Hey Guys, I wanted to correct something in my video that I was just made aware of. The Black triangular pieces at the bottom of the side covers that I said should have been paint-matched are actually removable covers. Underneath is the whole paint-matched side cover. So you can remove these black pieces to uncover that whole painted side cover! My Bad!
Thanks Matt, I think you're the first to find this out! I think they added black on the lower parts to make it more "performance" and less "showbike," looking, which some have criticized CVO's in the past.
I like the black better, those pieces painted in the body color would remind me of Honda Goldwing styling, just too much painted plastic in my oplnion.
Does the new SG feel any different to the old model re handle bars please because I had to change the bars on the ST. Standard ones were too uncomfortable.
For $40k everything should be perfect. Customer should be allowed to select the seat they like, the bars they like, the exhaust they like, etc. No money should have to be spent personalizing a $40k motorcycle. Just my two cents tho
@ZildjianMan30 They tried that about 10 years ago with Sportsters, then Street Bob. It didn't last and my guess is because there is so many aftermarket parts like seats, bars, pegs, grips, mirrors, shocks, aircleaners, pipes, windshields, crash bars, etc etc. I think you will agree there is no way a person who can afford a $45K bike will not change something to make it fit their style or proportions.
@@sportyonetaubert5923 I'm not talking about aftermarket. Aftermarket = not made by or sponsored by the OEM. They could do OEM only bike building on their website by allowing the purchaser to spec out OEM handlebars, lights, fairings, speakers, wheels, etc. Again, car & truck manufacturers have done this for a very long time. If anyone thinks that HD bikes have a huge parts aftermarket, it's vast when it comes to modding cars & trucks. Yet car & truck manufacturers still do custom specifications from the individual. Indian, Honda, and other motorcycle manufacturers allow custom built orders, to varying degrees of customization. I think HD should try again, particularly for parts that can be put on bikes at the factory right now.
For 43k we expect electronically adjustable suspension and radar cruise control to also be thrown in😂😂 but anyways some people don't lime the radar cruise control so maybe that's why they left it out but the suspension needs work
Got the 23 Road Glide CVO Yesterday! Amazing bike,Dark Platinum, beauiful, better than anything else I've had, and I've had a lot of bikes prior to this one
We’ll if the CVOS were selling for 43,000 they might be affordable. I’m Hearing that most of them are going for 50,000 and over. Good luck surviving those prices HD. I’ve been riding all my life, but with those prices looking at a nice sports car😂. How long will HD survive if they keep raising prices 20% every year?
Matt both my wife and I love your videos. She rides a 2023 RG3 and I just traded in my 2020 Street Glide stage 2 for a 2023 CVO Street Glide. You mentioned that you may be doing more videos on these CVO's. I would love to see them. We keep talking about coming to LA and meeting you. I served an LDS mission in LA many years ago. We now live in a small town east of Park City. We have some great riding up here including Mirror Lake Highway 150 and Wolf Creek. If you ever get a chance both rides would make great video's and I am sure that your cousin Daniel is familiar with these rides. Mt Nebo is another great one. Thank you for all your videos and the time you spend making them. I think my favorite is watching you and your beautiful wife coming out of the LA temple. Keep up the excellent work. Thanks again. The Street Glide looks way better IMHO. Hopefully the suspension trickles down to the ST or special portion of the lineup the CVO is cool, but I like the solo ST setup the most.
Excellent video, Matt. Your skills are stellar. Really like the history and detailed reviews. This is awesome!! Thanks!! I love the look of these and can't wait to see one in person. HD is doing some great stuff!!
Matt, This video was absolutely off the hook! Outstanding presentation. Detailed review Appropriate and interesting coordinated visuals. Just an all around great job picking up all the little details. Those are the things that can kill a bike because it might look nice if it frustrates you, overtime it kills your joy Great vid, Bro
Great review Matt. Saw the CVO RG yesterday at my local dealership. Styling on the headlight isn’t an immediate love affair. The bulbous unibrow look is definitely a departure from the dual headlights which we all came to love. Waiting for the fully configured Limited to make its appearance before making any final judgements. I do appreciate the leap forward the bike represents for Harley design and innovation.
