    It looks like you really enjoy upgrading your printer and you helped me a lot so I left you some ideas here:
    - I recommend put some aluminum or kapton tape on the printer and beyond the power supplies (the kapton one will help more to save heat) it's optional because lack of oxygen in the chamber.
    -The W1209 temperature sensor with relay will be applied for the fans of the power supply and the motherboard (it consume less power than one fan), or use inside the printer for disconnect power if it take high temperatures (this will be done with the raspberry too but IDK if you make it), have the two modes, on or off if X degrees.
    You can keep power on the raspberry using an old phone battery and a stepper up if you want to still seeing what happens after a shutdown.

    I got the Touch sensor installed correctly and I just straight copied your configuration.h file into mine, but I still cannot get anything to work. I keep trying to G-Code commands to get the pin to extend and retract and nothing will work. When I turn the printer on, the pin extends and retracts at startup, but it just won't do it with the G-Code. Any ideas on why it won't work for me? Are there other settings that I need to change?

      Together with the BL-touch I'm changing several other things like the flex couplings and the standard extruder will be replaced by by a 'bowden' extruder. Also the very poor quality of all the bearings is some thing I'm looking at . Any suggestions maybe?

    I purchased the vertex buildtak and the Anet a8 from gearbest. Does the tak go onto the hot bed? and if so do i put it on the stock one or should i wait till i get a new hotbed?

    • @Draxan198023
      @Draxan198023  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      imo the best way is to put it on piece of glass. You can move it around, glass its always flat etc.

    • @joshbukowski9397
      @joshbukowski9397 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it bad to put it on the bed though? The printer hasnt arrived yet and i have no experience in anything to do with 3D printing. But im just trying to learn as much as i can before it arrives

    • @Draxan198023
      @Draxan198023  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      if You are sure Your hot bed is flat after You warm it up to 100C its ok to put it on this. I prefer my on glass because I can swap printing surfaces, I can print on glass, Vertex, PEI sheet and just on the bed witha a tape if I really want to ;)

    Amazing job!!!
    I'm still waiting for my printer but i already saw this video like 10 times XD
    I have a lot of questions but for now im wondering if the Bowden (Right Handed) is a crucial part to invest in the beginning.
    I'm buying the mosfet for the bed i order the Vertex to, and i'm thinking if i buy or not the bowden can you give me your opinion ?
    Thank you

    • @Draxan198023
      @Draxan198023  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      imo bowden setup its not so user friendly, its a lot of problems with retraction setup.
      I think is better idea to buy 3DTouch sensor and try to setup Autolevel, its so so so much easier to print than without it.

      I ordered 445mm x 500mm x 5mm and I use this risers : www.thingiverse.com/thing:1814763 .
      But its better to build than enclosure first, think about how You want it to looks like and then order some Plexiglass.

    I purchased a wifi power switch exactly like yours before checking the specs on it and am now reading them. It says the max load is 10A, but I'm not sure how much my printer actually pulls. I'd like to hook mine up to the AC power cord leading into the PSU for total power control, but don't know if it can handle it. Do you know how many Amps the printer draws and, if not, how does your switch hold up if it is on the AC side of the PSU?

    • @Draxan198023
      @Draxan198023  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello! I recently got the Anet A8. I did one of my test prints and it came out really well. What would you recommend for me to get? I haven't done any modifications (3D printed or hardware wise). I would like to get the value out of what I purchase. I was thinking about printing out an improved fan duct (www.thingiverse.com/thing:2133328) and I was thinking of getting a mosfet (the one that you linked in the description). I also had some troubles with layer adhesion, but I believe that it is a lack of me correctly leveling the heated bed. I saw that you recommended a touch sensor in the description. Is it easy to use and easy to install? Thanks again for reading this, and hopefully you can provide some help! :)

    • @Draxan198023
      @Draxan198023  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi,
      Mosfet is really importand, You must to buy one (or two if You want) of them.
      New fan duct its a good idea too :) .
      For me 3DTouch sensor is best upgrade I done to my printer, I can swap print surfaces without any problem and I dont need to level my printer almost every day.
      Its a good idea to get glass and this Vertex print surface too, glas stays nice and flat all the time so it helps with a good prints too.

    I have seen heat sinks stuck to the motors on other videos on TH-cam a similar way to yours, this is not the right way to use heat sinks as the double sided tape you are using acts as an insulator and this is not what you want. You need to use thermal paste and some form of spring clip to keep it in place.

    • @Draxan198023
      @Draxan198023  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Stephen Cutajar I remove them from Z axis anyway :) . And they are on thermal pads , that's why they don't stick well
