    Excellent! I discovered the Neem oil treatment almost by accident. I used it last week on my petunias and picked off the caterpillars. Looking better already, no more frass and I have new flowers!

    Wonderful video! I live in the Midwest and summer storms can get pretty severe in June. Once such storm happen when I was out of town a few weeks back. At first I thought the holes and shredded petals were storm damage and the frass was the soil that had been kicked up. 🥴. Today I noticed that my 7 containers had buds that had dried up and realized it wasn’t storm damage. Thanks so much for posting this. Especially appreciate the organic approach. On my way to pick up one of the products you recommended. Wish me luck!!!

    Thank you for the video, i have always grown petunias and never had a problem, but this year wow! I did some research and found out what was doing the damage.. and like you purchased ready to use neem oil, its only been a couple days so can't quite tell if its working or not...
    They creep me out and the damage they do in just a lil bit of time. I hope the neem oil works

      Other than covering plants with row cover, not that I know of! I am using Spinoza (bT) this year and it is working well so far.

    Thank you for this video! I was new to petunias and couldn’t believe how fast they died because of budworms. How frequently do you use the neem oil on the plants to go preventive?

    • @pnwfarmandgarden
      @pnwfarmandgarden  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Weekly is best for Neem Oil. I am using Spinosad this year (the main ingredient is Bt) and it works well to, so far every two weeks is working for me.

    Hey there I'm new to this patunias world so I do want to know do neem oil actually help with the bug infestation? And does it help stop them from coming back? ☺️✨I need some extra tips☺️

      The neem oil definitely works, but you have to make sure to apply it once a week. I forgot to spray mine for two weeks in early September and they came back again. I ended up just pulling them and let the rest of the plants in the container shine. Next year I think I will try BT to see if it works better than neem.

    I had luck by using peppermint soap and water.

    They can destroy your plants in days if you don't check them every day.

    • @pnwfarmandgarden
      @pnwfarmandgarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes!! You are so right. One day you look at them and all of a sudden you don't have any blossoms.

    Demonic buggers I think the moth lays eggs in the green bud, I am battling them now, driving me crazy. Using Seven bug/garden spray weekly it's not working, I'm hand picking and pruning any brownish looking buds to stop them. Insatiable bastards!! 🐛🤬🤯

      Grrr, it's such a disappointment! You could also try BT or Thuricide. It doesn't kill on contact, but soaks into the plant and once the catepilar eats the plant it will kill it.
