As someone who has played as Granada, and later Andalusia, it can be exceedingly fun. Fun in the sense that you have a grand total of -9 unrest if you take humanist ideas, and if you flip to a republic, OVER POWERED!!!

Marco Antonio played as Granada. He went to the americas and started a colony. Eventually he regained his original land and more. He also did a series as ryuko and I think he got the 3 little mountains achievement.

For what I have seen allies gave money to the germans to reconstruct because they didn´t want another war like how the germans were treated after WW1 (having to repair all damages) in which they entered poverty. And that the UN was a thing after WW2.
Victor Conway The nonsense you are spitting out here is unbelieveable. "Germany lost only a few slivers of land." Germany had to give up all of eastern Germany (no, the DDR-Land is not eastern Germany), which was inhabited by Germans, almost only by Germans. They got kicked out, murdered and raped. Even more Germans died on the way west. A bloodshed, you say? Germans are peacefull, they always were, while imperialists like France and England conquered half the globe. Then, in the Great War Germany was attacked by Russia and France. The conflict in the Balkans was none of their business and yet, they attacked Germany and Austria-Hungary. Germany would have never started such a war, because of their nature, the strengh of the potential enemies and most importantly: They had no reason. Sure, they wanted colonies, but they would never have started a war over this. France wanted Elsass-Lothringen "back", which was mostly German, Britain had serious trade issues, because Germany was a really strong trade power, and Russia was the "Slav-Police", as they thought of themselves (excuse for imperialism). With the treaty of Versailles, Germany good screwed really really bad. The people suffered, rightfull land was taken away, they were humiliated and they were not allowed to unite with Austria. No wonder Germany became a monster. It's the fault of the allies, which means that they are responsible for World War II. Not only were they responsible, but also they declared the war, after Germany's ultimatum to Poland was rejected. When you turn a piecefull nation into a fascist beast, that is what should be expected. Also, the allies were interested in another war against Germany, weakening it further, killing of all of the German patriotism, even though they were not responsible for any of the two World Wars. The time after WWII was not filled by the grace of the allies. They took more land, occupied Germany, Germans rebuilt Germany themselves, all of the German gold was taken, even more reperations had to be paid by Germany and all the money they recieved from America, England etc. were loans. And they got the money for these loans from stealing all kinds of things from Germany. And Germany didn't only loose all of eastern Germany, even Austria got "free" again and they were told and taught, that they aren't Germans.
So:
The Allies are responsible for WWI.
The Allies screwed Germany in the treaty of Versailles/made Germany fascist.
The Allies are responsible for WWII.
The Allies took tons of rightfull German lands from Germany/devided the country.
The Allies destroyed German national proud and culture.
Reperations should be payed back (of course slowly, because we don't want Britain and so on to get screwed as well). Also the Borders of Imperial Germany (of course without the colonies) should be restored, plus all German lands from the Austro-Hungaryan empire (possibly Luxemburg and German Switzerland too, but that is for another disgussion) and the allies have to admit, that the wars were their fault. They must not fall in such deep self-hate as Germany, but be proud of the great things they archieved. That would be unrealistic, but the most just outcome.
Well, Sir. Thank you for the insults. Now lets get back to the argument. Yes, WWI had a big relevance by the dawn of WWII. The reperations were not payed, Hitler simply stopped, because the reperations were just redicolous. The Allies took everything they could get. Submarines, wood, coal, tons and tons of money and many more things. You don't forget so big suffering after 6 years. Humiliation lasts for life, if not longer. The Germans were angry, all of them. Land was taken, many Germans found themselves in Poland, France etc. all of the sudden. The Germans should be the ones whos fault this war was. The treaty was straight up dumb, idiotic, stupid... I could go on and on, but I'll leave that part to you since you are better at insulting. France and Belgium didn't just sit on their new territories and said "Yeah, that's nice." No. They straight up marches right into the Rhineland and occupied it for a few years. Because of her limited military strengh Germany wasn't able to defend herself. The French and Belgians took everything they could use directly this time, because Germany wasn't able to pay the reperations. The workers in the Rhineland, who refused to work just got shot. The Anschlussverbot was equally as dumb. Austria was not allowed to unite with Germany. A country with almost everyone living there being German. The War is only Germanys fault? No. Rule broken. The treaty of Versailles was not a peace treaty, it made Germany the dog of the Allies, that they could kick around all they want. Of course it's good to break this damn thing. "Expansion" of the Third Reich was mostly justified. Austria? Germans. Sudetenland? Germans. The rest of Bohemia-Moravia? Mostly Czech and a few Germans: Should have only taken the German enclaves left and let the Czechs keep the rest. Ultimatum to Poland: Danzig and Westprussia? Germans. Memel? Germans. This "expansion" should have been accepted happily by the Allies, because you know, International Public Law. Of course without most of the rest of Bohemia-Moravia.
