Installing SdrGlut and iqSDR on Ubuntu 24.04

  • This video shows how to install SdrGlut and iqSDR on Ubuntu 24.04.
    The command used were -
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    sudo apt-get install build-essential -y
    sudo apt-get install libwxgtk3.2-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install libglew-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install libusb-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install libsoapysdr-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install libopenal-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install libliquid-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install freeglut3-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install libalut-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install libsndfile1-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install librtaudio-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install git -y
    sudo apt-get install cmake -y
    sudo apt-get install libhdf4-dev -y
    sudo apt-get install libfftw3-dev -y
    cd ~/Desktop
    git clone --depth=1 https//github.com/righthalfplane/SdrGlut.git
    cd SdrGlut
    make -f makefileUbuntu -j 8
    ./sdrglut.x
    cd iqSDR
    make -f makefileUbuntuOLD -j 8
    ./iqSDR.x
    Note:the colon after the https need to be restored.

    Great video series, thx! By any chance, have you taken a look at the GNSS Firehose RF front end? It sells for about $800, offers three synchronous channels, a great tcxo, ethernet tcp interface, and 70 Msps sampling. Pretty amazing device, tho it is optimized for GNSS work (which is what i do).

      I just took a look at the GNSS Firehose RF - it sounds pretty impressive. I played with the GPS a little with the limeSDR mini finding a good antenna was the main problem. The SDRs (RSP1, RSP2, RSPDuo, LimeMini 2.0, ANTSDR e200, Cariboulite 6G, HackRF One, RTL_SDR, bladeRF 2.0 micro XA5, RFSPACE NetSDR+, AirSpy HF+) that I have are mostly the same in sensitively. Although, a few standout in various frequency ranges as both good and bad.
