Thanks for the info on Blackthorn Publishing. Years ago I picked up their 3-D and How-To Draw Transformers and G.I. Joe comics, and kind of wondered how they could publish them the same time the properties were still at Marvel.

In every close up shot they did of rainbows face with his mouth open all I could imagine was random Sylvester Stallone like noises coming from his mouth... very much like the robot Chicken sketch where they make fun of him making birdhouses
What are 3D comics? Don't think I ever heard of them. I'm assuming it's regular comic that are printed in a way so the the image pop out with special glasses (like 3D movie)? Is that it ?

Apparently David Morell (author of the novel of First Blood and the novelization of Rambo: First Blood Part II) was approached by various entities to make licensed products around the time of Rambo: First Blood Part II release. Since the financial incentive was too good to refuse, Morell signed the contract and Rambo got a cartoon and a toy line among many other things.

I love Rambo but the cartoon was garbage the only saving grace was it used the Jerry Goldsmith score peppered throughout the show.
