What’s funny is that the Soissons almost did survive. They initially defeated the Franks until the reigning king of the tribe died and Clovis took power to crush the Soissonic general.
Soissons were basically gaelic romans
Soissons apparently had a pretty strong army (details aren’t known sadly), to the point where it outmatched even the Western Roman Empire in the latter’s late stags.
What is even more funny is that, according to Eduard Pognon, the Roman aristocracy in Gaul took Frankish-sounding names to appease the new ruling dynasty, but remained the overwhelming majority and integrated in the army and administration of the new Kingdom.
For what we know, Charlemagne might have had more Roman ancestry than Frankish.

Tuscany was 1 province away from forming italy lol
@islam aydoğmuş but happy Roman noises
Das gotta hurt
"Ooooh, Tuscany is doing so well, I'm so proud of... aaaaand they're done."
Cant believe this got this many likes lol, thanks guys
Why "lol"?
Should've released Byzantium and reclaimed the east too
That’d be a cool coop game actually. The Soissons and Byzantium coordinating to reclaim their respective halves of the empire and then PU into rejoining their halves into the full Roman Empire
That's what would've likely happened had he continued the scenario and once the old Roman Empire was restored, go on to conquer Germany and the remainder of Europe along with the rest of the Middle East.
I was thinking that idea too
Here's to 2 more years!
Banishing the English to Scotland. Worst fate for an Englishman
Worse fate for the Scotsman
@@Alex-vy6yy No, the englishmen will be bending over to pick up the soap .
wouldn't a banishment to France be worse?
@@TheMAXIFOD not really since Scotland is a bad place to live because of the terrain. theres a reason why Rome didnt want to expand further North
@@ernestogastelum9123 if terrain is the argument, then norway, Russia or Canada would be worse.
And the romans main reason for not expanding further was they didn't think the bother was worth it, same reason they didn't do Germany and the pontic steps

This is honestly quite the good idea for a mod...maybe giving Soisson actual National Ideas and it's own mission tree along with its own exclusive decisions, heck even it's own unit models could make for a cool mod.
Maybe the Western Roman Empire and Soisson could share it between them.
There’s extended timeline which has start dates ranging from 2-9999 you could theoretically form Bactria as the Indo-Greeks and reclaim Alexander’s Empire, but Soissons does exist in that mod, it has Roman ideas and culture though, however, it’s much larger, and therefore should have an easier time defending against the Franks who, once conquering Soissons, become French, which I hate but whatever, they can also reform the Western Roman Empire in the game
*Pax Romana Intensifies*
This is cool and all, but it ain’t no Holy Oriental Empire