I agree about the dual headlight. Im sure the aftermarket will jump on this. 3" of rear suspension travel is an improvement for sure. A little disappointed that they didn't go with a mono shock. Many will argue they keep this type of setup to justify the low look. Other manufacturers are using mono shock setup and getting 4" at the rear suspension with combined performance and from a comfort perspective. Still quite a difference
Excellent video Matt, thank you. Just want to point out a big improvement on these new fairings is not just the lighting it creates ahead of you but that the bikes are much more visible to oncoming traffic. One of the most common deadly accidents is cars & trucks turning left into the riders path claiming I didn’t see the bike coming. This new daylight visibility will hopefully dramatically reduce these types of accidents. Thank you HD to working on keeping us safe.
Anything that'll keep minivans from making U-Turns in front of us is a step in the right direction! Great point and kudos to HD for the increased visibility lighting in the fairings

You have capitalized on your position with excellent, informative, professional presentations that certainly propel the sport and industry further into the future. You ain't just riding la de da.. You represent well the spirit that has made your family such a success. Good to see!
I like the complicated process of push a button, flip up the door, and unscrew the gas cap procedure on my old Electra Glide, it makes it harder for the uninitiated to tamper with the gas without the inconvenience of a locking gas cap. I taught high school for three years, so you think about these things.
“Matt Laidlaw, starring the Million Dollar Bogan”! What fun! Have been waiting for this review since this bike came out. I’m impressed. Outside of getting a different seat and perhaps some handlebar ergos I’m changing nothing if I had this motor.
Kudos to Harley for the major upgrades to these flagship bikes I really like the new looks of the Road Glide over the previous ones will be nice when Harley offers these bikes in other than a cvo so they can be affordable for the average customers.
Well, Matt, I have never heard you speak so enthusiastically about a motorcycle. I reckon that everyone who has watched this video will be cashing in their shares and heading down to the local HD dealership. Good job! Now, I wonder how much I can get for the kids.

I always preferred the street glide but I do really like how the new CVO road glide looks. Ironically my wife prefers the road glide over the street glide starting from the 2015 year.
Yet another comprehensive overview, thank you Matt. The Road glide has a really clean looking bar and clamp arrangement now but I’m just not sure about the looks of the new headlight cluster etc. I would have probably already bought the Street Glide CVO but for the slightly underwhelming paint. Even the whisky neat seems a little safe, especially considering what they are charging for it. Just a note on the current Street Glide cubby. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and it fits in my Street Glide ST when connected to a low profile right angled USB cable with the plug end of the phone inserted first. If you take the hot dog bun out it’s even easier but then your phone is rolling around in there. The new slide out drawer arrangement looks much more convenient.

Love this channel, keep up the good work. Now that the 121 VVT engine has been out for a while, do you have any recommendations for headers/exhaust? I am thinking about getting a 2 into 1 exhaust but would like your recommendations.
Exhaust is going to perform very similar to previous versions of the M8 motor. I don’t have a big singing endorsement of any one exhaust that works the best. It’s actually a complicated question because it really depends on it you’re going to tune it or not. Stick to the SE tuner for warranty purposes. Hopefully you live outside CA so you can actually buy one. S&S stuff is ways good. 👍🏼
Great historical opening! I'd date the beginning of the modern Harley-Davidson grand touring motorcycle to the windscreen and saddlebag equipped 1936 "61 OHV" Knucklehead and then the 1949 "Hydra-Glide" Panhead! 😅
Gettin' so much closer to my Goldwing !!! Add a dual clutch transmission, blind spot monitoring, with radar cruise and an airbag and I'll be back on a HD
Loving mine so far. Definitely wish the OS was faster to boot up. Also the bag hinges dont feel very sturdy especially when you have the upgraded speakers.
