- In this video we take a look at SlingStudio. Which allows you to wirelessly connect multiple video sources to record, stream and live switch all from an iPad. Doug from B&H goes over the unit and features and decides to see if SlingStudio will work as a director's monitor.

The only issue with this gadget is you are missing the talk back system between cameraman and director which is a must have feature for multicam setup

Great video. If you use the sling studio just for recording (not live program) with multiple cameras and you use the overlays and additional graphics will they save as well or do they only save when the program is live ?
In our experience, any graphics added will definitely be visible in recording-only modes. In addition to the program feed, you can also record iso individual inputs, those are recorded clean, without graphics. But your program feed will definitely include graphics, as expected.
Sir, i have an question regarding live streaming , can i connect sling studio with my mobile hotspot or with wifi ? is its work !!!
Thanks for the great video. Kindly would you come clear of the possible reasons there would be a signal interference between the linker to the sling studio.Also what might be causing signal delays ?, as Emmanuel asked .
If there are other wireless signals in the air, those could be causing interference. With any wireless signal you need to be mindful of the other wireless signals in the area.

Love my SlingStudio, which I bough through B&H, of course. A super powerful streaming device for the money.
We are looking at sling as a potential for our church to stream its services. We tried the mevo with spectacularly horrible results (don't get me started). Based on some of our experience there, my question is, how does the sling do at injesting & streaming live music? The mevo would do so, but the app stripped out the bass. As we do "EDM" style music (as it relates to the bass / super low end) the live stream sounded terrible / not like what we actually sound like at all. Have you any experience with recording live music with the sling - with good results in the bass? Curious. Thanks! :-)
We just bought the Sling Studio with three Camera Links. We are having issues with the links transferring the video. The link is recognized but no video is transmitted. Did you have any issues linking your canon c series cameras? We also are having issues with the Sony a7s ii.
is there Any alternative Generic Budget camera link ..[as i find the SStudio camlink quite expensive ]...and can use a laptop rather than an ipad ?
There are no alternatives to the Sling Studio Camera Links. You could however use a Mac Book instead of an iPad to control the switcher.

How about timecode? What if I (for example) record 4k in camera and cut live in FHD in the Sling Studio App at the same time and don‘t hit the record button of the sling and the camera at the exact same moment? Will I be able to relink the fullres media by TC in post? And what about Avid? Is there an AAF-Option? thx!
Hello. Since it records ISO video, what would the file type be if I'm using blacksmgjc cinema csmeras recording raw of prores on my sd card internal in the csmera...?

Can I use my D850s with SlingStudio for live streaming?
Can DSLR or Mirror less cameras that have a wifi option connect to the sling studio' s adhoc LAN without the wireless transmitters?
I'm afraid not. The only way to connect to the SlingStudio is either with a Smart Phone using their specific Camera App or by connecting a camera with a Clean HDMI Output to the CameraLink.

The 7th Generation iPad should work very well with the console. Slingstudio does not yet list it as a supported device, but they list the 6th Generation. If it works with the 6th Generation it should be fin with the 7th.

Can Sling accept more than 4 cameras to be connected?
Up to ten sources can be connected simultaneously, any combination of four live 1080p30 or 720p60 input sources can be switched, recorded, and streamed, and up to 10 sources can be connected at any given time. If you only need to switch, record, or stream two sources, resolutions up to 1080p60 can be used. >Mark
I wonder if you have to have the proprietary hot shoe things...or we can use the wifi radios inside of our Sony cams?
You will not be able to connect through WiFi to the SlingStudio Hub with Sony Cameras. You will need the SlingStudio CameraLinks to connect Sony cameras that have a Clean HDMI Output.

Not that we are aware of. The SlingStudio is designed for streaming platforms, no web conferencing options like Cisco.

This system offers a very strong WiFi system. It may be possible, but as with anything else you would have to test it out to see the results.

can i use the pc as the controler instead of the ipod?
At this time SlingStudio does not have a Window Program for the Console Console. It is only available for select iOS and OS X devices.

I'm afraid not. The SlingStudio is for NTSC Frame Rates only. It will not work with 1080i50.

Can you import bible scriptures for live streaming?
You could feed it a computer or tablet through HDMI that would have bible scriptures on it and use it as one of your input sources.
