@@TengyueZhang Both are great! BTW I'm just curious, do you consider this as one of the most challenging pieces, cus I found very few players play it well.

@@TengyueZhang You'll get there. I'm sure you'll be able to infuse your pieces with more sentiment with a few more years. There are some things that can't be replaced, and experience with age is just one of those things.

I'd say it has a low action for a classical guitar because as you said, it sounded very much like a flamenco guitar

I know he played Primaver Portena....but where is the music?
Slow down on command, speed up on command.
This goes to show where the GFA is headed with their competitions.
Technicians will be winning, musicians not so much.

Refreshing to hear Piazzolla, Dyens or Bach played in time, considering most of these works are dance based styles... Matter of taste but I think the notes speak for themselves without self-indulgences of the performer. Not to mention the specificity of the modern style means that composers write down ALL performance indications.
Bearing that in mind is a sign of a great musician to me...

    • @Deerse

I agree, listen to Baltazar Benitez ( who toured with Piazolla and pupil of Carlevaro) play this, you will hear so much more inner dimensions. It has to do with a lot of things: articulation, phrasing, subtle flucuation of tempo, colour and so on. But the most important thing is that ( as C.P.E.Bach wisely quoted in 1752) a player who is not moved can't move others.

Ironically to your comment, this interpretation has a LOT of technical flaws. Many notes weren't accurate, yet he delivered a great interpretation. Seems like you have no idea what you're talking about.
