Just bought my 2020 Street Glide Special last week and couldn't be happier. It's my third HD and it's perfect for cruising by myself or going on long rides throughout the country side with my wife. The adjustable rear shock works superb when increasing tension for passengers and you don't have to worry about bottoming out. Ride safe!

Man the fit and finish on the Specials is beautiful and fits my taste. I still went with an Chieftain though after test riding the hell outta both. The suspension, weight distribution, and stock features on the Indian did it for me. My point is ride/buy what works for you. Each offers different features, finish, and feel. My wife rides an Iron 883 and is in love. I’ve got love for Harley and Indian! Ride safe

I just bought a Standard. My Cross Bones (still have it too) is all blacked out. I didn't want the all black again. I wanted the upgraded radio and ABS though, that was a must for me. The 107 was a huge upgrade from the 96 I've been riding for the past 9 years. You can't go wrong with any of these bikes and I appreciate your time in creating these videos.

Harley Davidsons really are not "overpriced". They're actually extremely competitively priced in my opinion. After doing so much research over the past year on what back to bike, I came to the conclusion that the 2020 Low Rider S is the most fairly priced cruiser on the market. Everything you get with it is just so much more worth it...

Huge fan Matt! Because of you, I am planning to ride my '19 FLHSE to CA this year. As a kid my Pops and I would visit Glendale Harley almost weekly for an 'only if' kind of visit. Watching a video of yours where you started out in Glendale Harley, really hit home with me...thank you! I left LA in '83 for the Military and never really looked back. Well, 20 years of active duty service and I wound up making TX my home with no plans to ever go back to Cali. My second stop is going to be Laidlaw Harley for some gear and pictures! Aaron

Matt I am from New Zealand and you do the best coverage of all the modals, I think your comments about the haters are right on the nose. I currently own a 2013 Fatboy lo and would like a CVO Street Glide, your videos are great help and its a pity other dealers don't do what you do cause they all go to the new release shows of the new modals etc. I do travel a lot to your great country and will drop in and say "G'day Mate", and maybe purchase a second hand bike from you, which I could ship down under. Any way all the best great videos.

Thanks for the run down Matt. One thing I like about the Street and EG standard is the actually the regular bags. I'm going with one of the touring standards next bike and want to run a two into one pipe which I think would look silly with the stretched bags given the cutouts for dual mufflers. Throw on a choppy cam with the two into one and my guess is the 107 will produce similar power to a 114. I'd go all in with one of the ST models but they're just outta my budget.

people don't want a batwing fairing because they like it. They like all the stuff it contains, like stereo and NAV and what not. It's why I rented a Chieftain for a trip back in September and renting a streetglide for a trip coming up next month. So making it cheaper but without any of the features and benefits of a streetglide isn't going to produce sales. If I wanted none of that stuff, I'd buy a road king

The Indian Challenger already has all these parts installed for a lower price. By the time you buy a new Harley and then I add all this other stuff on there you're in the 40K or 50K.you can get this plus performance with the Challenger. that's actually better than a Harley.

Hey Matt, another great video as always, here are a couple of interesting facts. The SGS is Harley’s best selling bike to four different groups as of 2018; young riders as you mentioned, women, blacks and Latinos; all important markets for future growth. Needless to say, this is a very important bike in Harley’s lineup, will be interesting to see if there is a shift to the RG/RGS nationally like you’re seeing at your dealership.
Another interesting fact is that while sales are down, as you have pointed out in other videos, industry wide, not just Harley: Harley has seen a big increase in the used Harley market, which they hope will turn into future new sales.
All this does is prove that the Mo Co is far more informed than the haters think or our willing to admit and the changes they make are based on the vast majority and not the few that will complain no matter what changes they make.
Thanks, and keep including Andrew and Nick.

My choice of these would be the Electra Glide Standard. I don't want a radio or any of that infotainment stuff. Less is more for me. If I want to listen to the radio I will drive my car. I do prefer the black over the chrome, but it isn't worth $9000 when I don't want all the other stuff. I also like the slightly taller windshield. My question is does the EGS have a lowered or standard suspension?

Why does the SG special have more lean angle even though the Standard has a taller rear shock with 5.3 inches of ground clearance compared to the 4.9 on the special?

Great informative video Matt, thanks. Have a 2019 FLHC and love it but I'm doing a lot more highway riding on weekends with my 13yo son on the back and the wind (even with aftermarket windscreens and deflectors is not cutting it. Add to that the buffeting and it's fatiguing. Thinking of just biting the bullet and moving up to a SG or RG. Now the choice is SG vs. RG and Standard vs. Special. With the Special for 2021 you get the Daymaker, low profile air cleaner, and save $$ with the chrome. If I went with the Standard, I'd definitely add the headlight/air cleaner/radio upgrades.
Matt, you have the SG and you're a lot taller than me. I have the Shoei RF1200 and some guys on the HD forums confirm it's prone to more buffeting. Do you have a recommendation for a full-face or modular? Thanks!

I actually like the electra glide and glad they released it. For 2020 does abs just come with the bike as opposed to being optional on the 2019?

All the touring bikes come with ABS standard except the the Electra Glide Standard.

I totally agree with the “pricing” thing. People who buy Harleys recognize the luxury they are buying, the work of art that Harleys are, and the fact that they are iconic. The closest thing of a Honda really doesn’t compare. Same with Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and even Indian. With Harley, you have 10 color choices on 32 models. So, you have close to 320 options for different bikes all within a similar cruiser/bagger/tourer design. With the Yamaha, you get 3 designs and 3 colors to choose from on some, but not all. 6 options compared to 320. Then, there is the whole accessories thing where you make it your own. No contest. Harley’s are individual works of art in the hands of their owners. Almost never do you see the same thing out of any of the other brands. I will say I like the ‘19 CVO better than the ‘20. Thanks for the videos though. I enjoy all of ‘em.

Hi Matt, Thanks for all the content you provide. Not sure if you are willing or if anyone will answer this question, but I am getting ready to start my journey of buying my first Harley Davidson and am torn between the street glide standard and sport glide. I live in Michigan and would like know I’m not getting screwed when I go purchase either bike. What out the door pricing is considered a good deal on either bike? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would obviously buy from Laidlaw, but being in Michigan it doesn’t make much sense. I would have extra fees involved which I’m trying to avoid

Hey Matt can I get the zeper blue In the road glide standard. I'm not into the black out look of the special. Plus I really dont care for none of the color options for the standard.

what is your opinion on stage 4 upgrade to the 114 up to the new 131? Is it practical to do for both touring and fun or is the 114 good enough and money better spent on other things?

I know I'm in the minority, but for me I would personally buy the Electra-Glide standard (I prefer the smaller front wheel anyways) and upgrade to my personal preferences rather than buy a more expensive bike and then spend even more money to customize the bike to my tastes.

people want a radio but don't realize they can get a kit for a few hundred bucks. You can also buy an amp with built in bluetooth and some speakers for a couple hundred and save even more money.

In my own opinion the sgs is the choice. That cvo is someone elses likes on a bike. But if you start with the special you can customize it to make it your own.

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  4 ปีที่แล้ว

That’s true. I guess the CVo is for the guy who wants the best from the factory that doesn’t want to modify a bike
