shine on them from above. 😢 RIP to all the victims and prayers for their families.

    Sending my deepest sympathy and condolences to all the victims family and friends. I could not possibly imagine the devastating heartbreak you all must be experiencing right now. No parent should have to ever bury their child. Heart broken for all of you. 💔
    To have the courage and strength to forgive such an unforgivable act, as a mother myself, I have so much respect for you. I don't think I could find it in my heart to be able to forgive even if it was for my own benefit. Unbelievable strength you all are showing during this.