Yes, Russia: The Slavic Police. This should have been none of Russias business at all. That Serbian guy shot the Austro-Hungaryan heir. Of course had Serbia something to do with that. They supported the assassination, because they wanted Austria-Hungary to collapse. The conflict should have been navigated through only by AH and Serbia. Even if a war breaks out. Nether Germanys, nor Russias business. But because Russia was the self-declared Slav-Police, they jumped in on Serbias side and brought France with her. Now it became Germanys business. They were now in a defensive position against Russia and France. Russia attacked first and stormed Eastprussia. Real culprits: Serbia, for starting the whole thing and Russia, for making it into a European thing. Germany had no interest in the war. The UK and France had. They didn't want to crush Germanys economy, because they had lost so many soldiers, but because they wanted to from the beginning. Germanys trade became stronger with every year. Also France wanted German land. Germany had no claims to start such a war. Colonies would have been a possible reason, but the German fleet was to small to protect the already existing colonies. And they wouldn't start a war for it. If Germany would have screwed over France and Britain so hard as they screwed over Germany it would have been more justified (and not because Germany is super cool and better, but because they were the defenders) but still very very wrong and I would want that Germany payed back most of the reperations and gave back all of the new gained unrightfull land.
About Germany being peaceful. Yes it was. Most wars Germans fought were against other Germans (not very proud of it). Only a few years BEFORE they united they declared these wars. Austrians? Germans, that didn't unite with the other Germans, because the Habsburgs had much territory outside of Germany, mostly gained through inheriting thrones and not through war. Denmark? They held German lands. Schleswig. France? They held German land too. Elsass-Lothringen. They did not take land because they could, but because in these lands lived mostly Germans, and not through migration. The military, you probably mean Prussia with that. Yes, you are right. The military was very important for Prussia and can be counted as a important part of their culture, but not half of it. And it was about Quality, not Quantity. Soldiers got payed fairly well, compared to other Soldiers. You would be able to survive easier, fighting for Prussia. There were also other militarist nations. France amd Russia. They went for Quantity. Lévee en masse (hope I spelled that right) and the Russians who just throwed pure manpower out there. Their soldiers didn't get payed as good as the Prussian ones. And there is one very important thing. There is a big difference between militarism and imperialism. Prussia was only militarist, but not imperialist (and also very tolerant, thanks to Fritz). France and Russia, especially France were imperialist powers.
WWII. I know how military alliances work. When somebody declares war on someone else and that someone has allies, they will help. But it wasn't like this. Poland didn't accept the ultimatum. War broke out. Days later France and England decided to join in. But they didn't help Poland. They ditched Poland like Churchill got ditched by his parents. Also Poland held German lands like Upper Silisia, which Germany didn't even want back in the ultimatum, Posen and Westprussia. (By the way: Upper Silisia wasn't even granted to Poland in the treaty of Versailles. They attacked Germany between the wars and simply took it. Poland, one of the biggest agressors in between the wars, they also held Lithuanian, Ukrainian and Belorussian land and took a part of Moravia later on.) The Allies declaring war on Italy would have been a different situation, because it wouldn't be justified and Germany is right next door and not as bad of and ally. Well, maybe they would have been a bad ally by joining the war on Frances and Englands side, becourse of South Tirol. But that would be a dumb move. And of course was Germany agressive. They were fascists after all. But that was because of the Treaty of Versailles and with that, the fault of the Allies.
The USA wanted nothing to do with Europe? Like they did in WWI? "But Germany sunk American convoys, they didn't attack." Well, what was on those ships? Plushies for the children who lost their fathers. Probably not. More like guns for the childrens fathers. The US supported the Allies in the first and in the second war. That is not quite neutral, if you ask me. The attack against the Soviet was an imperialist act from Germany, because they were fascist.
Yes, Lebensraum and all that stuff. Wrong. Not a justified agression from Germanys side, buuuut, shurplise: Fascism. Also the Russians ruled over the other Slavic peoples like idiots as well. Millions of people died of starvation and were executed, more than in the holocaust.
Getting defeated twice doesn't lead to losing all your national pride. It is called brainwashing. And no, besides the Commies in Germany, noone welcomed it. They knew what plans the Allies had if they defeated the Germans. You know about the Volkssturm, right? They volunteered as I would have. And about the POWs? Germans treated their POWs way better than the Soviets, as you can look up on personal experiences. At least that was what I read. From Germans and Russians.
Third Reich propaganda didn't fool me. I did my research. History is my hobby. And I am not a Nazi. In fact, I find it really sad, that something like this happened. Many German Jews were killed in the holocaust. Men who fought brave for their country in WWI. (Of course I'm not happy about the many others that got killed in the Concentration camps.) But let us not forget the many Germans that got killed before, through and after WWII by Czechs, Poles, French, British, Russians.... Millions of German civilians were brutally murdered.

Dovska, this is one of the craziest eu4 campaigns I have ever seen, and I mean mental, I have no idea how this ended up happening, I often find crazy campaigns normally happen when the big boys like Austria, France and Hungary this kind of crap usually happens. Really gj btw

From 2:50 to 8:51 Spain had almost exactly the same amount of territory in France as in the Roman Empire Restoration timelapse where Dovska detailed his Byzantium-Spain War.
