    Thanks for the video Albert. I've been using my FS-i6s with the TGY-iA6C receiver and it works great. I haven't tried the voltage monitoring and alarm settings, but now with your help, I've got that implemented too. So now I have a buzzer on the quad, OSD with flashing low voltage display, and the transmitter beeping. I guess I'm covered.

    excellent discovery!!!!! yes, now i can get rid of that cheap battery alarm device and got my buzzer working

    What size micro JST 2-wire connector plugs into the receiver B-DET? is it 1.0? 1.25? 1.50? I can't find the correct size on the internet. Hopefully you can advise. Thanks.

    It's a shame they dropped signal strength for the new Turnigy Evo. That was a nice feature that you could use as a crude tracker.

      I was playing with my new radio today. I really like it. I'm having a bit of trouble coupling it with the Kiss FC. It works in Futaba sbus but the Turnigy isn't a futaba and it feels a bit rough, particularly on throttle

    Hi Albert, do you know is it possible to get RSSI in betaflight OSD using a flysky i6s radio and flysky a8s or some other flysky micro receiver ?

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not with the micro receivers. Only ones I know work are the X6B and iA6B

      No, that's only possible with Taranis.

    I can confirm that on low signal the tx beeps to warn you, I cut off both of my antenna's on a punch out... lol.... I've fixed the antennas, but now their very short, I still get over 300m without any low signal warning.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome. Good to know. I tried a range test where I stuck the receiver in a metal ammo box and sealed it... walked away more than 200m with no warning, no drop out. I was pretty shocked. I think for miniquads we should be good to go.

    what is "set ibus_report_cell_voltage = OFF" in CLI? :D should I turn it ON?

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      CLI setting to determine if the voltage reported is Vbatt or calculated average cell voltage. It's only important if you're using an OSD and getting voltage info through the flight controller.

    Hi, first of all you run a great channel ☺
    I have a question. Do you soulder the small cable (for rssi and batt voltage monitoring) directly to your lipo pads? or on empty pads on your pdb?
    Just received this receiver and looking forward to using it.
    greetings

    • @AlbertKimTV

    Maybe they'll add RSSI alarm in future firmware. Should be possible since the data is already there in the sbus stream? (But HK seems sloooowww with their own branded firmware updates, at least for the i6s.)
    Oh I think "vol" is Volts. We're just so unused to seeing it without a capitalized V. Somebody send Albert a coffee! ;)
    btw -- I hope you're going to review the FS-A8S reciever.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      These FlySky radios are different between the Turnigy branded and the OEM and the different firmware capabilities are hard to keep from getting confused! :)
      Yeah I have the micro receiver on the way. I hope it will be a winner... I may just use those from now on...

      Why not use a ubec with pig tails to white plastic . Use 3.5 round connectore. Next , just run pig tails from where the other p/t are and run them to the other b/r wires. These will run off esc power cords which are the lipos. I use ubec for my rc boats which save on weight factor. Food for thought.

    Nice, thanks for the helpful video! Do you think the beeping is loud enough to hear when flying with fpv goggles in an outside environment?

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The beeping should be loud enough. It's the same volume as on the i6S and I could hear that outside next to freeway noise.

  • @jetserge
    @jetserge 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've read somewhere that it should beep if more than 80% of the packets are lost. Can you confirm it? It's kind of how RSSI is supposed to work.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, when I powered off the receiver, the transmitter does beep at you. How do I simulate 80-99% packet loss?

    • @jetserge
      @jetserge 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Take the controller and go 300+m away from the receiver or shield the RX antennas with walls/metal so that you don't have to go too far from it. But you will need some servo or some other way to verify that you still have the control when it starts to beep.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      RSSI is definitely being sent back to the Evolution but there is no readout anywhere and I haven't been able to fly far enough away to trigger any warnings. Someone else on my channel mentioned it does beep at you when the RSSI gets low but the current firmware doesn't tell you signal strength.

    • @darrenduds20
      @darrenduds20 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shame about the signal strength but i suppose its not a big issue if youve got your goggles on fpv anyways as it beeps . Maybe they will bring that out in a future firmware update.
