    I love it!!! Y’all know I am ALL for reuse/repurpose/recycle... that is how we do 90% of things here on the homestead. Love your creativity with the paint and bougie “extras”!!! You both brought some cool elements to this project and you definitely should be proud! This gave me some ideas for my future quail house using the old camper! Thanks for sharing guys!

      Not sure I would use pallets again, we mainly built out of pallets because of the price of wood at the time. If you are going to build one at some point use normal building construction.

    I love your Quail setup. When you built your brooder boxes, did you by any chance do a video of building them? I plan to build a couple like them as soon as I can. That was a really clever idea to build your Quail barn like that too.

    • @WhiskeyTangoFarms
      @WhiskeyTangoFarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We did not do a video on the brooder boxes. I tried to record something but it didn’t turn out. I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about it and how to build one.

    oh my goodness! I love your little barn. This is exactly what I have been thinking about. Can you explain your cage setups? What type of shelf systems? Their cages look like crates? I am a newbie to quail. I've watched lots of videos, but I don't have much money, so this is right up my alley.

    You spent more on those plastic cages then the building looks like. For $300 in materials you can build a tone of nice cages. I like 6 birds to a unit 24x12 inches. No 2 males in the same unit. I do like the little barn. You can have it locked up tight to keep the birds and rodents separate and regulate the temperature in the seasons.

    • @WhiskeyTangoFarms
      @WhiskeyTangoFarms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Getting the plastic cages at the time was the best option we had. Using wood for cages we have found is something that doesn't work for us so that is in part why we went the route we did at the time we now will be only using wynola ranch cages from now on.

    Love seeing the hatching time cages in your quail barn! We just pulled the trigger on a 5 level yesterday and I can’t wait for it to arrive and to fill it with quail! Do you have any tips on cleaning them? Love all the tips you shared already!

    • @WhiskeyTangoFarms
      @WhiskeyTangoFarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We pressure wash them every few months. They take a little bit to clean up but they can look like new if you spend enough time on them.

    • @everydayoilmommies5091
      @everydayoilmommies5091 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We don’t see snow here in the Sacramento Valley of California often. Maybe once every 20 years, it’s not enough to stick, and in hours it’s gone.
