      There is a setting in the Delta 2 to enable higher power. It current limited because of it dual use for Car and Solar. So to not overload the car charging input, you need to change the settings in the app to allow faster solar charging. I never plugged a solar panel on them though, so I have no idea.

      @@uzhacuzhacny1083 You got to be careful with X-Boost ! It will lower the voltage to maintain a high amperage (So keeping up with the resistance). So this might be OK for certain type of load, but for some load it might destroy your equipment.

    I wanted to cover bluetti vs EcoFlow more, but the amount of complaints I'm getting from that company is wild. Even distributors say that they cannot contact them. They don't answer their phones. If you have any type of warranty claim or dead on arrival unit, you will be out for months. I actually figured people stop buying them given the complaints. But I had a lot of people in the comments section below ask how they compare. I mean I could review them if you guys want me to. I'll just go on and on about the complaints though. I might be a little bit annoying 😂😂

      I'd love a Bluetti vs Ecoflow as I've eyed both for a year, for future minivan or cargo van living. Both companies have made something just about in the range I'm seeking; so far favored Bluetti a bit more...so would love some discussion/banter...could be helpful or save a mistake!

    I have the father of this unit (2 of them), the Delta 1300. Can only do 400 watts solar and no app and not LifePo4. Good stuff is that it has almost 1300wh and an 1800 watt inverter and charges from 0 to 100% in 90 minutes. Two years of 24/7 usage and both still going strong in my van.

    • @Burn0u7
      @Burn0u7 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      Delta 1300 is a beast. Mine just works and I hope it stays this way. It doesn't have app ( is't dum ), but that's perfect for grid-out scenarios.

  • @kimmer6
    @kimmer6 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    I lent my friend my 900 watt inverter generator to charge his Delta 2 Ecoflow unit in his small motorhome. He camps in places without power. There is a very nice feature in the app where you can limit the charge current so it won't overload a weak circuit or small generator. 650 watts is the sweet spot on that little inverter generator, low noise, no overload while it charges the Ecoflow. The Ecoflow runs his LED lights, CPAP machine, and the 45 watt blower in the built in propane furnace.
    He loves the unit. I despise the name Solar Generator...... it's a ''Sunshine Compressor''.

    I bought the Delta 2 Max (2048WH) and they included a 160W portable panel - all for $1519. including tax and shipping. We used it in our truck camper for two weeks straight and it worked great as we went boondocking in the Tetons and Yellowstone. We kept our RV fridge running on it, plus the wife's hairdryer and a toaster. We charged it with a combination of 200W panel on the roof and a DC/DC charger from the truck. Love their products!

      How did you connect the dc to dc charger and what charger did you use

    • @horsetrainingresources
      @horsetrainingresources 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@stevegee9562 I used the Victron 12 - 12 DC-DC charger. I learned on that trip that the solar input was limited to 8A because it thought it was the car 12V charger. I have since tried different things including a cheap 12V to 24V upconverter (Amazon) - which worked to give me 192W - but I wanted to get more out of the 30A output of the DC/DC charger. I also added a 100AH lithium battery that I had leftover from a previous project and have the DC/DC in charge mode for that now. I then found out about the difference between the XT60 and XT60i connectors. The XT60i had a third contact on it which, when wired correctly, can signal to the EF to treat the input like a solar panel and override the car charging mode. To top it off, I went ahead and ordered a Victron 12/24 20A converted that can be adjusted to 12/30 at 20A. It is better suited to use full time, unlike the cheap 12/24 from China. The Victron quality is excellent and has built-in cooling fans, etc. that, coupled with the XT60i connector, should give me 550W-600W of charging. So I'll charge the lithium battery from the car DC/DC charger and charge the EF connected to the battery through the Victron 12/24 (30). That way I can continue to charge the EF from the battery without having to run the car. Hope that makes sense! Ask if not.

    I have the Delta 2 and use it to backup my kitchen. It will run every device I have there, although one at a time mostly.
    This video is spot on but I do want to point out some negatives.
    First of all, it can be a bit loud and at the same time run a bit hot at the inside. It is at 30 degrees celsius most of the time.
    Delta 2 Max seems to have solve this with better fans.
    As I do not sleep in my kitchen, it is fine ;-)
    Secondly, It roundtrip efficiency can be a bit low, problably because it can do 2C, bigger inverter means less efficiency on lower wattages.
    Thirdly, it is not a real UPS but I run laptops anyway and my internet modem is on a small APC UPS anyway so it is also surgeprotected.
    But yes, this is a perfect allround backup power unit that you can easily take with you and run every you want to run while away from the grid.

