    Thank you for taking the time to create such helpful tutorials. I have four questions:
    1) How long, once you submitted all your documents did it take for you to be "Documentarily Verified"?
    2) I know this varies for many reasons, but could you tell me how long I could expect for NVC to make the appointment for my husband's interview?
    3) I moved less than a month ago but right before USCIS sent our petition to NVC. I have not done a change of address. When I am filling out the IV application for my husband, can I use our new address? Will this affect our case, such as processing time?
    3) Does it really take about 2+ hours to complete IV application?
    Many thanks in advance for taking time to answer my questions. We are so overjoyed and grateful to finally be at this stage I could hug just about anyone right now🥰!!

      Hi, you are so welcome! 😊Ok, so:
      1. I submitted my documents the first week of Oct and I got DQ’d on Dec 28. So it took a little over 2 months.
      2. Yes, the appointment times vary depending on the embassy. But most appointments are taking at least a year or more before being scheduled because of the backlogs. However, it’s possible for it to take less time for you & your hubby but be prepared for a wait.
      3. I would use the new address with NVC but make sure to do the change of address with USCIS.
      4. I don’t think it took me 2 hours to complete it but I didn’t take note of the time. I can say it didn’t feel tiring to me so don’t stress about it. You’ll be just fine. 🙂
      Yes, yes, I know that good feeling of making progress with this immigration journey!! Congratulations, you guys are halfway there!!!! Wishing you & your husband all the BEST!!💙💙

    Hi.There’s a part on the I 864 instruction form that says the form needs to be submitted with the most recent year financial documents and proof of US citizenship.
    My question is do we scan/attach the recent financial documents and proof of US citizenship to the i 864 and upload the rest separately on “additional documents “ or do we upload the i864 alone and upload the financial documents and proof of US citizenship on “additional documents” do you attach anything to the i864 form?

    1. Where does it show my total income on Income Tax return ?
    2. When will we need the police clearance certificate ?
    3. Can petitioner enter 🇺🇸 consulate or embassy for visa interview ?

    • @Marriedtotheculture
      @Marriedtotheculture  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!
      1. It depends on which IRS tax form you are using. But ti should be your total gross income after all types of income are added and adjustments subtracted. If using IRS Form 1040 it’s typically line 11.
      2. You need the police certificate once you get to the NVC stage and you also need it at the interview. If it expires before your interview, you’ll need to get another one.
      3. No, only the applicant can enter unless the applicant is a minor.

      Tax transcripts are only required of the US citizen/petitioner. If you wife is the petitioner she can request her tax transcripts from the iRS, nothing is required from you for her to do so.

    Hi,
    When nvc wants documents to be scanned in color, do they mean to scan the document as a picture to them because scanning in color doesn’t really show the true picture of the document especially the biographical page of the passport. And what’s the size for photos for K3, is it 2x2 because the website has another like 1x1/38. Thank yiu

    • @Marriedtotheculture

Or do I just upload the original documents in its foreign language ? , 2) do they also have to be apostille? 3) What if I move after completing & submitting all documents to NVC? Hi, yes civil documents in a foreign language MUST be translated by a certified translator and notarized. However, the information NVC provides for apostille documents is kind of vague. But it really depends on the consulate or embassy’s requirements. I would visit their website to confirm.

    • @Marriedtotheculture
      @Marriedtotheculture  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, do you need your daughter’s SSI disability in order to meet the income requirement? The only reason to add a household member’s income is if you cannot meet the income requirement on your own. (NVC will look at your total income line that’s on your tax return.) I’m not an expert in this area, but from my understanding one of the requirements is that the household member should be at least 18 years of age. So, I’m not 100% sure if your daughter’s income would be accepted if she’s a minor. Perhaps, you can just include a copy of the disability award letter and bank statements showing the deposits to your account. But again, these are my opinions and not legal advice. Wishing you all the best!! 💛💛

