I think Sunil Gavaskar was the first test match batsman to use moulded high density foam cricket pads. These were significantly lighter than conventional pads to wear and, therefore, less tiring to run with and easier to run quickly with between the wickets.
Test will be remembered for gritty centuries by Gundappa Vishwanath and Dilip Vengsarkar down under, for the knowledge,I will like to explain that Vengsarkar also became third Indian batsman after Sunil Gavaskar and G R Vishwanath to score 0 and a century in the same test
Interesting how attacking the fields were compared to modern test cricket..The frontline seamers bowled with just one guy protecting the single in the covers on the offside ,no mid off...Also they use a square leg instead of a midwicket as modern test sides do. Perhaps the focus was bowling a 4th stump channel

They used to say that the ball melted into Taylor's gloves. Now I see that it's true!

Zee sports Thx
Shame. Classic matches ruined by replay intro-outro SFX that are far too loud compared to the rest of the audio.
it's a shame Ian Botham is banned in India.