Hmmm, because of the fall of Nova Roma(or would you guys like to call it "Constantinopolis"?), I suppose this "West Rome" should be officially acknowledged as "Imperium Romanum"(which means it should be able for a Roman Country to form the classical Roman Empire, instead of the western or eastern half of it, when the ERE not anymore exists), and the Ruler shall be the legal successor of the Basileus Konstantinos XI Palaiologos of Basileia Rhomaion, as "Imperator Flavius Statius I Syagrius Augustus"(I suppose those Romans from Regnum Suessionum should speak Latin as their official language, but I have to say that "Statius" is not a cool name or praenomen for Imperator, try the name "Augustinus" or "Valentinus" next time)
##but come to think about it, "Statius" was actually a regular roman praenomen, although some Romans like Germanicus Iulius Caesar, the father of "Gaius Iulius Caesar Germanicus Augustus"(some people call him "Caligula") did use some cognomen as their praenomen.......
Tertius Flavius Sinaricus italian lol
Tertius Flavius Sinaricus sounds more appropriate for CK2. Interesting though.
@@tomh4754 Why are you like this?
@@tomh4754 I agree with @BirbSeesAll. Why are you like this?
@@tomh4754 okay? Who the fuck cares, cringyness is relative, you definitely do care apparently (seeing how you decided to comment), but just let them be, you could just scroll past, but no, you just had to insult them. Do you really hate Romaboos enough to take a few seconds of your day, just to insult them? Do you really have so little to do? Well I personally think your comment was way more cringe than his, but that’s just me. (And I know you don’t care about my opinion, but I am still putting it here)
west rome should be formable nation
Yea
wouldn't byzantium have to exist though to make any sense?
@Sari Çizmeli Mehmet Ağa Or they are claiming so
Shine banana if you play Extended Timeline, you can form it
@Sari Çizmeli Mehmet Ağa only a christian nation can be called a Roman descendant. Konstantinople after 1453 became Istanbul, because it was no longer christian.
It doesn't matter that until Atatürk It was not called Istanbul, because it had no connection to its Roman roots whatsoever
You should use the remaining years to launch a grand invasion of the Ottoman Empire and restore the Mare nostrum ^^ anyway, it is not that stupid, the age of colonisation is supposed to arrive soon
I thought u can't get achievement like Mare Nostrum, i men forming a countey or claiming a nation's old borders like Mongolia.
Maybe you could do a video where you examine the scenario of what if the Anglo-Saxons, instead of being totally conquered after the battle of Hastings, instead escaped into Scotland and Conquered it, making s Saxon Scotland who could try and reconquer England.
cool
Knowing him, it’d probably be too easy
18:05 Ah yes, Austria has embraced its inner Bavaria.
Would be cool to see culture and religion map modes at the end too, did you spread Roman culture?
Good work on recreating the Western Roman Empire but in your place, I'd have been constantly waging war on the Ottomans to at least retake the remainder of the Balkans while taking over the rest of North Africa. If there was any time left, I'd retake Asia Minor along with the Holy Land to fully restore the old Roman Empire with its capital in Rome. If there wasn't any time limit, I'd then focus on taking Germany and Poland along with Arabia and Iraq.

Hey Dovska, can you please make a timelapse with an African empire or atleast with an African colonizer .But not Ethiopia, it has been done by many others .Something pagan or Islamic .
I really love your videos and i had been among the first 400 subscribers .I have watched all your videos since the third or second .
You are doing good work man .Keep it up and the best of luck from me man .
Austria really went full Bordergore in this
Soissons feels and looks like the medieval version of Belgium, doesn't it?
your videos are realy great !
Awesome video ! I always dreamed about a eu4 video On the Realm of Syagrius ^^.
Dude can you please tell us where did you find the flag you added and Will you one Day make a tutoriel for adding formable nations like you did for custom flag ?
I think he did a video on how to make custom flags a while back.
Jose Pedro da Silva That's what I said --'
Utopian Mappeur Oh sorry I misread :|
Utopian Mappeur custom nations is an expansion, i think its included in el dorado but idk about that
i asked about it a few times. could you try a random new world empire. then we can see some more unique playstyles or conqer storys
This is so high quality I can't even
No other map mode's?
Flanders:hey diddly doe there neighbor
Rome:doe!
Maybe in another time laps, you can restore Celtic culture to the British Isles and beyond?
Wish I could see the culture map mode.
Every time a timelapse of someone trying to form rome start with the same music

There was actually a last roman general that fighted with the Barbarian, and almost rescued Rome
But he was killed before that, by Ana "accident"
What would happen if he would succed?
Well, maybe reestablish the Roman Empire and give them a Little more Time of living
>Ming only conquered like 20 provinces
Status quō achieved
You should do atlantis (conquer the whole atlantic coast)
You should change the dynasty name to syagrii, because that’s how Latin names work, the suffix “i” means of, specifically of the stem.
when will the AAR for the EU4 part of your oriental empire come out
2 years??? ALREADY?!?!
Y-Yeah, Babylon next pls
How did you form the new tag?
instead of allying with Flanders you could have sent them Condottieri free of charge. Then you could have invaded them directly afterwards
After Tuscany ate Roma, was that the Pope in Mainz?
Yess, getting some Soissonic love
First Byzantium, then the Holy Roman Empire, and now this?! Are their any more Romes I should know about?

