have the exact same 335, finish and all (factory stamped in 1997). I remember at the time it being difficult deciding on this or a Les Paul, and it took quite a few hrs. of playing both in shop on different amps to decide. Glad i stuck with the 335
I don't think there is much of a tone difference between the two to lust after either one. I'm more of a synth guy anyway.I got what looks like an under-the-bed-stored '89 Les Paul standard with the Lawrence pups and it is a tone and quality far better than my playing justifies. It's got an unremarkable plain three-piece top that has some slight figuring and things that make it unique to that instrument, but is nothing to write home about....but it's MINE. @@rodnyg7952
I have both a 2000 ES 335 and a 1993 Les Paul Studio with the legendary ebony fretboard. Both are fantastic guitars but I play the 335 almost exclusively.
Thanks for the comment! I’m really glad you want to listen to my live show. But it looks like Maryland is a bit far from Japan. 😅 I’m hoping I can do a live stream someday!
Thanks for your comment! I wasn't even born yet in 1967! It's a nice once-in-a-lifetime purchase to be able to buy a 335 from the 60's for $400 and still play it.
Still listening in 2024! Well done!
It's Christmas... and I'm alone listening to jazz... I like it.
And it’s, of course, a delicious moment.
What else do we need?

I went with LP Standard and still want a 335.
@@Rhythmicons sure, I also sometimes question not getting the LP instead. I've mostly been playing a Strat std. for the past 10yrs anyway

Bro, this is the goods! You wouldn’t happen to play in Maryland, would you? If so, I’d love to hear a live set or four. If not… Well, my loss. 😊

Lovely playing man 10/10
Very very nice ! 👍
Magic 🤩
Great playing
You sound so good.
Beautiful playing and TONE - if heavier gauge strings make it sound that much better, I'm giving them a try!
Muito bonito! Abraços do Brasil
Obrigado pelo comentário do berço da Bossa Nova! Estou muito feliz.
Beautiful playing. I have exactly the same guitar. There is nothing to match a real 335.
Supersound …..we is the Level from Volumen and Tone? Please Gisela me anser.
String gauges? flat or wound? What are you playing it through/settings?? Thanks. Sounds great !!
Thanks for the comment!
I use D'Addario Jazz light guage round wound (12-52) strings. The amp is a Fender Twin Reverb amp simulator from HX Stomp.
Lovely, thank you. Flat wound strings?

neck pickup with a bit of volume rolled off and tone control 50 or 60 percent rolled off.

Looks gloss to me.

Really nice warm sound. Thank you! Did you turn down the tone knob a bit as well?
@@emelssen5580 Thank you very much! I have the tone knob on both the guitar and the amp turned down a little more than the middle.
Sounds good, what’s your amp ?
Thank you for your comment!
I use HX STOMP's US Double Nrm (≒ Fender Twin Reverb).
What type of 335 is this
Thanks for the comment!
This 335 was made in 1999.
What pick up do you have?
Thanks for your comment! I'm using the pickups that came with my guitar and I don't have any other pickups.
@@ma-qv4bq they're standard '57 Classic Gibson humbuckers
Isn't this bossa Nova though?
You are absolutely right!
I only write "jazz standard" because we do it a lot in jazz sessions!

The trick is learning to play the melody line on top of chords at the same time !!!
