- Las cuatro estaciones porteñas is a set of four tangos that Piazzolla originally wrote for a small ensemble he led while he was in Buenos Aires.
The ensemble consisted of violin, piano, electric guitar, bass and bandoneon.
There are four tangos, which represents a different season. Here is the Spring (Primavera porteña), arranged by none other than Sergio Assad.

Masterful performance, as per usual, Christ! I have heard many interpretations of this piece, and this is as good as any I have heard. If you do not mind my asking, why do you adopt a flamenco-esque sitting position when playing this piece? Do you find that it helps you get a certain effect that would be harder to achieve with the more conventional sitting position for classical guitar?
Thank you for you wonderful words Thatcher! This is a great question actually! There are two reasons for playing in this sitting position opposed to the normal classical position from my other videos. I wanted to be original with the sitting position as I find that this piece doesn't need to be played in a serious classical way and for the second reason, I was very tired during the recording session and this was the last piece, so I opted for an easy, comfortable position that is easier somehow, in this piece, to play fast passages without tension in the right hand as opposed to the classical position for me. Hope that this answers your question!
Cheers
Christ
@@christhabib Thanks for your answer; it makes a tremendous amount of sense. Obviously, whatever you are doing seems to be working... :)
