A 335 in a walnut finish has always been my dream. I still remember the first time when I played a 335 (might have been a 345 or a 355 - I was still very young), that one was a walnut finished example and it blew me away. A couple of years later I worked hard to buy me a beautiful black ES-347. I can’t think of a better guitar than that one. But this would be a great guitar to switch things up a little every now and then. 🧡🧡🧡
I have a 67 335 with Block Inlays and Trapeze tailpiece. Sounds amazing. I also have a 72 ES 340. Both are just fantastic guitars. I did have the 340 re-wired to 335 control layout by Chris Lovell (String & Things and St. Blues founder). I love its neck. So many times there is some religion of purity for 50s and early 60s specs. I am sure they are great, but because they were different don't mean post 65 Gibsons were crap. I have a 78 LP Custom Black Beauty and an 80 LP Custom Tobacco Sunburst. Both of these have 3 piece maple necks. They sound fantastic. The 340 has a 5 piece maple/walnut neck. MWMWM. Sounds absolutely great. I like the late 60s/early 70s block inlay. It was an upgrade from the plain dots.
Super solid guitar with that block reinforcement. Would be interesting to play next to my epiphone. Hollow body guitars have that unique blazed sound, to super clean, love it!
At 1st I saw GC 335 vid and thought hmmm, that's a big Ho Hum, but then saw that Molly was hosting and was like 'YES' Ms Miller is such a great plunker and the fact that she's FINE don't hurt neither (!)
Repeated many times "60s neck", the neck on this guitar is Rounded C. Usually 60s neck is refered as slim taper, which this guitar is not. The only 60s stuff here are the block inlays and maybe a bit of the look.
had one of the originals ... great instrument, but better tone with dot neck, than this reissue. Block inlay came during Beatles' era, I think, best Gibson ever built in my humble novice opine
If the nut width isn't narrower, it doesn't count... Spoiler: nut width is same as every other es-335 in current production. it's a shame they don't actualy make a narrow nut es-335 anymore like they did in the 60s and 70s...
I’m a huge fan of the 335 but for me it’s just way too over priced. I play by sound and feel and you can get a very nice sounding strat or tele for $2500. Sometimes the best is not always the best. Everybody can’t afford a fararri!
Cherry was a common 335 color in the late 60s along with sunburst. Gibson didn't make a blonde 335 after 65 I don't believe unless it was a custom order. That is one reason I like my '72 ES 340. Blonde with yellowed binding and gorgeous.
@rm0876 yes and no.. 69 was the last year Gibson was Gibson as in Dec of 69 they were acquired by the company which would later become Norlin Musical Instruments
@rm0876 Gibson only made 909 ES-335's in total between 1958-59. You point out the most desirable year... 😆 We all know 1958-1969 were the "best years"... You're not going to gig a vintage, it's going to stay in the saftey of your home if it's not a run down players grade guitar. 2014-current ES-335's are excellent builds.

@guitarcenter What neck shape is on this 335 model?
Gibson and Epiphone WON'T let me look at their web sites , because I won't accept their cookies . How arrogant can you get !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really nice, especially the pelham blue…

More demos by Molly please - love her playing, and the description of what she's feeling and hearing and tweaking the tone for.
molly's the best!
Excellent demo! 9:55 mins long and got the sounds and versatility across in such a well paced, thorough way!
Dr. Molly Miller is awesome !!!!
Very impressive player...and person.

Wow! That's some tasty playing. She does a great demo.

Great demo. Nice guitar. Love the playing!

Great demo, great player!
Molly truly makes it jam w/ fffflare!
Great player, great cleans, distor = 🐝
I've literally never heard of a PhD in guitar but that is awesome and the doctor knows her guitar!
Molly I love your guitar playing I got you in ITunes now ❤
The Dr is a cool lady !

The description for these on the site says it is a SlimTaper neck; maybe the info is wrong, but they’re definitely promoting it that way.
@@dcprice17 Their link posted says Rounded C. Gibson says Rounded C also.
Where does Gibson say this? I haven’t even been able to find this guitar on their own site
Molly ripping it up!!!!! 😊 Noel Gallagher from Oasis ( in the 90's played one too ) and Epiphone.
Noel Gallagher can't play like this lady.
The lady can play.
What’s the difference between these and the 335 dot necks ?
neck and i believe pick ups..but these have a smaller thinner neck
Also let’s not forget she is using an amp worth over a $1,000 so of course it’s going to sound great
Molly Miller 🥰🥰🥰
Is this a guitar centre exclusive guitar?

What pickups are in these ?
Humbuckers.
The good Doc is now all growed up....Guitar Center/Gibson spokesperson... Next...Sweetwater/Fender CS?

Red Gibson ES-335? Never seen before!
they make them..u just have to look!!!

WHAAAAAT?
Molly.
Waaaaaassaay. Overpriced .no thank you.
That is your opinion. BTW Epiphone makes several ES-335 models that are less expensive.
She seems to prefer telecasters, strats over gibsons. Just saying.
She has a black 335 she plays often
1978 was a shit year for Gibson... 3 piece maple necks instead of mahogany...
Yeah, '59 was the last good year. 🤣 They should have retire after that...

@drewgraysonxoxopanda not even the same animal... your comparing apples to oranges...
Fact: Many Norlin era Gibsons are excellent guitars. 😊
some of the worst playing ever recorded.
