Just to confirm for folks checking the comments. These rules are crusade specific, they are not tournament legal unless a TO specifically allows it. Even if you are playing a pick up game I'd highly recommend asking your opponent since these are a direct army buff with no downsides. Some players might not feel it's fair to get a free buff outside of typical matched play balance.
Our Radiant Champions are currently stalking the attached units of our enemy's army lists in the meta, hunting down all of those hidden unit leaders, Von Carmien. Be forewarned. As for the leaders... Sit tight. Or run. Makes no difference, you're mine.
Stupid question time - is this just for Crusade? or is this for regular play too? I feel like it was ambiguous from the video? >< But I am also kinda dumb.
@scarletsurge5624 just an add-on. You can choose to not use it, but there's no reason not to. If you plan on using it in a tournament, I'd recommended contacting the TOs see confirm that they'd be okay with it, but it is fully legal
Why the F we dont have a FAQ on the site with that ? Wtf. It's a MMO game where you need to find your stuff in shops for upgrade gameplay ??? That's good huh, but put it in army rule ???
I gotta get this issue off white dwarf so I can find out if this is crusade exclusive or not. If it is crusade exclusive, then are all the other armies getting extra rules in white dwarf for crusade only so I can give them to my space marine opponents?
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber I'm a few weeks behind with my GW magazines for some reason, order them right from GW too. Paid for a year subscription. Just got my November one last week. Probably because of being in Australia 🤣
You'll need to contact the organizers for the tournament in question. Because from the video, it looks like different tournaments set their own standards for what they'll accept and what they won't.
I can't imagine that it is tournament legal. It is too much of a buff to simply add into the army without massive hits elsewhere. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this were the new detachment rule, but then again why would they put it in White Dwarf?
aaaahh.... yes... squirming advance. It looks quite similar to the old "Return to the shadows". that stratagem so useful, mythical and characteristic of a "guerrilla" army. We no longer have that, we cannot leave any unit at the end of the enemy movement phase. but curiously Orks, Mechanicus, Astra, Tau and countless armies have such a stratagem in some of their detachments! who wrote the codex; GSC?? someone who was in a hurry, or someone who was just passing the time at work. I know who did NOT write the Codex gsc. It was not written by someone who had a minimum of respect for the lore or the essence of the army.
Wholeheartedly aggree. I only played a couple games with the codex this edition. Every now and again I have a look through the book because I get the urge to field my cult. Some of the best and funniest games I ever had were with that army (before 10th). But as soon as I get to those silly rules like Neophytes getting sticky objectives while acolythes get the CP generation while chilling on an objective.. or stuff like the once per game ability of the Benefictus where they get to push their 5++ up to a whopping 4++ FOR THAT MODEL ONLY, coupled with detachments that often favor only a small handful of units of our already very small unit roster ... I immediately lose interest again. This book honestly feels so .. wrong, so many things don't make any sense. I am really looking forward to our next book, maybe then I will have more fun with that army again.
If old return to the shadows was still a thing, GSC would be absolutely busted. Also, I have had a lot of fun with the new return to the shadows. It really makes your opponent think, if they should even shoot you at all
@ really? So if the old version of "return to the shadows" came back would we be so "busted" that we could destroy C'tans, Leman Russes, and great demons? Explain that to me. Drukkari Mandrakes do that naturally, and I don't seem so "busted." Please explain to me why we would be so "busted". I am very interested to know
Yeah but you can understand because those poor GSC players were only sitting on a paltry 60% win rate. So they really do need a series of great improvements and straight buffs. Unlike sisters on their despicable, unacceptable 50% win rate who must be nerfed. NERFED INTO THE GROUND WITH YOU! Seriously I'm happy GSC are getting cool stuff, but I assume there units are going way WAY up in price now right? no?
1)This is not for competitive play 2)Sisters got rule nuked for some reason but gsc did get quite a decent nerf point-wise on two key units. And by key I mean they are in every army, in one case it's multiples in every army ;) (still not fair to do tripple-tap to sisters mind you)
The win rate relies on trapping most opponents in their deployment zone. It’s a way to win that lots of casual players (like me lol) don’t like. The win rate for casual games is going to be much worse than the competitive numbers.
@@Amdor Sure I'm just being salty ;) Also I do play in a crusade, though perhaps luckily for me the GSC player switched to a Chaos after the GSC codex due to his disappointment with the rules. I imagine he's kicking himself a bit now...
@MetPhD This is just not true anymore. Different detatchments win differently. If you want classic GSC as a glass cannon, Host of Ascension let's you deal ridiculous damage as an ambush army. Things have changed a lot since the codex release.
I can’t wait to not know what these do ….

This is so cool, i originally wanted alpha legion, but then committed hard to gsc and ravenguard. This kinda gives me the best of what i wanted
You'll get caught up in the CROSSFIRE!
I am so glad someone else is old enough to remember this commercial, lol.
Isn’t this from WoW?
@@TheLongVigil You COULDN'T escape this commercial back then.
I was just thinking that gsc need more rules.

It's both, and you're fine for asking questions. this crap gets confusing.
@tylerchadwell1267 Oh cool! And thank you, yeah >
Does it replace something we already have? Or is it just an add-on to the army?
@scarletsurge5624 just an add-on. You can choose to not use it, but there's no reason not to. If you plan on using it in a tournament, I'd recommended contacting the TOs see confirm that they'd be okay with it, but it is fully legal
I'm afraid even in the White Dwarf it is only listed as crusade rules. They are not for matched play.
everyone asking if this is a crusade rule or or not, or saying the video is "ambiguous" about it. did you even watch the video?!
11:33-11:42
In the White Dwarf issue, it is also written that these rules are applicable to Crusade but can also be used "as a standalone set of rules"
I might want to actually play my GSC now 🎉
So is this an additional faction rule or a replacement one? Or a detachment? I'm confused
A crusade add-on xD you increase your crusade points by two as a tradeoff for using this rule
Man, those rules would be so much better if they were replacing what we currently had.
Why the F we dont have a FAQ on the site with that ? Wtf. It's a MMO game where you need to find your stuff in shops for upgrade gameplay ???

Because this is only for crusade

I remember sisters got a set of crusade exclusive rules in a similar way, not sure about how many other factions.
Ahh this is crusade rules. So they are in addition to the existing crusade rules?
yes

Is this tournament legal?
Generally, white dwarf rules are casual games only.

Good Good BUT will these be changed within the month after they see how good they are. Lol

Someone who plays AGAINST GSC but never AS them. That's my pet theory.