Hey Matt, Thanks again for another great review. I love the high quality video footage as well, compliments! I have a question you might have an answer to: what cam comes on this CVO model? (Stage 1 or 2)? Will it be the same cam upgrade procedure now with the VVT on the engine? I ask as I'm assuming there's quite a bit of flex to upgrade the performance with this better cooled 121 with VVT and the other improvements 🙂. Thanks and I look forward to your next video's, Maarten
Good question. I don't know if I have an exact answer that you're looking for but the cam is completely new so it isn't a stage (X) cam. Any stock cam isn't considered a stage cam. This new stock cam has a higher lift and duration when compared to the 114 M8 cams. I don't know what a stage 2-3 cam will look like in the future if/when H-D comes out with one. I assume they will. It will probably shift the power around and favor torque or HP.
You’re asking if the new street glide feels any different than the old street glide? I honestly have to test it more to give a really confident answer. It does feel like the new fairing has less buffeting. I could use a taller windshield though.
Variable Valve timing isn’t an upgrade. HD has rightfully held out on implementing VVT. While it does provide increased efficiency and power, the complexity will affect reliability. Simulating EGR flow with valve overlap certainly helps with combustion temps, but how often are HD consumers asking for the most efficient bikes?
First time I ever liked the Road Glide. I would still buy the street glide over the RG but wouldn't be unhappy with the RG. Also first time I would consider trading my 2015flhxse🫣 and that's a big statement for me, I absolutely love my 2015flhxse in every way... the new CVOS are next level 🫡 Great job Harley Davidson 👏 thanks for the excellent video Matt Laidlaw 👍
Great video Matt, Sorry you had to hang out with that Bogan character in SD! Quick question, any idea if they will be releasing another CVO this spring???
I think HD did a good job on the new versions of the SG and RG. Whereas on the Rev Maxes they really hit the build quality, it looks top notch as is expected from HD. I prefered the SG before, but on the new version I actually like them both equally much. I would struggle which one to pick.

Thank you for sharing. Happy Selling Matt. I bet you don’t like the Silver or Orange and you’ll grab a ‘24: Let’s hope a White with Black.
Loving mine so far. Definitely wish the OS was faster to boot up. Also the bag hinges dont feel very sturdy especially when you have the upgraded speakers.
Sick!!! Matt, can you made a video of the new Police road glide?
Yes! As soon as I get one!
Thanks Matt! Let’s wait and see :-)
Can we PLEASE get a night ride video with high and low beam shots? I for one would greatly appreciate it.
Best review Matt. Are you able to comment if the SG feels any different sitting in the bike with the same handlebars please?
You’re asking if the new street glide feels any different than the old street glide? I honestly have to test it more to give a really confident answer. It does feel like the new fairing has less buffeting. I could use a taller windshield though.
I’ll be sorry to see Storm Glide go. Really nice vlog 👍. Meeting Stefan in Faak in two weeks and hope to see the new bike there.
Stefan should be able to make it happen. Thanks for watching.
Built on August 9th, now it's up to the shipping guys...
What riding jacket are you wearing. I love it
Variable Valve timing isn’t an upgrade. HD has rightfully held out on implementing VVT. While it does provide increased efficiency and power, the complexity will affect reliability. Simulating EGR flow with valve overlap certainly helps with combustion temps, but how often are HD consumers asking for the most efficient bikes?
I've got the 131 in my 21 Limited....Not rushing down to trade it in
Excellent content once again Matt. I want one, Fran
The 2015 CVO street glide is a nice bike. Thanks for the comment 👍🏼
Great video Matt, Sorry you had to hang out with that Bogan character in SD! Quick question, any idea if they will be releasing another CVO this spring???
Haha. Yea he was a real pain in the ass. 🤣. Na, he’s a good dude.
I think HD did a good job on the new versions of the SG and RG. Whereas on the Rev Maxes they really hit the build quality, it looks top notch as is expected from HD. I prefered the SG before, but on the new version I actually like them both equally much. I would struggle which one to pick.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment
@@MattLaidlaw Pleasure. Looking forward to your Sturgis video. By the way, I’ll be in LA for 2-3 months over the winter months. I’ll make sure to pop over and say hi.
Really beautiful motorcycle a lot of changes just have to get used to the new look Great video Matt thank you
I love where Harley bikes are headed.
Thanks Matt! I want one! Road Glide CVO in Whiskey Neat. Let me know when I can pick it up!!!
