    So i believe ive watched like 5 basil video from you yet and ive always found the information very helpful but in this video you covered pretty much any question i could think of, truly amazing! Since i am growing many spices on my balcony i would love to see videos like this about spices like rosemary, Oregano, Thyme, parsley.
    The only question i could think of that hasnt been covered in this video is what can you plant next to basil and why, i've read online that planting basil next to rosemary can improve the basil growth even though rosemary lives multiple years and basil only one.
    My Basil has sadly died to fusarium wilt, so currently im growing new cuttings in water hopefully it will work out.
    Thanks for your work the videos really are awesome!

      Thank you very much for the super thanks, yes basil should grow very well for you in your climate, just keep cutting off the flowers when they appear as high temperatures can cause flowering to occur sooner.

    Thank you so much for these videos. I'm planning on getting a setup for some basil plants and I'm curious about something. Have you ever weighed your basil leaves before cooking? I'm just curious how much an average leaf from a plant with leaves that big would weigh since I usually do pesto by weight

    • @Gardeningat58N
      @Gardeningat58N  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No I've never weighed the leaves of my basil plant I imagine they are about four to five times heavier than some basil leaves as they are much bigger than the leaves from a young plant from the store.

    How many basil of these do you recommend for a pail/19L bucket for maximum yield? What’s the yield you’ve had and most productive variety you recommend?

    Potassium probably has the initial K in the chemical system since P was taken by phosporus before that and in some countries potassium is called kalium.

      I looked it up and it seems to take the K from Kalium, I suppose its similar to how Lead takes its Pb from its Latin name of plumbum.

    Hello!!! I had a quick question: how often/ how much should I harvest? Does it have to be a certain size?
    Thank you so much for this great info!!!

    • @Gardeningat58N
      @Gardeningat58N  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It depends on how quickly your plant grows and how much you need to harvest. If you are just using two or three leaves at a time you could harvest it daily from a large plant. However if you are making pesto and harvesting half the plant at a time you may need to wait a few weeks in between harvests. If you have a healthy plant you can remove up to two thirds at a time, but you will have to give it plenty of time afterwards to recover.

    Do you need dechlorinated water? Our tap water is fairly chlorinated

    • @Gardeningat58N
      @Gardeningat58N  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not usually, although if your chlorine levels are very high then it could burn the roots so use rain water or let your water sit out for a while for the chlorine to degas.