    I just bought this Delta 2 to run my workshop and its awesome. My workshop is to far way from my home for grid as its on the opposite side of my 12 acres so i needed a way to run things out there. I also like the idea of being able to use it at the house for power outages if necessary. It runs everything ive thrown at it so far and with a couple cheap panels on the shops roof it stays topped up all the time. Ive also been using it to run most everything in our small camper my lady uses as her she-shed and now we want to get her one for herself as she keeps taking it from my shop lol.

    I've been using the fast charge feature in my ecoflow river 2 for the last 6 months. Unfortunately it seems to have degraded the lifepo4 cells significantly. I would avoid using the fast charge.

      Agreed, Battleborn is going to need to lower their prices to stay competitive. I just can’t imagine paying that much for the raw batteries at this point when there are entire reliable plug-and-play solutions like this cheaper.

Have had two outages of 12 and 17 hours. Ran two freezers and a fridge np. The delta2 comes with us on camping and saved when the teardrop battery died. I also run tools on the work site. The kicker was I called all the customer service numbers and got thru with ECOFLOW np.

I am a Bluetti fan but Ecoflow has a lot more features in its software which provides a lot of flexibility. I also just bought a bougerv 2000w inverter for my jeep, once I get that installed, that and the fast charge capability of the delta2 will provide a lot of flexibility for camping/overlanding.

    First of all, thanks for GREAT tutorials and reviews as I begin to dive into the world of solar. I really love your unbiased/frank reviews and way of looking at power walls as well as these smaller systems.
    I'm trying to see if this Delta 2 (or really *any* of the small/mid sized portable generators) support ONLY enabling AC charging/pass through if battery is below a certain threshold (like the EG4 line of wall systems do). Ideally, this is to allow solar and AC charging to be plugged in, but ONLY fallback to the grid AC charging if the battery SoC% drops below some level (like 20%) and then shut back off again once above some SoC% (like 70%). This would allow me to have a fridge or air conditioner or computers plugged in and run almost entirely off solar (if sized right with say battery expansion) and battery except when sun charging might be low (winter/rainy/overcast days) or demand was too high and help do some peak shaving, essentially on a small single point appliance or circuit basis. Seems like a very logical mode for these to run in since they have relays already?
    *edit* ok...I just got one of these and I can feed back here that the APP does support only emergency charging from AC grid when unit is below a settable level. This is under the Energy Management setting and called "Backup Reserve", and if enabled, will kick on at 5% above your minimum discharge level setting and charge it back up to whatever you set (below your maximum charge limit). This is perfect to set it at 30% - 45% for storage tend mode too and allows for a monitor free battery tending. One thing that is NOT great with this setting, however, is when the unit is plugged into the grid, while it will refrain from charging the battery until it drops below "Backup Reserve" level, it WILL power AC demand from the grid rather than supply it from Solar or battery. This sort of defeats trying to have a peak shaving solar + battery to supplant grid demand by a small amount unless you manually unplug the unit from grid (which means you have no UPS backup in emergency if it gets below Backup Reserve). Interestingly enough, it DOES only supply DC demand from the battery/solar so only the AC outputs are supplied from grid until below Reserve.

Put a dc fuse block on another lifpo4 100 ah battery and and wired in a xt60 plug to it and now have another 1.2 kw available to the Ecoflow. Actually have 4 100 ah batteries available. Just need a faster charger for them. The 10 amp NOCO takes forever to charge one. Bigger faster charger in my future. Maybe the one you were showing in the vid. Thanks Will. Thanks for the video, Will. We bought a Delta 2 and 200 watts of rigid panels for under $1,000 last Christmas for an rv trip to Arizona. We have an older rv and wanted something we could also use to run a refirgerator overnight at our cabin, which has frequent power outtages. The system worked great. I found I could keep it in my rv storage compartment, connect to my rv shoreline cord, and use the app to turn it on when we wanted to run ac appliances. We could easily get a full charge to run our coffee maker, wife's hairdryer, small ac heater, electric toothbrush, and refrigerator part-time, and running it through the rv system charged our rv battery. It worked so well that we bought a 2kw extra battery and will upgrade to 500 watts of solar for this year's trip. The only thing I wish it had is the ability to charge with very small generators, it requires a 1,500 watt minimum.
    A lot of people talk about the charging noise, but that can be easily changed in the app through the charging wattage. Turn the charge wattage down if you don't need fast charging and it is quiet.

