Thanks for jumping straight into the topic without giving us all sort of nonsense stuff; bringing out your prop pet, or telling us witty stuffs and for keeping your editing to the basic and not having funky music.
Prop pet lol.
😂😂👏🏻👏🏻
could not agree more❤
Another hint - chlorine can be removed from tap water by leaving overnight in any container. The chorine readily evaporates off in 8 to 10 hours. I keep a quart mason jar of tap water in by cupboard for bread-making (yeast hates chorine) and for watering sensitive plants. Basil can be shocked if watered with water that is very cold, so this practice of letting water sit also allows it t come to room temperature.
Keep in mind that not all states use chlorine. My state of Missouri uses chloramine, and you can’t get rid of the chloramine by letting it sit out overnight. But a small amount of vitamin C powder can get rid of the chloramine. To see what your state uses, look it up at your county’s water district office.
Interesting. I was just wondering why does my TJ's basil plants keep dying.
@@spir5102 Or spend a buck and pick up a gallon of mineral water at the grocery store every so often.
Nice thing about having a well.
Yes. It’s super annoying.

!
I pray i learn well and GOD Blesses my plants roo
This one short video answered all the questions I had about why my basil plants always stayed small. Very clear instructions. Thank you for posting.
This basil video was really packed with info. Thanks so much! I especially like at 2:48 where you say that one will get bigger basil leaves and happier basil plants if there is not too much sun. I had no idea about that. I just burned my basil plants under too-close grow lights, so I REALLY needed to know this!
I was so nervous to cut mine back - thanks for the help!
Thank you so much for this video! I love the way you get right to the point and present the information clearly and succinctly. My basil plants will certainly be thanking you!
Thanks. I always thought that Basil was supposed to like sun but I'm finding, like you said that the locations with the least amount of sun have the most healthy basil plants. I also found that I could grow cilantro in our hot southern climate which gets into the 90s every day for a good 4-5 months of the year by exposing it only to early morning sun and keeping it mostly in the shade for the rest of the day which I was pleasantly surprised to discover was possible here. I'm going to try this with some new basil plants next spring.
Same here! We get over 100° regularly in the summer and range from mild winters to feet's of snow. This video ha opened my eyes to be able to grow basil, cilantro, plus parsley and oregano from Jag's other video.
Ive never seen such a big plant 🤩
Thanks so much for this post! Def the best basil growing tips I've seen.
Thats the most beautiful and healthy plant I've seen!! Thank you so much for sharing this info Jag. I love this herb. I had a plant and it eventually die. Your tips will surely help me to do it right with my next plant 😊

Thank you. For the valuable information I was planting my basil in the sun. Didn’t know why he kept dying, but today in the evening I will plant him in shade! I appreciate so much for your advice.

Thank you very much for your tips!
Best basil video so far. Thank you! I'm signing up for your channel right now.
Thank you for subscribing!
Thank you so much for sharing this info! So helpful to us who have no green thumb. It took us years to find the right place for basil to grow in our yard (in the desert where harsh sun is in abundance!). Actually, “we” didn’t find it, the basil serendipitously found it on its own!😆 A seed miraculously traveled across our driveway, who knows when because the plant itself was long gone,😳 and found its way to the perfect shady spot with morning sun, hallelujah finally LIFE!!!
Wow I learned so much from this video ! Thank you . I do live in an apartment and I grow basil , it is so easy . But now I know what to do when they start to flower .
Great video! Can't wait to grow big bushy basil plants!

After a long time you have seen ?lovely video i love your explaining style 👌👌👍👍
Amazing info... thank you, thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. I always thought basil had to be grown in all day sun - that may explain why my plant has very small leaves which are leathery. Still delicious but not very pretty!! I will be moving my plant tomorrow to a spot that gets morning sun only and we will see what happens. Excellent advice!!
Wonderful. Thanks for the really useful info.
Great information, thank you.

Super usefull, thank you
Your videos are really helpful
Thank you for your tip it's very helpful now I know how to grow this herb
Very useful
Ok. The shade thing makes SO much sense. I randomly planted a basil plant in an area that got sun like and and it had a blast, but last year when I planted some and it got full sun it was less than pleased with it. I'll do the shade from now on!
One of the most helpful and practical videos on this topic, thank you :) My basil is doing absolutely amazing this year, and I think it is because I keep it behind our window shutters! We leave them ajar or closed when the sun hits our windows in summer because it gets too hot inside (there is a space between the shutter and window where I put my plants)
:)
I have purple basil growing too. It does best in pots and some full sun and then partial shade throughout the day. I have a freezer full of fresh basil.
Great video, thank you!!!
Thanks for valuable guidance sir.
Thank you so much for this video.
Beautiful plant and beautiful video... amazing
Thank you for the video. First time hearing that the heat of the sun affects the sweetness of the sweet basil. Location location location!

Thank you. In the past I’ve grown my basil in full afternoon sun. This year I’ll change that.
Thanks from Australia

I am a fan!!!
Thank you 😊
Thanks!
Thank you☀️
Thanks for sharing such a great tips👌🌴🌿🌲☘
Thanks for this video! I love basil but my leaves are always skinny. Now I know why. It gets TOO MUCH sun! This year, I'll grow it in a container on my patio for part sun/part shade instead of the full sun in my garden.
Thank you 🙏
thanks for info!
I have subscribed by the way! very helpful channel! im so glad I bumped into your channel! :) Im starting to grow my own herbs and at the moment they all keep on wither dying or something munching on the leaves :(
I am deeply grateful to the video uploader for sharing their wealth of knowledge and expertise on how to cultivate big bushy basil plants. Their tips are invaluable for those of us who wish to grow this delicious herb. I must express my sincere appreciation for the time and effort they have put into creating this informative video.
While the video does mention the importance of fertilization for basil plants, it's worth delving a little deeper into the chemical aspects of fertilization for optimal growth. Basil is a heavy feeder, and requires regular fertilization to produce flavorful leaves. A balanced fertilizer with a ratio of Nitrogen-Phosphorus-Potassium (NPK) of about 5-10-5 is ideal for basil. Nitrogen is essential for leaf growth, Phosphorus is crucial for root development, and Potassium helps the plant resist disease. To meet the demands of basil, it's recommended to apply a water-soluble fertilizer every 2-3 weeks during the growing season. Additionally, it is important to be aware that over-fertilizing can cause the basil to become too lush and less flavorful, so it's important to be mindful of the amount of fertilizer used.
Thanks
yes...I want to learn about this nonsense! hehehe. Been growing basil for a minute but watched this to learn how to prune properly. Good stuff! Subbed.