Seems legit.
This is the real Renovatio Imperii.
Do a time lapse of a Brittany Exodus, Where the Conquer and Rule all.
would have been cool if you took eastern Rome and released it as either Greece or a client state but still cool timelapes
It would have been cool to see West Rome destroy the HRE and set another subject state there.
How did you get the custom flags to work so well in your vids?
You can form west Rome? :0 gonna try that soon :)
not without modding the game.
How much were you able to culture convert to Roman if I might ask?
how do you expand so big so quick? I always get revolts if I take too much land
Is the flag a mod? I want it.
Крутое видео классно 😀😁😀😁😀😁
I dare you to take over the entire coast of the world as
Albania
Did you create the tag for the game or you just gained the achievement and you were able to form Western Rome?
It's from Extended Timeline. He probably took the mod's files and modded it into the base game.
And the Ottomans officially became the eastern half

It’s part of the El Dorado DLC
I dont mean the custom nations, but how he could form new tags like West Rome
Linked_Soul he made it himself
Brachiozaur is there a way to get it?
IDK sadly, try to search on EU IV Wiki and youtube walkthroughs
In what program u did picture to intro?
Do the cree empire that spans from new England to England.
What graphics mix did you use?
It's coool!
I don't like idea that you made Roman culture as yours. Because Latin nowhere survived anyway, it just evovled in new local cultures. So, historicaly that remnant of Roman Empire couldn't really manage to not speak vulgar Latin and become French. And practicaly you made game harder, because you achieved culture union with some cultures that don't exist.
But anyway, great video, love you too :D
Emilio Falvo
Well no. Because every form of Latin evolved, even in time of late Roman Empire people started to speak vulgar Latin. Especially on borderland, like Northen Gaul (where Soisons is). In core of Empire they didn't speak Latin. That means that it wouldn't survive in that form even in France. I don't say that they would become French, but they would have their own form of Latin, close to French. In that time you had multiple Romance languages in that region which later become one universal French. So culture of Soisons will use some variant of vulgar Latin related to Francien (because of geographical reasons) but with more Roman customs and less Germanic.
Emilio Falvo Yeah, but this people wouldn't be isolated. We can say what we like, but they are far from Latin core and would be most likely "victims" of foreign influences on vocabulary, architecture, music etc.
And French is some kind of modern Latin, don't you agree? :D
I understand you, French people at that time were more Germanic and this nation would keep it's Roman culture more. So yeah, they would be closer to Italians by that, but anyway using Roman culture as pure is not so right. Maybe Soisons would form their own French nation? Closer to Roman than even Italians? In this timeline Latin would be "more pure" in Soisons than Italy or Iberia, but would still be vulgar with Germanic influences from both Franks, Anglo-Saxons and Flandrians.
Emilio Falvo Oh nice, Italians do it better :P and I found out that you are Italian by your name
Greetings from Serbia, Slavic and Romance langauge families are the most melodic in the world. Romance languages are often more beautiful, but we don't fall behind much :D
Emilio Falvo I agree. All Romance nations are dumping their culture. I don't count Romania, which is with us Slavs. I think that we all Europeans need to stand togheter and keep our identities. I feel quite bad for France :(
And thanks for loving our music. While Romans done much in science, Germans much in warfare, we focused ourselves in culture. Especially music. First time when Byzantines met Slavs they saw them as musicians, which continued to play same songs trough many years without writing them. Love to Italia
How do you form those custom vassals
Hey I have a question about eu4 I just got it! how to you play it?
You’re better off finding a tutorial video then asking in comments
How did you make the custom tag?
Wish that would have happened in reality.
How do you make the custom flags
Now you must liberate your Greek brothers
