I would request you to post the first One day win against West Indies in West Indies. This was just before 1983 world cup. Kapil scored 70 and Gavaskar scored 90.
I was a big admirer of radio commentary by Vijay Merchant.His anecdotes and English greatly attracted me..There was no TV then.

Yes, I first met him(CD)&Prof.MV Chandgadkar also when I first played my first south-zone schools match at Chepauk in 1970.I was 16 then. Both these gentlemen gave me a standing ovation when I got out -oh not for scoring a big score-but for I stayed on the wicket for more than 2 hrs. scoring just 9 runs!! Later,I met CD again in 2001 during AUS-IND Chennai Test.-Love.

None significant till the arrival of Kapil Dev in 1978.
@@JaiGalagali to some extent Abid Ali sir was our main fast bowler and even good batsman.. man who hit winning run as well in 1971 victory in England.
