Dear Camian, I must point out a Potencial error in the chaos knight detachment rule and the icon of chaos from the cultists. The trigger for the leadership reroll is the dark pact which dont exists in the ally rule. Sadly they cannot reroll that test. I planned a similar tactic but stombled around this triggerword. Regardless you create great contend
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber Exactly! The firebrand has a lot of synergy with this detachment. Also don't forget that you can take... traitor guardsmen... for some reason. They look cool! :)
I love this whole "Mechanicus Knight House" detachment but I wish it offered support for the Mechanicum Knights like the Moirax, Atrapos, etc. Go all in with the exotic weapons and relic armors that these Knight Houses have through their ties to the Forge Worlds.
This is what I always kinda wanted Knights to be personally - lots of little infantry and big robots. I really hope they lean into this further in the future tbh.
Damned/Cult units should be included in the CK codex when it's released; I hate having to buy another book just to use a code so that I can include throwaway trash units in my CK army. As fun as this new CK detachment seems, it really feels like its for a Cultist/Traitor Guard army with CK allies, but done in reverse. Only 1 or 2 of the strats actually apply to big knights
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber I'd love a duel kit where it's either humans with Tau rifles, or humans with some kind of sword and board setup. So they either act as an alt form of regular Tau infantry, or more melee focused chaff for dealing with all the melee maniacs the galaxy has to throw at them.
@@Bluecho4 kroot are the chaff to deal with combat infantry. The rules that did exist at one point were for 6 humans, 3 with lasguns and 3 with pulse rifles. I think of Guevesa as Tau Breachers - willing to get in close (or be expended)

like the 2 new knight detachments. got Knights (mostly Chaos knights) and i got the Agents and CSM codex's. this might lead to me getting the Admech codex as i like the theme. ffs a 10th army
If you end up expanding the AdMech collection, focus a bit on Cataphrons and Kastellans. They're some of the higher points-per-dollar models GW sells. (Though the robots only get access to the army rule under certain detachments).
Yes it kind of does. I’ve thought that nids would get that and GSC would get like a admech/bladed cog. Bit now I’m leaning towards allying nids in. Funny enough I think it’ll work similar to the CK > damned rule.
iirc this is lore unfriendly, as the hive fleet arrives it drops the psychic veil, the genestealers realize they've been had, and then get horribly eaten the same as everything else on the planet does. that's why GSC and tyranids can fight each other in the tabletop
@@cactus2304 I’ve heard some lore that sometimes they fight alongside each other until the very end when they drop the veil. Other times, I’ve heard that some cults are even spared. It doesn’t seem to be super consistent
As a GSC, would Cult Ambush be better if it were changed to "Upon a units demise, roll a d6. On a 3+ it get duplicated into Reserves. For every success, the required number goes up by 1, to a max of 6." (This may reset every battle round)
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber I don't have much of a eye for balance, but having watched some Battle Reports where the GSC had maybe 1 or 2 units return the ENTIRE GAME makes me desire more consistency. I'm just not sure how to balance it out so that it doesn't swing the other way and GSC effectively have 3000 points to everyone else's 2000.
I would say for balance it should not reset By that point they will have gotten 3 units back for free(by the time they hit 6) and that's a huge swing in a game.
The rules for the knight detachments are great, but when you only have one detachment the next one being about souping in models from other armies that you may or may not have feels wrong to me. It feels like a money grab. Especially when these rules will likely not carry over into the next edition so those extra models you bought might become useless for you
New Imp Knight detachment has it so you can take Admech basic troops but... I'd rather have Agents units in most situations and take advantage of the bog standard index detachment. Got to say, the new Grotmass Knight detachments really disappointed me. I wanted more _Knight_ specific detachments, like Dark Eldar got with Sky Splinter, not new ways to soup units in an army that already was. That sort of thing I'd rather have been in a codex along with more faction specific options cause right now it feels like they built up the hype only to say "Sike! Here is some soup instead of some meat. See you in a year!", I hate this mindset.

Ok than its clear. Firebrand do General rerolls thats nice.
@@PallyChan You will want more than just shirtless dudes with swords backing up your Knights.
honestly if they make the agents " in this detachment there are no limits on the amount of assassins "
it would be REALLY FUN
"Hello, I have brought a Skirmish warband to an army scale game." * Shreds enemy army *
The disrespect GW put on brood brothers will not be forgotten! Thank you for your service.

Hey Christian I just won a match against Tau with sisters! Also great vid as always 😊

2:12 Imperial Agents' rule is "if taken as an army, your units are cheaper" xD
effectively, yes. But not on all units - Agents Deathwatch for example
T'au Gue'vesa detachment! Come on GW do it!
just a unit or a kill team would be great!
@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber well looking at what knights get why not a 25% AM alliance for T'au as Gue'vesa.

hmm this gives me hope for a GSC detachment that incorporates Tyranids maybe.
to simulate how the hive fleet have just arrived :D

This might be a very budget way to get ad mech meaningfully on the table

Almost makes me wish I had an AdMech army.
50 Cultists? My brother they're 50pts for 10. You can take 100 fresh meaty Cultists to grease the gears
250pts max for 1000 points
but in larger games...