    My I-130 have just gotten an approval from USCIS and is on the way to NVC. However, my spouse is no longer living in the original country where we first filed the I-130 petition, instead, she is now living and working in a different country with legal residential permit. If we want to change the interview location to the current country US embassy where she is living, how would we do that? Will she fill out the current residence address in the DS-260 application and NVC will send the case to the appropriate US embassy? Thanks in advance

    • @Marriedtotheculture
      @Marriedtotheculture  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, you’re welcome. Per the NVC website:
      If your petition is being processed at NVC, contact the NVC to request the transfer. NVC will transfer cases if parties provide a written request along with the address in the requested country and the proof of eligibility (citizenship/legal residency in the requested country or other documentation). This can be provided at nvc.state.gov/inquiry. NVC may need to contact you for additional eligibility requirements. Note that transferring your case might not result in immediate processing as cases are processed in order based on the date the case became documentarily qualified.
      I also found information suggesting that perhaps you’ll have to contact the original embassy directly and request a transfer. But, I would start with NVC first to see if they can do it for you. Then, if not then contacting the original embassy directly would be the next step.
      Here’s the link with the info regarding contacting NVC:

      Hi sis, I don’t think you can make edits after you submit the DS-260. However, try clicking on the DS-260 application and toggling thru each page to see if it’ll allow you to edit. Most likely the majority of your entries will be ghost (un-editable), but it’s worth checking to see. You said your errors are spacing errors and if that’s the case I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Just make a mental note to clarify at the interview that you made the minor spacing error. But, that’s me personally, so if you’d rather correct , you can send NVC an email to see if they can help you with re-submitting the form. Hi, for the DS260 with NVC the mailing address is where they will send info about your case. Typically, mail isn’t sent internationally. So, if your wife doesn’t mind you receiving mail on her behalf, I would suggest using a U.S. address. Also, the permanent address is where the immigrant intends to live after arrival to the US. You will also have the option to choose to have her green card mailed to that permanent address. So, for example in my case, for my stepdaughter, she will be living with us upon her arrival to US, which is the permanent address. And I can receive mail correspondence on her behalf at this same permanent address. So, I checked yes for mailing address and permanent address being the same. I did the same when applying for my husband as well. Hope this helps.

      @Marriedtotheculture  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, first do not panic, you got this! As the petitioner the I-864 and your financial documents are needed. If they need any additional financial documents NVC will let you know via the online website and/or your email. The civil documents (i.e., marriage certificate, birth certificate, police certificate, etc.,) will need to be uploaded on behalf of your wife (the applicant). Most likely you are uploading this for your wife, so whatever civil documents are needed will be outlined on the portal.
      Just wait for each section to be unlocked for you to begin your upload and it will say what documents or forms need to be uploaded to the portal.

    Hello thanks for this helpful video. we just got aproved from uscis and we going to start nvc step what makes me worried is thatis, our 2021 tax transcript is still in the process because my husband apply itin no for me to file our tax together. so because of that they say they they have backlogs and they working one mnth behind our case because that we cant even file our 2022 tax.
    So my question to u is which is current tax transcript nvc request when we submit our documents at nvc and if we r not done with 2021,2022 tax what kind of papers we got to send to nvc to show them we r waiting for them to finish our tax and my itin number??
    Thank u for ur help🙏🏾

    • @Marriedtotheculture
      @Marriedtotheculture  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, so are you waiting on your 2021 tax transcripts to me sent from the IRS? Or are you waiting to file 2021 & 2022 taxes? (If you only have your tax return paperwork, you can submit that instead of the actual tax transcript.) NVC will request the most current year that you have filed. So, right now you could still send in only 2021, if you haven’t filed 2022 yet, because the tax filing deadlines for 2022 aren’t until this coming April. However, if you haven’t filed your taxes you’ll need to fill out a signed affidavit letter stating your reasoning and confirm that it will be completed prior to your interview. But, I’m not sure if this will cause your case to be placed on hold or not. If it were me, I'd probably send in 2020 taxes and include the affidavit letter, along with evidence from IRS showing that your tax filings are pending and will be sent when completed. Hope this helps.
