When Bobby's building a 79 series he is literally building(welding) it and not just paying a company to assemble it for him. Top stuff mate keep the vids coming 🤙
The end of the rear stub axle has 3 little grooves cut in it, you use these to line up the grub screws for the lock ring. Makes life a lot easier once you know this, i found out the hard way too.
must be a toyota thing.yanks use a self locking torqeuing, ratcheting encased nut.front & rear.or the nut, lock ring nut set up.basic,works.this guy should of gone with longer leafs..coils only carry 1 weight..&,now there selling parabolics for the rear,??..parabolics are for the front, only,.& there convex.have a look at a 2000 f250,or 87 f350.or 75 highboy f250.all parabolic.front.or 70,s transit van.another bullshit item is the front damper with the coil over it.what the fk is that..??.they sell some crap in this country,to people that dont know any better.
Superior absolutely kill it with the 4wd suspension game! Looks good mate can’t wait to see what you guys get up to this time round with the toy hauler and the TH-cam videos! Safe travels!
Sorry to hear about your old man mate. I'm always telling my old boy I can't wait til he carks it because I'll get more use out of his tools than him! 😅
Hey Bob, Was it difficult getting RWC/insurance for your original 5 link setup? I take it the Superior kit would come with all the paperwork for a RWC? Cheers Dave
Why would the triangulated 4 link make such an improvement in handling over the parallel setup ? You can run longer arms and reduce rear steer but it seems like a lot of work to just reduce a bit of rear steer on extreme flex situations ? Or is there a benefit across all off-road conditions that I’m overseeing. Asking because I’m currently looking into doing a long arm rear for my 105 😂 cheers
Also rear steer is a subject of short control arms, as one side approaches full droop that side will pull forward. The panhard does not cause rear steer but will cause the diff to shift laterally upon up and down travel
Taylor Wellstead it's just the side to side movement with the panhard the bigger the lift the steeper the angle ! The 105 rear of myn was never perfect obviously you have to move all the mounts I just wasn't happy with it. Long arms on your 105 will Probably be fine
Taylor Wellstead and I've probably confused my words with rear steer and bumpster ! I never come out and said I'm a technical suspension guru just a DIYer that wasn't happy with my old set up
BOB & JEN TRAVELS - THIS IS AUSTRALIA yeah right okay, heard they are more of a stable setup, just can’t get my head around why, will have to do some research. Amazing build and thanks for the reply mate!
Haha yeh fair enough!!!!! Was just interested to see your thoughts! Sick video though mate! Super helpful! I’ve got a portalled 76 and in the middle of sussing out a coil kit.

Great work and thanks for sharing. How do you find it with the superior kit? I'm just about to order a weld in kit from them.
Is the rig still the twin turbo 200 series motor you originally built? Cheers
Hey Bob,
Was it difficult getting RWC/insurance for your original 5 link setup? I take it the Superior kit would come with all the paperwork for a RWC? Cheers Dave
Will you need to get that engineered? Or is it still played from the first conversion?

I’ve got a portalled 76 and in the middle of sussing out a coil kit.

Alex I'm already engineered mate so just have to get my engineer to look over it
Did you get superior to do tru tracker kit while they built the diff?
bluebavarian94 nah I didn't mate just a little out of my budget at the time
Hey mate does this kit get engineered for 35s ?
