    These videos showing how you're using the SlingStudio are fantastic! They should be sponsoring you for doing such a great job: I've been debating between SlingStudio and Epiphan and you're certainly helping to sell the SlingStudio set-up.

      MarkowskyArt Thanks. Sling depends on their users for the support. One negative you’ll find is that Sling customer service isn’t that knowledgeable. They typically send people to the SlingStudio Users group on Facebook. There are a lot of people making a living with the Sling Studio setup over in that Facebook group.

    Great to see your set up Chad ;) May I ask you about the "Black panel" you have around the laptop?
    It would be awesome if you could put some links in the description, about the equipment or accessories you are using. That would be really helpful.
    Thanks!

      Hey Carlos! I'm glad you liked it. That panel is a sound shield from monoprice. I added a list to that and other equipment we used in the description.

    Nice setup, would you explain why you have another small mixer. What cables do you use and what is the main reason for doing that? Thanks you Blessings

      Normally we used that board when we had more than one input into the Sling. This setup only had one input because we were getting a monitor feed from the house sound board you see in the background. I believe we still used the board so that we could boost the signal going into the Sling. It may have also been so that I had a physical slider to control audio instead of using the digital sound controls in the Sling Console App. I honestly don't remember for sure. It certainly wasn't required. If we had a 1/4" out from the main board we could have bypassed the smaller board and gone directly into Sling.
      We've scrapped that board BTW. We now use a ZOOM H6 or L8. The L8 is a really nice board to add to a portable setup with Sling.

    Great set up. What kind of mixer audio are you using ? the link that you provide it doesn’t work.

      Cheyo Tepaz It’s like this one. Pyle Professional Audio Mixer Sound Board Console System Interface 4 Channel Digital USB Bluetooth MP3 Computer Input 48V Phantom Power Stereo DJ Studio Streaming FX 16-Bit DSP Processor - PMXU43BT.5 www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y8L4CK8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_XbZ5DbSWZBF0X
      BUT if you can afford it I highly recommend the new Zoom LiveTrack L8. We just got one and I love it!

    Great Stuff..which app are you using for lower third? Do you use capture card from the Mac pc to monitor

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just used the Sling console graphics panel for the lower 3rd. Just drop in PNGs with transparent background and you're good to go. The PC goes directly into the HDMI input of the Sling hub. No capture card needed.

  • @kevinsimpson4114
    @kevinsimpson4114 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You keep mentioning having the hub on a light stand, but I can't seem to find any, nor do you list it. Can you point me to one? Also, your cables in one of your outdoor events seem substantially beefier. Can you provide the types of cables used and where I can purchase them?

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just Google “photography light stand” and you’ll find a ton. We have a bunch of them laying around the studio. They are very standard although they come in different heights and are made from different materials. I’d avoid the cheapest since it’s holding up a pretty expensive piece of gear.
      Sorry I don’t know which particular cable you’re referring to. I don’t keep close track of where we get all our cables. We’ve accumulated them over the years go couldn’t say where we got any in particular. Many are from Amazon but we get them from monoprice and BandH as well.

      You're welcome! That board is a Pyle Audio Mixer. Amazon link is in the video description.

    This is amazing! How are you connecting the house audio to the smaller board. What output channels/lines are you using from the house board and what cords are you using?

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't remember specifically for this set up. This pretty typical though. The live in-house sound guys run a XLR cable to our board and we just plug it in as an input. Most of the time they even give us our own mix so we can have different levels than the house. They pull out any copyrighted music as well. On our end we can mix in sound from an audience facing mic and run our our background music while we wait for the event to start.

    Great setup. Have you ever acted as an advisor for others working on project?

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've not. I give people advise as they ask. The Sling Studio users facebook group has a lot of guys who do livestreaming with Sling as a full time business. Some have done consulting. There might be someone in your area depending on where you're at.

      Chad P Jackson can you create a video on how to hookup the audio?

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Trent0129 Not really worth a video on that one. All the sound comes through your cameras. There's also a single headphone jack on the Sling Studio hub that can accept any auxiliary source. That's it.

    nice setup, hw u do extend monitor ? any monitor can be used ?

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any monitor connected to a laptop can be used to extend your desktop as long as you have the right ports on your computer or use an adapter.

    I have delay from cameralink to sling studio app. Big problem when i use live desplay big screen

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. This is normal and expected. Any wireless video transmission comes with a delay. There is a low lag mode for those using Sling for live image magnification but there’s still a small delay. I wouldn’t recommend Sling for big screen displays at live events. A wired setup is better like a Black Magic ATEM. You might find some good advise on the Facebook Sling Studio Users group. There are some people there using Sling as you are and might have some better news for you.

    How did you add the secondary monitor? And with what cord?

    • @cedarvilleuniversity
      @cedarvilleuniversity 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The monitor is connected to the macbook with a USB-C cable. The monitor is fairly new and has a USB-C port. You could use any monitor as long as you have an adapter to convert your video signal from your mac. Newer mac laptops only have USB-C ports so you have to have USB-C adapter. Sometimes I use a TV as a secondary monitor and use a USB-C to HDMI adapter for example.