      @sweetbeep Keeping charging down to 400 watts is quiet, the fan might kick on once in a while to rid heat, and charges in less than 2 hours.
      It is very quiet at 200 watts and will charge in about 4 hours. That's what we usually have it set at when we charge in the vehicle, going higher will burn our fuse. One caveat here, the Delta 2 will only charge at 100 watts in a 12v socket. I use a cheap 200 watt pure sine wave inverter to get 200 watts with the 120v plug.

    I actually picked up one of these and the added battery for not much over 1000$ around fourth of july for a van build. The only thing I would note to most people doing this -- the 12v output is very limited. I have all three 12v ports wired together (the standard cigarette output and the two dc5521 ports), and that max's out at about 16AMPS of output. This should be able to run my lights, fan, fridge, and hopefully manage to do my water pump/diesel heater (maybe not all at the same time). So far, its been doing great with a residential solar panel on the roof.

    • @xeril91
      @xeril91 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just a little update - I think these might have trouble powering up a Dometic fridge on 12v power. The voltage seems to drop when the compressor engages, kicking in the low voltage settings for fridge, causing it to stop cooling. Just a warning for people trying to actually use the 12v power from these… I have tried wiring the two dc5521 ports with the 12v port and still didn’t help. Chaining my river 2 pro’s 12v power port with the delta 2’s seems to have it running. This will not be acceptable for my use, so i’ll have to sell and go a different route…

    Based on my research and I'm totally a newbie to solar generators, I chose the Bluetti AC180 vs Delta 2. This mostly on the much lower efficiency of most all EcoFlow products as shown on a few UTbers testing. For the same price the AC180 stood out to me.
    Of course, I am now waiting on delivery of my AC180, ordered on 7/01/23. I emailed them 3 days ago to ask for a ETA delivery. They replied the next day saying based on Prime Days sales, they were behind on most orders now. THey offered me 2000 BLuetti Bucks to my acct. For future purchases, I guess. But I have to recieve my first item to see how that purchase is handled. I'm still hoping for a early/mid August delivery.
    I liked the features and prices of the Pecron, Oupues and similar SolGens alot. But the way longer AC charge times steered me to Bluetti and Ecoflow products.

    I have the Ecoflow Delta Max and super impressed with its features and reliability. The only downside (for me) is the accuracy of the ‘power remaining’ feature on the display screen. While showing ‘1% remaining’, it will still run for a huge amount of time. Ecoflow advised to drain down to 0% and power to 100% 3 times and this will recalibrate the display. This does work but runs out of accuracy within a week or so. But on the whole? Super impressed.

    Need to ensure that that it is the XT60i connector and not the XT60. The XT60 limits the amount of power that is supplied to the Delta 2 for the purpose of plugin it into the cigarette lighter in the vehicle to I believe about 8-10 amps. The XT60I has a third pin that tells the Delta 2 to except the full rate of charge, I have the Delta 2 and the extra battery for our Pellet stove in the event of a power outage. It has a 30ms switch over from grid power to battery.

    I bought 2 pecron E2000's. They can put out 2000 watts each with 1980 on battery storage using lifepo4. 1300 watts of solar input on each 1200 on the wall. I paid 1099 for one and 855 for the second one during their prime sales. They are both expandable to 8kwh. No app and they use a brick for charging. Small price to pay for that type of capacity.

    Bought a small River 2 and also did not get solar cable. Upset me when camping! Bought it to camp! Great unit otherwise, prime deal was incredible

    I have been using the Delta 2 for months now and it works flawlessly. Note that it doesn't like freezing temperatures, you get a warning message. Has been an issue when car camping during the winter. Also note that it won't detect solar panels in cloudy weather (while my River Pro will under the same conditions). And the fans kick in quickly. Anyways, an excellent product.

      I've noticed the fans kick in on mine even if it's charged 100% and only running my 12v compressor fridge which varies from 30w-50w...

      What is the warning? Will freezing temps damage the unit permanently?
